  1. Kriechmayr gave it away there, but good thing he stayed upright.
  2. Can you still watch the IBSF streams as well though? Because if having bobsleigh and skeleton on TV means IBSF streams get geoblocked, I really, really hope we will never have live bobsleigh and skeleton World Cups on Dutch TV For someone who often can't watch live, nothing beats a full event being available on YouTube to watch with great commentary and - importantly - no spoilers at all in the video titles and (unlike in luge ) thumbnails.
  3. Uhm, I'm watching a live speed event right now
  4. Caviezel takes the flag with him out of one of the early gates. You can't do that man, STOP THE STEAL.
  5. Definitely, although he could have at least mentioned the first race was streamed Oh well, we can count this as first big monobob race anyway considering the field. I'm just slightly annoyed that they couldn't just make it a World Cup but had to go with some 'special' thingy like World Series - as if putting the women in a sled designed for disabled and youth athletes wasn't enough
  6. Friedrich got beaten in the 2-man race First time since the 2018/19 season
  7. Although there we are talking about sports where keeping distance is a whole lot easier. Anyhow, I can understand the decision of those three nations especially in a sport where the athletes are living a far from healthy life already.
  8. Norway is perfectly allowed to compete like other nations, their cross-country team just decided not to because having a decent preparation towards later parts of the season was deemed impossible for them with the constant quarantaine whenever travelling to another country. It's a bit hard to compare it with biathlon, since the IBU has simply done a better job in having a good season in place, especially with the thing they have of two consecutive World Cups in one location, to lower the total amount of travelling back and forth.
  9. Oh come on, I take a quick look at today's schedule to confirm I do indeed have 35 minutes left to catch up on yesterday's things, and....
  10. Even yesterday's race with zero Americans?
  11. After the fiasco in Winterberg, the second women's monobob World Series event, yesterday in Innsbruck, already looked and felt a whole lot more like a top class event. If it keeps going like this, it'll have all chances to be a not totally terrible Olympic event in 2022 and a worthy one in 2026. Just too bad Martin Haven was all "first ever televised race!!" and such, but I guess these IBSF streams are shown on TV....somewhere? Other than that, of course Winterberg was streamed as well.
  12. I'd be surprised if the World Cup in Dresden next weekend happens. There's no longer a discussion on whether or not there will be a 'hard lockdown' in Germany, the question is basically only when it will start: Tuesday or Wednesday. Since it'll last until 10 January, I highly doubt the 9 and 10 January FIS races in Reit im Winkl will happen as well, which was supposed to be the main preparation race for the world championships for a certain Brazilian Totallympian.
  13. Pulev showed heart, but yeah...did not even have 0,01% chance to win it at any given moment That was even more one-sided than expected.
  14. Wow, late replacement Nikodem Jeżewski got completely destroyed by Lawrence Okolie for the WBO International cruiserweight title. That did not look good at all, Jezewski looked like some random guy they picked off the street, he should not have been there at all..
  15. Pulev looks as calm and collected as anyone can be and that's before entering the ring with Anthony Joshua
  16. Awesome win for Brennan, never even been in the semi's in sprints before and suddenly the 'anti sprinter' wins a sprint Sure, no Scandinavians (not that the Finns would matter all that much anyway) but she beat quite a strong field anyway! Great women's final with hard fighting for the entire top-4, too bad it was followed by an incredibly anticlimactic men's final
  17. Geiger Awesome, he's gonna have one heck of a story to tell his newborn/almost newborn baby later And anyway an awesome competition for any fan of the sport: fantastic jumps and after four jumps a decision by half a point
  18. Ah, there is the expected dose of cynicism I was waiting for before enjoying the world championships. Took you long enough.
  19. Lol, some people either have tiny balls there or just outright hate each other and that's finally coming out
  20. I hope so for him, but I highly doubt he has the kind of level the likes of Joshua have I guess the few main competitors in heavyweight aren't available at the moment, so sometimes there has to be someone like Pulev to fill the wait up to the next huge fight
  21. I watch most of the big boxing fights (sometimes live, often a bit later), but could and can not be bothered for two pensioners stepping into the ring
  22. "Achieved 3 straight victories in 4 WC races." What's the added value of the 4 there? I mean, 3 straight victories are by definition done in 3 WC races, aren't they? Why is FIS trying to undersell that impressive stat?
