  1. there are 3 different back-up systems... it's basically impossible that the clockings are wrong... they're just flying...it remains to be seen if they're doin' it fairly or not...
  2. 1.05.69 c'mon, man! this is beyond imagination... and on Thursday he did suffer a dislocated shoulder after a fall in the Team Sprint...
  3. not that the 6.48 by Zuyeva is "routine", too...
  4. 6.39.01!!! unbelievable record by Voronina...
  5. Blondin edges out Weidemann, but both are way behind Sablikova and also a bit behind Visser (who should be safe at this point)... frankly, I expected a lot more from Weidemann...
  6. by the way, WR by Sablikova... 17th world gold medal coming for her...
  7. yeah, Shane Dobbin and his multiple world titles in the sprint distances of roller skating are the best example of that...
  8. new WR for Sablikova incoming... and if Visser really gets DQ, it's gonna be a truly painful DQ...
  9. I fear Visser is going to be DQ...

  12. I only have one thing to say about today's outcome...
  13. not the best opener for the Italian swimmers...all of our main specialists were not ready to face the hard fight of the final meters and got only average placings... Arianna Bridi, who missed out on the Olympic qualification and has the world cup success as her main target of the season was just edged out by the 3 girls on the podium in the final sprint finishing 4th, meanwhile Rachele Bruni, our only Olympic weapon in the women's event, finished 6th, 3 secs behind the girls who made the podium... among the men, Paltrinieri couldn't resist the final forcing by Olivier and the 2 German guys and ended up only 5th, 14 secs behind the winner... our other Olympic hope, Mario Sanzullo, ended up in the middle of the main group, 20th place, about 20 secs behind Olivier... p.s. now I'm curious to see how much time it takes FINA to update their website with the full results...
  14. Stage #1 (Doha, QAT) men's 10km Gold: Marc-Antoine Olivier Silver: Rob Muffels Bronze: Florian Wellbrock (5th, Gregorio Paltrinieri)
  15. after surviving Demirtas, Frank Chamizo today took the concept of "destroying" an opponent to a new level... in the second round bout, he literally carried Gadzhiyev on his shoulders and slammed him on the mat with a "reverse"... the poor Azeri even suffered a bad injury to his elbow because of the hard landing and basically had to let Chamizo pin him (he was shouting because of pain, not caring of anything else) before the doctor jumped on the mat to help him... Azerbaijan's coach didn't look very happy for what happened, but I don't think Chamizo did anything wrong, their guy was just unlucky to end up in that dangerous position...

  18. Bassino and Brignone paid quite a good prize to their physical troubles from earlier this week, but I don't think they could have done anything against today's possessed 2nd run by Robinson...
  19. Russian sweep is gone...
  20. IBU finds Russian biathletes Sleptsova and Ustyugov guilty of anti-doping violations Russia biathletes Svetlana Sleptsova and Evgeny Ustyugov - both of whom won Olympic gold medals during their careers - have been found guilty of anti-doping violations by the International Biathlon Union (IBU). Ustyugov and Russia are set to be stripped of Sochi 2014 relay gold as a result. The IBU's Anti-Doping Hearing Panel found that both athletes were in breech of regulations based on analysis of the Moscow Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) database. An IBU statement said Ustyugov had "committed an Article 2.2 ADRV [anti-doping rule violation] under the 2012 IBU Anti-Doping Rules" by using the prohibited substance oxandrolone, while Sleptsova had also "committed an Article 2.2 ADRV under the 2012 IBU Anti-Doping Rules" by using the prohibited substance ostarine. Ustyugov's results from August 27 2013 through to the end of the 2013-2014 World Cup season will be disqualified, which includes the 2014 Winter Olympic Games. Sleptsova's results from March 22 2013 through to the end of the 2013-2014 World Cup season will also be disqualified. The pair have also been handed two-year bans, although both are already retired. According to Russia's official state news agency TASS, Ustyugov filed a lawsuit against the IBU in the Austrian state court after the charges were announced. He is a double Olympic gold medallist, having won the mass start at Vancouver 2010 and also picked up a bronze in the relay at those Games. Sleptsova won an Olympic gold medal in the women's relay in 2010. More follows. from Insidethegames.biz more details... https://www.biathlonworld.com/news/detail/ibu-anti-doping-hearing-panel-renders-verdicts-on-sleptsova-and-ustyugov
