  2. Mostly this. Russians getting angry at the outside world instead of at the responsible people for this (aka their government), lol.
  3. Meanwhile Yuki Tsunoda has already been confirmed in the second AlphaTauri seat next to Gasly. Very much deservedly so.
  4. Does the IBSF website have COVID-19 or something? Earlier in the week the women's monobob already was just......gone, with no news or anything as to why there were and still are no results posted. Now there still aren't even start lists for today's skeleton World Cup, even though there are start lists for the European Cup.. https://www.ibsf.org/en/races-results?session=ALL
  5. Which automatically raises the question: is Kozica there as well?
  6. Not much, considering the competition is tomorrow And judging by the PCR today, she is very, very much the favourite.
  7. EU yesterday: "Every member state should wait with starting the vaccination program until also the slowest member states are ready to begin, that's fair." EU today: Europe minus the Netherlands, that is, since vaccinations here will most likely only begin halfway through January.....because the IT systems aren't ready yet And the whole 'wait for the slowest state to be ready' has swiftly been thrown overboard (rightfully so, of course, don't get me wrong)
  8. Not sure about the reasons there, but here some of the measures are a response to Germany's measures: if Germany closes a lot of their shops (which didn't happen that much since a whole shitload is apparently still open due to 'exceptions') and we don't, Germans will just cross the border and buy their stuff here. Much like we would do if it were the other way around and much like what happened in the south when Belgian bars closed...they all just came here to get drunk
  9. I have (at least since I got my job in June) and it has been glorious. I wish this part can stay forever, with going to the office being only optional once this has all blown over No 30-40+ people running and yelling around the office (which I heard from colleagues who've been there longer), meaning I wouldn't be able to get any work done. 90% of the communication done in chats on Teams, meaning most of the important things being said can easily be found instead of having to dig through one's own memory. I can have 5 conversations at the same time, since they're all on Teams it is super easy to keep track of them without having to juggle them in my mind, and I can take a bit of time to answer appropriately. Instead of having to get ready for work 1,5 hour before the start time (travel time etc), I can get ready 5 minutes before the start time. As soon as the workday is done, private time starts, instead of first having to travel all the way back home. I can turn on the TV to some sports (without sound of course, to not get distracted) to keep an eye on. During my break, I can lean back in my comfy chair and watch some TV or something instead of having lunch at work.
  10. Everything on Geraghty-Moats. Basically all others are still just kids and the few who aren't shouldn't be close to her level. Interesting to see how the likes of Jenny Nowak and Lisa Hirner will do, they've been up there since they were 14 or 15 and women's NC slowly started in the COC I think. Same participants now of course, basically, but they could be the first stars once they grow up physically and get past the already adult Geraghty-Moats. Also, there's a Malacinski I see, just like in the (men's) COC in Park City last weekend. I'm guessing her brother, hopefully she'll do as well as he did there
  11. Apparently the Hungarian government led by Viktor Orban has stepped back in time and adopted a law that forbids gay couples to adopt children. I mean, it can hardly be called a surprise coming where it's coming from, but wow. Also the constitution has apparently undergone a change backwards, defining 'family' as the 'union of a father who is a man and a mother who is a woman'.
  12. Fiji is going to go through hell in the next 24 hours, a hurricane on the edge of category 4/5 will make landfall and basically hit the whole country head-on. Only capital Suva might be somewhat spared because of it's slightly protected location.
  13. Yeah, that whole thing made dressage go from "most people don't care, some people like it" to "most people despise it, some don't care and a few like it" here. Everyone knew horses are often seen as nothing but sellable equipment and material by their owners, sadly, but that made it clearer than anything had done before in the Netherlands.
  14. [hide] Semifinals December 18th, 2020 4 Nations, the 2 Winners from each Semifinal will qualify for the Final. The 2 losers from each Semifinal will play the Third Place Match. Semifinals Date & Time (GMT +1) Nation 1 T1 T2 Nation 2 December 18th 2020, h. 18:00 France 2 Croatia December 18th 2020, h. 20:30 Norway 5 Denmark [/hide]
  15. Raymond van Barneveld was being all "Wright should focus more on the game instead of the outfits" and then Wright comes up with an even more extravagant and weird look than normal Luckily RayBar never does anything weird like that, he's always normal.
  16. I was wondering the same thing Also, that one of last weekend wasn't even on the original IBSF calendar, so I feel like the whole thing has changed a bit
  17. Very emotional interview with Portela. Lost a lot of people during this year, his daughter spent time in the hospital and he thought of quitting darts. "This was supposed to be my last match and then I won."
  18. First ever South American player to win a match at the world championships
  19. Edward Gal's wonder horse Totilas has died today, aged 20 https://www.rtlnieuws.nl/sport/artikel/5203387/totilas-overleden-paard-dressuur-koliek Still such a shame how this all ended up after the time with Gal..
  20. Waiting for the Trump campaign to say the votes of *insert some random states Biden won* shouldn't count because....who knows, maybe the ink in their pens was made by a company owned by someone who once got a hotdog in a stand owned by a Cuban and so is basically a commie spy
  21. One man and one woman in the fields of 63 and 32 didn't finish their qualifying run in the skicross in Arosa yesterday and so these two will be the only ones who can't start today and tomorrow. That's...sad
  22. I really wish I could say I agree, but she needs to not only keep this up, but improve a whole lot more to get that top-8 finish in a World Cup..
  23. Definitely a deserved win for Shiffrin and really, really nice to see her take her first win after losing her dad - that must have been one hell of a moment for her. Moments like this are what make sports so great She did make excellent use of the mistakes of her main competitors though
