  1. With Edson Bindilatti's team finishing 23rd in the 4-man bobsleigh, Brazil's participation in the Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang is over. Sort of disappointing edition for the Brazilians: Bindilatti went for top-20 but didn't get it, XC skier Victor Santos didn't get close to what he actually can do, snowboarder Isabel Clark Ribeiro got injured in training, couldn't even start and retired, and alpine skier Michel Macedo got injured in training, because of which he had to miss his main events (speed) and could only sort of start in the technical events, without much success. Basically Isadora Williams in figure skating is the only one who was able to really get to her standards.. Well, on to Beijing, hopefully with two male and/or female XC athletes and some biathlon in there
  2. But threw it all away with the bronze medal match
  3. Honestly I don't care where they are, as long as there's a decent live stream I'm watching it (San Juan's live streams were wonderful for example)
  4. This is not cool man. A knife straight through the heart.
  5. I had no idea he died, even when literally one minute ago I checked his Wikipedia page (because as soon as I read this name, I thought 'wait, wasn't that an EPO guy?', but wasn't sure, so I had to check it)...
  6. I do hope Niskanen's success won't be remembered in the same way though
  7. By not having a pre-determined winner
  8. The opposite, really It was exciting until the end, with a lot of attacks (much better than in previous years).
  9. Since there's some good boxing tonight, and racing both during the night (World Superbikes) and tomorrow evening (NASCAR), the first realistic options for sleep I can see in the foreseeable future are Monday....that's problematic
  10. That's when things slowly start getting interesting in Kuurne-Brussels-Kuurne...amateur!
  11. Big congratulations to everyone on the podium and, because of the high number of participants, everyone in let's say the top-33!
  12. Valgren wins, Astana had a magical winter, already 5 wins this season and all from different riders
  13. A little over 30km to go in the Omloop, mostly considered the true start of the cycling season
  14. 5-3, goal here, goal there, goals everywhere
  15. He said they had two plans. The first one was actually for him to attack and go for it, "if Swings hesitated for 2-3 more seconds, I'd have been gone", after that the plan was to sort of launch Verweij into the sprint.
  16. Agger would likely drink himself into a coma
  17. To be fair, Bruna gets that too and her best result is top-90 in the IBU Cup or under 150 FIS points I think Alusalu would get that one anyway.
  18. I might be jumping a hole in my roof if Swings and/or Michael medal
  19. German Pechstein stealing the Dutch flag (in Schouten's interview). History repeats.
  20. Logically, at first especially.
  21. And probably funding for the next 4 years For a lot of athletes top-8 can be career-saving
