  1. so, we're done with the Shotgun Shooting World Cup regular stages next in the schedule, the World Championships (all shooting disciplines) in Baku
  2. women's Individual Trap Gold: Laetisha Scanlan Silver: Fatima Galvez Bronze: Rumeysa Pelin Kaya
  3. yes, sir! I can hop, step and jump on the same exact tile! actually, I just can't go further than that single tile
  4. and that's the only team we beat in the preliminary stage is in the GMM meanwhile we're playing for 9th place
  5. 6. Men's Sub-21 World Championships in Manama Gold Medal match: vs Tomorrow @ 7 p.m. CET earlier Today, beat 3-1 (23-25, 25-22, 25-23, 25-18) in the 1st semifinal; beat 3-1 (23-25, 25-21, 25-21, 25-20) in the 2nd semifinal
  7. naaa...club baseball in Europe is really bad, I can tell you it's not even instructional league level KBO instead is definitely too much, they have their own professional season taking too much time to make the teams play more games
  8. nice attempt to steal the spot of the Caribbean Series (not a case that this tournament is going to feature CUB and COL -out of the current CS lineup- and a minor league US team + MEX, who are the WBSC's darling) to be precise: will host a Spring Training series (Red Sox vs Rays), meanwhile will host the actual League Opener between Dodgers and Padres (2 game-series on March 20th and 21st)
  9. I'd rather scratch the 800m from the pool schedule (at least there's enough difference to have different stars in 400m and 1500m instead of an easy double for the best middle distance specialists), changing the 10km with the 25km as the individual open water event at the Olympics and switching also the mixed gender relay from the pool (where it has no technical sense) to the open water (2M & 2W*2.5km, where men and women should swim in different legs, though...no chance to mix it up and make it a mess -way better the biathlon style rather than the current swimming rules) in any case, don't give the IOC the awful idea of dropping the open water swimming from the schedule...rather, try to develop better organizers and better tv producers for it
  10. well, with the new rules the advantage is really low, as all the others just need a not so tough OQT in the 1500m (which they can swim in short time, no need to wait until Doha 2024) great tactics by Beck, unfortunately for her the Paris race course will not allow any magic (it's basically a narrow channel, it's like swimming in a very long pool rather than true open water) I agree on Grimes being the favourite in Paris (but never underestimate the fast finishers like Cunha and Van Rouwendal on that kind of course) p.s. amazing race in general, but once again poor tv direction...I know it's not easy to shoot an event like this, but sometimes I have the feeling that they miss the basics of the job
  11. well, that's new compared to the past Olympics with these rules, I wonder why our team is so worried about getting the quota places tomorrow and Sunday they just need to swim a good 1500m, which is way easier than medalling in a world race, and they're in
  12. you're right, Paltrinieri has the OQT (I was thinking to the Italian standard time, which is faster than that) in any case, for him it's not a problem at all...nobody would even think of leaving him home next year (and he surely will swim faster in the pool once he gets the quota place in the 10km race) Taddeucci also will never swim the pool events in any case, for her they're just a training for the Open Water events
  13. the problem is that any quota place obtained in the pool doesn't count at all for the Olympic 10km race you have to earn your spot in the specific OQR for this discipline (Fukuoka and Doha, basically) in the women's 10km, however, I think there are only a few girls who already have a OQT in the pool: for sure, Katie Grimes, Anastasiia Kirpichnikova; then I'm not sure about Sharon Van Rouwendal, Leonie Beck. I think it's all. among the men, both and both swimmers and stop. I don't think the guys have a good 1500m/800m time (maybe Logan Fontaine, but it's improbable) and both our guys Paltrinieri and Acerenza this year haven't swam the OQT yet 'cause they're focusing on this race to earn the quota place (our technical director said without any problem that our target is getting all 4 quotas here in Fukuoka, without having to participate to the next world champs in Doha with the Olympians), but I'm pretty sure that they will get an OQT in the pool the first time they really swim that races seriously (and Paltrinieri is going to swim the 800m and 1500m in the pool at this world champ, so, it's just a matter of time) p.s. I'm surprised have not chosen Marc Antoine Olivier for the 10km race (but it looks it's just a disciplinary choice, rather than technical)
  14. if you have a vpn, Italian TV is showing almost everything: all about swimming, open water swimming, artistic swimming, diving and many waterpolo matches (20 from the prelims and all 24 from the knockout stage, both M and W tournaments) it's all on rai2 and / or raisport+ (check the daily schedule, ITA is +6 hrs compared to North American EDT) https://www.raiplay.it/guidatv?channel=rai-2&date=14-07-2023 p.s. picture quality is awful (720p @ 25 fps only)
  15. yes, but it's the fastest time between the 2 competitions it's like in athletics, you only need a strong performance and you're safe sure, if you miss the 1st event, then you have the shoulders against the wall in the 2nd one, but nothing is lost
  16. Men's Sub-21 World Championships in Manama the semifinals will be played by vs and vs
  17. why? 13 out of 16 spots in each and every relay event will be awarded next year in Doha only the teams winning a medal qualify through this championship...and for frankly that would be impossible in any case
  18. and with another flop (Benati...he was running 46 secs dead as a under-18, he's still there...he hasn't improved in all of his junior and post-junior years ) I'm done with this thing... back on Sunday for Larissa, the rest isn't worth the waste of time
  19. pretty much a disaster for so far from bad (the 100m boys) to worse (the 400m girls) only man to be saved, Kareem Mersal in the LJ competition (qualified to the final in 3rd place)
  20. mixed Team Skeet Gold: United States 1 (Austen Jewell Smith & Vincent Hancock) Silver: Chile 2 (Francisca Crovetto Chadid & Hector Andres Flores Barahona) Bronze: Kazakhstan 1 (Assem Orynbay & Eduard Yechshenko)
  21. yeah, almost losing to this team is not a good sign by the way, we're going worse and worse...the lack of size and athletic talent in the Italian basketball right now is really depressing we can't even take advantage of all the "new Italians" coming from the early generation of immigrants...even if they find the way to play some sports, that's not basketball (also the tallest and "biggest" guys)
  22. women's football will never become truly profitable look at what happened with the next world cup tv rights...basically Infantino had to give them for free to all the big European Nations after the European Parliament "asked" them to at least find a place in their schedules to enforce the hypocrite "gender equality" policy at continental level otherwise, all of the main European broadcasters already sent FIFA to fuck off...
  23. yes, they already came back to the Tokyo format in the Baku WC stage in May the EGs were managed by ESC (even if they were also sanctioned by ISSF as OQT), so it might be that they didn't apply the restoration yet
