  1. yeah... you Karate federation apparently is more powerful within the WKF/EKF than within the French NOC/Paris LOCOG...
  2. you just skipped the part "with such margin"... I do also believe that they're better runners than European and American people...but c'mon! a full lap of the track between an average East African runner (it doesn't matter which passport he/she's using of course) and the best in the rest of the world? no way... by the way, I just read on the Italian press that in the first days of the championships the weather forecast is going up to 48° C at 8 p.m. local time... and the women's Marathon + both 50km Race Walking events (men and women are racing together in that competition) are going to be cancelled (not postponed, just cancelled) if the temperature goes really that high (the final decision will be taken only 1 hour before the supposed start of the race in all cases)...
  3. Australia are just on another planet...there's no really decisive game for the top place in this tournament... the real fight is CHN vs TPE for the runner-up place (good for nothing)...
  4. and Ethiopia is no different as well... or does someone really believe that they are "superior runners" (with such margin on the rest of the world) by nature?
  5. that! there's no prize for that! by the way, raisport will cover the championships minute by minute...and if they don't make it a mess (which is always possible with our national tv ) there's more than a chance you can get the streaming on demand with the pasty.link system as it happened for the swimming worlds...
  6. for sure it's unfair...and personally I don't like this kind of approach to the management of the sport... but I wouldn't say "cheating", as the WKF has always been very vague about the calendar, saying that changes would be possible at any time... in any case, it's only 1 event giving up some points in the OQR, not direct quota places...so, the damage is limited (not that this is good, but at least it's not that disgraceful)...otherwise it would have been more than cheating, a true scandal...

  8. yes, as @Dunadan wrote, there have been a few switches in the calendar, so some 2019 events that were supposed to count for the ranking will be replaced by the 2020 "newly" scheduled events... for Italy, it's bad news for Busà (but I'm sure he's going to win a medal also in 2020 EChs, so, in the end it won't make any difference) and maybe also for Crescenzo (but I think the silver medal of 2019 was an average achievement, he's definitely the best European guy in that class, with only Samdan close to him...so, the bad news is more that the Turkish guy can make up more points in 2020 than he did in 2019, not Crescenzo losing his points from this year's tournament)... but it's also a good thing for Semeraro (who now can score more points than the 2019 edition, with Quirici and Zaretska maybe losing also some of theirs) and for those who are looking for points so to have a better seeding at the final OQT (Martina and Cardin, mainly) and in 2019 for one reason or another weren't even at the start of the EChs... however, I fear that most of all, it's France who are going to benefit from this switch (and I'm pretty sure it was their proposal to make that change happen)...
  9. don't forget Aaron Hernandez...one of the saddest stories in the NFL history (even if his troubles had nothing to do with the game of football)...
  10. very disappointing last Serie A tournament of the year for Italy...we were there with the full team and we only managed 2 bronze medals in Kumite with our stars Busà and Crescenzo (but the fact that he lost 8-0 to Samdan, who eventually won the tournament, makes his 3rd place a lot worse than it actually looks) and a few bitter 5th places... even Bottaro in the women's Kata this week lost to Hikaru Ono (who she beat 2 weeks ago in Tokyo in the last K1PL stage)...at least, her ranking is still solid like a rock (and anyway, all of her opponents ended behind her this week)...

  13. yes, it was Iran that was forced to leave some of their medal candidates home when Manchester hosted the World Taekwondo Championships last Spring...
  14. you have to wait until the next WBC starts for that... no MLB players will be in Tokyo next year...and I wonder if even the Japanese NPB will get a break (or at least leave some of their players free) to take part into the games (I read somewhere that they won't, too...but there's still nothing official, as there are a lot of lobbies in Japan that want NPB players to be in the Olympic Tournament)... on the other side, Korean KBO will surely send their best players to the Games (in case KOR qualify, of course)...they even shut their star pitchers down in the last weeks of RS and the entire PO this year in order to give him proper rest before the WBSC Premier 12... http://www.wbsc.org/kia-tigers-shut-down-star-pitcher-hyeon-jong-yang-to-rest-ahead-of-wbsc-premier12/ p.s. after last night's brawl, ITA and ESP have been punished quite hard by WBSC... http://www.wbsc.org/a-total-of-67-games-of-suspension-issued-after-spain-italy/
