  1. Brazil doesn't have any entries. There's also Sweden that doesn't have any entries but they're better on the women's side (although they don't have any women in the top 10 either). Australia with only two entries also feels pretty low for them.
  2. I would prefer to keep equestrian in so that in about 20+ years time, I'll still be able to see people older than me in the Olympics and I won't feel too old .

  4. 2024 Boys World Junior Rankings Now with the conclusion of the European Juniors, Olympics and Junior Pan Pacs, thought it would be a good idea to take a look at how the World Junior Rankings this year. These results were taken from a mix of the World Aquatics website, the Nuoto Mondiale Rankings and Swimcloud. With many competitions not contesting the stroke 50 events this year, I've decided to exclude them from these rankings. 33 countries are represented in these rankings. *YOB = Year of Birth 50m 5. Taiwan is going to the Little League World Series final!!!
  6. Two more medals on the final night to bring the final total to 16 medals: Bronze for Ella Cosgrove in the Girls 800m Freestyle (8:40.00) Silver in the Boys 4x100m Medley Relay (3:36.13) The boys were so close to beating the US! They just lost by 0.53 seconds. Aiden Norman lead off in 53.73!! He's the 3rd swimmer to go under the OQT this year. Dawson with another solid split at 1:00.77. Valient effort from Nicholas Duncan. The butterfly was always going to be the weakest leg but he split a respectable 53.07. Then Laon Kim split 48.56 on the freestyle . Overall, I would say that this is very promising for the medley relay in 2028. Butterfly will not be much of an issue then. Other results that caught my attention: 13 year old Shima Taghavi finished 6th in the Girls 200m Breaststroke A-Final in 2:32.88. That's just 0.28 seconds off her PB. Despite finishing 4th in the women's medley relay, Madison Kryger lead off with a backstroke time of 1:00.57. That's a new PB for her and puts her just outside the top 10 in the world junior rankings this year. 2 of those swimmers in the top 10 are Summer McIntosh and Delia Lloyd so overall, that's 3 Canadians in the top 11 in the women's 100m backstroke rankings.
  7. 5 medals on night 3 bringing the total to 14 medals Bronze for Julia Strojnowska in the Girls 400m Freestyle (4:11.52) GOLD for Aiden Norman in the Boys 200m Backstroke (1:57.67), just 0.17 off of the OQT and ranks 2nd in the world among juniors this year) Bronze for Ethan Ekk in the Boys 200m Backstroke (1:58.28), 8th in the world among juniors this year) Bronze in the Girls 4x100m Freestyle Relay (3:42.34), 14 year old Reina Liu had the fastest split at 55.14 so that's promising for the future) Bronze in the Boys 4x100m Freestyle Relay (3:19.07), Laon Kim lead off in 49.45 and Aiden Norman anchored in 49.40
  8. 4 more medals on night 2 of Junior Pan Pacs: Silver for Laon Kim in the Boys 100m Freestyle (49.37), now ranked 11th among juniors this year Bronze for Oliver Dawson in the Boys 100m Breaststroke (1:01.27), roughly ranked around 14th among juniors this year Silver in the Girls 4x200m Freestyle Relay (8:02.77), Julia Strojnowska with the best split leading off in 1:59.21, everybody else over 2 minutes Bronze in the Boys 4x200m Freestyle Relay (7:17.73), pretty solid splits all around: Ethan Ekk - 1:48.68 leadoff, Laon Kim - 1:49.63, Alexander Miao - 1:50.14, Aiden Norman - 1:49.28 Once again, a friendly reminder that Canada won a whopping total of 3 MEDALS in total at the 2022 Junior Pan Pacs
  9. At junior pan pacs, 15 year old Rylee Erisman swam 53.76 in the women's 100m freestyle
  10. Finally for the first time since the tournaments inception, we aren't in the same pool as the US!!! Also assuming they qualify, you can pencil in Taiwan as the qualifier team in Pool C
  11. News from the 2026 World Baseball Classic: Today it was announced that Canada will play in Pool A in San Juan, Puerto Rico alongside Puerto Rico, Cuba, Panama, and one other qualifier TBD Very happy with the group. 3 countries they've never played against in the history of the WBC and don't have to play the US for the first time ever. With a crop of new talent, there's the potential to make it out of the group stage for the first time ever.
  12. All of the top 4 nations are without their top junior swimmers since athletes that participated in the Olympics can't compete here. Hence why we see the US and their infinite depth dominating the medal table here. Australia is probably the most impacted so far since their two best junior swimmers (Olivia Wunsch and Jaclyn Barclay) would've helped their medal count a lot on night 1. I've started to compile junior rankings for this year. If you exclude Russian athletes, Aiden Norman is comfortably the top junior in the 100 back. I think Madison Kryger is currently 11th and Ethan Ekk 11th or 12th in their respective events which considering they still have at least one more year of junior eligibility is pretty good.
  13. 5 medals on night one of Junior Pan Pacs: Silver for Ethan Ekk in the Boys 200m Freestyle (1:48.76) Bronze for Madison Kryger in the Girls 100m Backstroke (1:00.69) Gold for Aiden Norman in the Boys 100m Backstroke (54.10, lead off mixed medley relay in 53.86!) Silver for Julia Strojnowska in the Girls 1500m Freestyle (16:37.72) Silver in the Mixed Medley Relay (3:49.91) Keep in mind that Canada only won 3 medals at the 2022 edition (including not winning any gold medals) so we've already passed that performance on night 1.
  14. Gold for Aidan Norman in the 100m backstroke at Junior Pan Pacs!
  15. I would add a mixed hammer throw event to the athletics programme. That would be fun!
  16. For swimming, I went from around 10 replies in Tokyo to 115 this year so that explains part of the increase. Also I wouldn't be surprised if @Josh was entirely responsible for the big increases in both volleyball and the 3x3 basketball threads (and possibly some other threads). He wasn't on the forum 3 years ago.
  17. A record setting Olympics with the most gold medals and total medals in a non-boycotted Olympics in Canadian history is a 1/10?
  18. Martin Fourcade presenting the medals!
  19. Remains in 3rd overall with a 12 point lead on the 4th place cyclist
  20. Maggie Coles-Lyster is 3rd after 2/4 races. Meanwhile, Kelsey Mitchell officially finishes 8th in the women's sprint
  21. Albania wins their 2nd ever Olympic medal
  22. Rivera wins bronze on a successful challenge after time runs out. Full range of emotions for both wrestlers.
