  1. But you are nonetheless generalizing. Even among supporters of the parties who made the decision, I see plenty of people thinking it's a stupid, symbolic idea. No doubt there are plenty of people unlike me, but there are plenty others like me who don't care the slightest bit how you look or what you believe in. The only thing that matters is how you behave.
  2. No spectators for the Danish contest. Maybe one minute before the first joke came. But so far I'm happy that I'm following Denmark and Sweden at the same time as so far I'm more impressed by Sweden.
  3. Well. The official idea is that it's how we do in Denmark. But in reality it's a symbolic thing just to stop some people from becoming citizens, after having heard a story or two about people who don't want to shake hands with people of the opposite sex. So far one person hasn't been given citizenship due to this. Several places has given the chance to decide who's hand to shake (which of course some politicians wants to forbid (at this point, you may right about some people here, @Khadidja Aisha )). It's purely symbolic to punch at people from other cultures.
  4. Indeed. Even a few mayors from the parties who decided that the handshakes were necessary (let's just say that my party wasn't among) have asked to have the ceremonies without the handshake in this situation. Now people start questioning what will happen if the people who were supposed to be awarded citizenship end up in a new situation before a new ceremony can be held (like losing their job)
  5. And one of the most stupid reactions to the Corona explained in a tweet: Let's just say that I'm not proud!
  6. Just joking with Trump's comments
  7. What? I thought it was contained!
  8. Next in line: Golf Men's European Tour Magical Kenya Open
  9. And Denmark joins the "no events above 1000 spectators" list for the rest of March.
  10. Not so surprisingly, the BMX European Cup rounds in Verona 28 and 29 march is postponed.
  11. And that should be Strade Bianche cancelled (or possibly just postponed) saturday
  12. Nah. A long wait would be half an hour here, but doesn't change the point that keeping polling open after hours isn't that unusual, though the amount of time would be pretty short.
  13. In Denmark the leader of the polling place has to check that there are no others wanting to vote before closing. In other words, if there were long lines, it would remain open.
  14. Yeah, sorry. The 3 days was for mail ballots to arrive. (as apparently they just need to be stamped today) Prioritize counting votes? Most countries are capable of doing so within 24 from closing the polling. It's not like we aren't able to do it right. Just because some states do a damn terrible job doing the same doesn't make it necessary to use a week or two to get accurate results.
  15. Nothing dumb about wanting to vote the actual day. The systems should be up for it But what's dumb is late arriving mail ballots. Seriously, taking possibly 3 extra days before we know how the actual result?
  16. Well. Milan isn't really free of Corona
  17. But well. Strongly considering staying up for the long haul. We'll see if I manage
  18. What about Tulsi Gabbard?
  19. Ineos sports director Nicolas Portal has died from a heart attack
  20. And we're at 10! 3 new cases coming from Italy and 1 from Iran meaning all are still getting it on their vacation.
  21. late updates, you know
  22. IJF Grand Prix in Rabat this weekend is next to fall
  23. Or maybe the 2 just understand that they can't win and won't risk the same as the GOP 4 years ago when internal fighting really helped Trump? Sure some forces in the party (and very possibly Biden's campaign as well) has most likely pushed for it but really? Bernie is an outsider who only sees himself as a democrat when running for president. It's part of the mechanism to be wary of such and really not of the first worries for the US democracy. Don't get me wrong, the DNC are nowhere near great democrats, but the drop-outs aren't really that unusual to a democratic movement.
  24. The 4th Danish case was btw already in quarantine as the person had been in contact with one of the first cases.
