  1. Team bosses all voted for that this morning, the F1 Commission is likely to ratify the change in the next days.
  2. There is no new qualifying format anymore, they're already changing it back
  3. I will rather watch Moto3 (Bo Bendsneyder!!), Moto2, MotoGP, World Superbike, World Supersport and F1 And tonight NASCAR and next week (?) IndyCar again
  4. Damn team, f*cking up Verstappen's race on his way to at least a top-5 finish Max was pretty frustrated all the time at the radio after that
  5. Silver for Schippers, as somewhat expected
  6. Incredible last throw by Michelle Carter And Bralon Taplin had a little case of an engine blow-up
  7. Our women's handball team is going to Rio Good month so far, with 11 track cycling quota being secured as well. Hopefully the water polo women can continue this next week (and who knows, maybe the men if they're in for a huge surprise ).
  8. I heard it actually was a pretty hard match against Japan in which we were often behind
  9. It doesn't help that the only male player I know of isn't playing for the national team anymore for years already if I'm not mistaken. Mark Bult was a huge fan favorite at Füchse Berlin 4 years ago, no idea if he still plays somewhere. At least the women are good
  10. That was a stunning women's long jump final...Reese exploding with 7,22 in her very last jump And what on earth was Konomo Kai of Japan doing with a full step behind the board at all three of her jumps?! Also an amazing 800m to close of the pentathlon, what a performance by Theisen-Eaton to take the gold, even though she had a little help from Mokhnyuk
  11. Luckily in the interviews they are all still focussed on Japan and definitely not celebrating like "we are going to Rio" yet
  12. I thought "Hmm maybe he is exaggerating, let me check"...this is the 5th consecutive year Weird indeed. I'm too sleepy for it, but in a magical world where the draw is indeed completely fair, how big would the chance (in %) be of this happening 5 consecutive times?
  13. Eberhard shoots clean for the first time since a little over 5 years Awesome to see him do that and finally win a big race!
  14. If he indeed tested positive at the OQT and FIVB lets Russia still go to Rio, we know the deal. The rules stated pretty clear that 2 positive tests for a team = DSQ. The impact the player had only matters when it's about one positive test, not when it's about multiple. He played, so he was part of the team, even if it was for only 5 seconds. (I think someone posted these rules somewhere up in this thread)
  15. Oops I put the first few names in the list but after some minutes I lost interest for today so I'll continue another day
  16. How about Cuban taekwondo athlete Robelis Despaigne? Bronze in 2012, but apparently wasn't good enough to participate at this years qualifiers...or was he injured/retired?
  17. Yeah I hated that Büchler had that fantastic jump apparently right before I woke up And I completely agree about your first sentence. Sometimes in the background during some track event you normally already hear the audience cheer for a great jump, so when you see the jump you basically already know the result. This way was very good and they could maybe even have made the program a little bigger (like including a long jump final or something, there's plenty of time).
  18. Interesting (well not so much for the Netherlands and France, but for me to make a possible bet on Japan )
  19. I was surprised Lavillenie actually tried 6,17m the full three times Unfortuntely I didn't really see an interesting competition. The apparently interesting part of the women's competition happened pretty much during the time in which I had fallen asleep and after I woke up there was only Suhr vs Morris left and the last jumps of Stefanidi and Büchler, which weren't really exciting And the men's competition...good to see at least a 6+, but the way Lavillenie dominated made it kinda boring in my opinion. I would have liked to see him pass the world record
  20. What do you mean, depleted? They are missing their top players or they are simply not good?
  21. Luiten started with +5 yesterday, had an amazing round today with 7 birdies and no bogeys in the first 14 holes to bring him well inside the cut....only to finish the round with bogey, bogey, bogey and 1 stroke out of the cut
  22. Really cool to see FIS let him use BIB 500 And they even gave him a tiny little BIB 500 for his daughter
  23. At least nobody here is really worried about it. France are favorites against us, but we shouldn't have a problem with the other 2 nations and so still qualify anyway
