  1. And you already missed some nice biathlon where visibility was worse than in the middle of the night
  2. He's awake!
  3. That would be somewhat according to what they wrote: Nothing about postponing the slalom..
  4. Kazakhstan is here with their complete World Cup team, yes Ussanova, Raikova, Vishnevskaya and Kistanova is basically the team they have in World Cup relays as well (sometimes with Poltoranina instead of Ussanova/Kistanova/Raikova).
  5. Ooh come on, we can't have an avalanche skiing competition?
  6. The course in Arber is hard too (including a huge and steep uphill to start with, way bigger than the famous Wall of Kontiolahti, followed by a technical descent so not much room to gain a lot of speed)
  7. 1-2-4-5 for Kazakhstan, so surprising when sending their entire World Cup squad
  8. Takahashi passed Yekaterina Aydova in the very, very last meters at the speed skating! There goes Aydova's mission to win three individual gold medals, although her two best events (500 and 1000) are still to come.
  9. 56+ minutes skiing time, that must be one of the longest individual races ever at this kind of level Even in Arber they were 10 minutes faster than that and there was a huge amount of fresh snow there as well..
  10. Oh yeah, because doing the XC first makes sense and will make it easier to watch.
  11. By the way, Karin Kania's 1500m track record was the 120th and last world record to be set in Medeo
  12. Nice visibility at the shooting range so far. Aaaaand it's gone!
  13. Ski jumping at the nordic combined was cancelled, but I don't see any Provisional Competition Round result....how are they gonna solve that, do the cross-country first and then ski jumping (which seems incredibly awkward) or move the jumping and start the XC later?
  14. Only fitting that our Eurosport commentator (who apart from that is doing a good job to be fair, considering he is actually the athletics commentator) has already said at least 6-7 times that Alina Raikova doesn't compete outside things like the Universiade anymore in the past few years Aaaaand of course right when I write this, he corrects his mistake after almost one hour and says she competed in the World Cup this season
  15. The last 4 starters in the women's biathlon individual standing at 2, 3, 4 and 5 after the first shooting, this is promising a nice final part of the competition
  16. Karin Enke-Richter now, Karin Kania (or Enke-Kania or Kania-Enke) at that time Kania is how she's known at least here in the Netherlands
  17. The 1500m women's track record is still held by Karin Kania, I didn't think I'd ever again see speed skating on a track where the current records were set by athletes I only know of the stories from long ago before I was born
  18. Ah that was just a mistake, on FIS' website they've done it right and there I also see that out of 62 athletes, Bruna had the 45th time, just...wow
  19. Snow at the speed skating at the legendary Medeo track I wish they'd have a major international competition in these kind of conditions ever again..
  20. All of a sudden they're including the 5k classic in the FIS points calculation?! That can't be right (or even remotely fair), they should look only at today's 5k time like they normally do..
  21. She beat everyone who finished behind her yesterday and managed to beat 4 more, beautifully done
  22. Bruna has 10 women behind her so far, she's started really well indeed, come on, vamos, vai, everything!
  23. Wow, the conditions at Alatau have completely turned around and instead of yesterday's beautiful blue skies, we have a huge amount of snow falling at the XC and biathlon tracks
  24. That's the goal The first plan was to go nearly all-out on the first half of the 5k lap, which is mostly a very long uphill, trying to stay in the front of the wave group (14 athletes) and maybe catch 1-2 athletes in front, then just try and see how much energy there's left for the second part (which has a downhill, tiny barely noticeable uphill, downhill, flat, downhill, flat, finish). At the team captain's meeting they said they won't do the 5k lap however, but two laps on a different, 2.5k course. It's easier, with only the uphill at the beginning, but it also means the plans had to be adjusted a bit
