  1. Who is Logan Paul and what's up with this?
  2. First road race is underway, women's juniors, and already a whole bunch of them have felt the ground in these rainy conditions. Too bad there's a cobblestone section....but they forgot to cover the sidewalk so they can just ride there Also: there's not a single piece of graphics on screen that shows how far they've got to go, this is useless
  3. Jumbo Visma's wonder juice keeps on working, this time Jonas Vingegaard of all places won a rather hard stage in Poland, ahead of Pavel Sivakov and Jai Hindley. It seems to be so clear which teams are using the (legal, for now) wonder juice: more than ever there's a group of teams that are way overperforming and a group of teams that are way underperforming
  4. Cool, another NZ athlete besides the already pretty talented guy they have (mostly his skiing is really good), although I forgot his name Participated in IBU competitions last season
  5. Taiwan nearly upset Belgium again They had a rather impressive comeback, I believe they went from 18-13 (something like that) to scoring 19-19 in the last half minute. Golden goal had to be played and there Belgium took the win. Netherlands crushed China 27-12.
  6. Nope, I'm in total agreeance with your first sentence I know as much about fierljeppen as the average Dutchman: they try to jump across water with a pole, as far as possible. That's pretty much it.
  7. Wait what? I feel like governments falling is way too common to be special anymore, but still
  8. I know there's been plenty of juniors who have been hyped way too much, but when he destroyed the juniors* months after picking up competitive cycling and everyone hyped him to no limit...I'm starting to think that was kind of justified *At the European championships last year he attacked early in the road race and took it easy at the end....won by almost 10 minutes (!) on a group with some of the world's best juniors in it Before some double destruction at the world champs Sure, somehow he might fall back and turn out not to be great anymore, or something. But even if this is his limit, even if he has won everything he will ever win already (highly unlikely, but still), he'd be more succesful than most pro riders ever will be
  9. Correct. Winning another South American title is gonna be next to impossible this way though, it'd be not much shy of a miracle to be honest (even though she no doubt is the strongest of all present).
  10. Utterly destroyed everyone on the climb in the final, but in the descent they closed the gap (obviously, when you've got absolutely useless skis that are waxed even worse there's just nothing you can do) and Grötzner of Argentina passed her by a few centimeters in the final meter. I have no words to describe how infuriating and frustrating all this is.
  11. A good one? A few hundred euros I believe. A pair of good carbon poles already costs 200, high quality boots are 400, about skis I'd have to ask later today.
  12. Not bad (but frustrating) considering the skis felt as if there was dog shit under them instead of wax (because someone who was supposed to do so didn't take care of them, at all, for half a year). Now it's hoping for a bit of good old destruction in the final. 'Mit Wut im Bauch', I'm sure @EselTheDonkey would understand
  13. True, he might fair well in the battle for silver
  14. Denmark Denmark other country Norway Norway In the U23 top-5. Wow so surprising. See you probably (basically) never in 10 years from now
  15. When someone's second ever post on the forum is a diehard fact-check
  16. I know Trump sucks, but in terms of overall damage being done that guy is just absolutely meaningless compared to Brazil's Bolsonaro https://www.livescience.com/66120-amazon-rainforest-deforestation-bolsonaro.html Space agency: "Deforestation went up by 80%!" President: "No, that's a lie. You're fired." Next month: "Deforestation went up by almost 300%!" Let's wait for his reaction this time...I'm guessing he considers it good news, less forest is more space for business and mining
  17. Ellen van Dijk destroyed everyone, surprise.
  18. Four nations will compete in the sprint races today in Ushuaia, which is officially the Brazilian national championships.
  19. Apparently it's the biggest in terms of active membership, but not viewing numbers. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Football_in_Norway Which still doesn't take much away from the whole point: football is way too big for any one nation to 'claim' it as national sport
  20. For example a site like ProCyclingStats in cycling threads, Omega's website for swimming, Tissot for track cycling and the FIS and biathlonresults.com website for their respective events In this case UEC is fine too, you're right
  21. Yeah I'm sure there's plenty of things wrong with it (also it's about the most popular sports in a country instead of the national sport, maybe cricket 'won' in UAE because of all the foreign employees ), but it's mostly about the broad picture: football is just too big to be any one nation's national sport in my opinion
  22. Welcome to the list of a gazillion countries that'd say the same about football
  23. Trouble for Letizia Paternoster (or so there should be), who has repeatedly been breaking the rules like so:
  24. At least these numbers sound less idiotic than when making the same list for men
