  1. How did the responsible product owner (I assume) of Eurovisionsports' video stream team think "Well, sure, we will have a live stream, but unlike every single modern live stream provider of nowadays, we will not make it have the option to watch from the beginning of the stream, that's a great idea!"?
  2. Give Baiba an extra cheer please And have fun, atmosphere seems to be fantastic as always in Nove Mesto
  3. Wow, Vermeulen / Unbelievable, what a day yesterday
  4. Oh wow! Recently at a work thing we were asked who our hero was, just for fun, and of all possible people in the world, I picked Kasai Can't overstate enough how happy I am we get to see him another time
  5. Oh wow, 5th place for Baiba @brunamoura (who, in case someone missed it, is coached by Baiba) nearly punched the chair next to me in half when she missed that 10th shot, but after that....jubilation and pride and everything, it's been an hour since we watched her finish and we're both still pumped up with adrenaline
  6. "Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce: Jamaica sprint legend to retire after Paris 2024 Olympics" Both unexpected (because it felt like she'd go on forever) and expected (because of her age and winning everything one can win) at the same time
  7. Village of Lukashenko, using the name Solovyev (that propaganda dude who keeps yelling Russia needs to nuke the western world), very clearly some trolling from whoever came with this story
  8. As documents now show, the Russians tried to blame it on, I kid you not, a strawberry dessert Valieva's granddad made for her on the same cutting board he uses to crushes his heart medication (for which no prescription or any kind of evidence could be found), which Valieva then supposedly took with her all the way to the national championships This is Sara "my mom's medication fell in the pasta sauce" Errani or Adri "the pigeon meat was tainted" van der Poel level nonsense
  9. Yeah, that's what we as Dutch cycling fans have been saying for about 10 years now, and only 10 years ago that was actually true
  10. Dutch cyclist Antwan Tolhoek has tested positive....for steroids Seriously, the rider who in Dutch cycling circles is called 'Child soldier' because of his tiny appearance, gets caught for steroids Edit: I had forgotten for this season he had made the switch to one of those super shady Portuguese continental teams, where generally they sprint up the mountains until they get caught and/or the team gets disbanded due to investigations. Oh well, matter of time then, he didn't even make it past the first winter
  11. 10 minutes per jury, which is very generous, leads to 10 hours of voting windows. One hour break at halftime, for example two 15 minute breaks in both halves, and you've got a 12 hour Grand Final, easily in one day
  12. Thanks! Imagine, one miraculous day all nations that ever participated are in the same contest (and of course South Korea enters), 60 songs to listen and rank
  13. Tucker Carlson....you know, Tucker Carlson, is going to interview Putin Surely that's going to be top-level journalism full with critical questions
  14. Huh, they have a new thing apparently, now it's here https://www.fis-ski.com/DB/general/results.html?sectorcode=CC&raceid=44496#video
  15. FIS is not showing the women junior's 20k, not on their YouTube channel and not on the Watch.fis-ski website....but they are showing the men juniors later today What's this nonsense? I thought I'd be able to watch Slovenian TV, but sadly Slovenia is not in the list of countries on my VPN provider..
  16. Me? No way, one needs to be an absolute madman to maintain statistics like that We have our celebrated God of TISC, @OlympicIRL, for that role
  17. Huh, no Rastorgujevs for Latvia in the mixed Oh well, single mixed is their big chance anyway of course
  18. It's not a good sign when out of so many millions of people, the only two realistic options for president are once again going to be two ancient men who have 'forming coherent sentences and pronouncing them in an understandable manner' as one of their biggest obstacles in daily life.
  19. "Captain"-points - Explained: Each user can select up to 5 "captains" for this contest. Each "captain" will double its' points for his, her's or the team's event. Each user will have to mark their "captains" for each event with an "*". 20. Tunisia missed the rare opportunity to leave Canada behind in the participation ranking, both are on 18 but now both aren't there Excellent for Bulgaria, Croatia, New Zealand, Romania and the Netherlands, we double our advantage on them
  21. It's fine, just cut money on safety stuff and it'll be done in time Still sad for the Italian athletes though. They could easily have had several years of extra training, which would have resulted in men's skeleton, women's skeleton, two-man and four-man bobs and basically all luge disciplines having very significant medal chances and even gold medal chances, but now....it's basically as much their home track as it is Ferlazzo's or Rocha's home track. Two years and it has to be done, up and running and having held test competitions.
  22. There's really going to be no Canada for the first time in what feels like almost forever?
  23. Ok, they lost against Saint Lucia in November 2022 I might have been too excited, but they scored in their previous three matches (against Denmark, Kazakhstan and Finland, one would imagine the likes of Anguilla or São Tomé shouldn't be that much of a problem then, but if Saint Lucia proves too much...) We'll see, they have a double-header against scheduled next month!
  24. Interestingly enough, San Marino is ranked in 210th and last place, which is a great way to show the nonsense of this ranking system....I have not a single doubt that they'd run circles around at least 30-40 of the teams above them (but who I assume get easier points by playing easier matches?) https://www.fifa.com/fifa-world-ranking/men
