  3. why? it's a wonderful sport... sure, Ice Hockey is always the best sport in the world, but also this "diminutive version" has its own charm...
  4. yeah, but always for Belgium, if they play field hockey
  5. don't forget losing 10-1 against in 1982
  6. in the World Cup tournament, it was the 6-1 against (France 1998) overall, it's a 13-0 once again vs in 1933 https://www.goal.com/es/noticias/las-diez-mayores-goleadas-de-la-seleccion-espanola/v866w5dtkv641ei9c1bahuc12
  7. Football, men's tournament...chapeau to superiority in 2004, but to me the tournaments after WWII don't have the same value than those before, which were the only ones played by the truly best teams and players available. therefore, I pick Italy 1936, 'cause I'm heavily biased (especially during those WC days) and 'cause that was really a great team (World Champions in 1934 and 1938, too), as a more serious vote should go to Uruguay 1924 & 1928, when they were a real football machine...unstoppable. Volleyball, men's tournament...what the hell? the greatest team ever ( Italy in the Nineties) has never won an Olympic Gold medal...why should I vote for some teams that weren't as good? OK, that's a game, so I pick the team that won most of the medals we should have gotten, Brazil 1992, 2004 and 2016. and tbh, those teams were great as well, not that they didn't deserve all of their success... Volleyball, women's tournament...this is a no brainer, Cuba 1992, 1996, 2000 was something special, most likely the highest point ever reached by the sport of Volleyball in the women's division. Fencing, women's Team Foil...once again, Italy 1992, 1996, 2000 (and morally, 2004...if only it wasn't for the most cruel, stupid, criminal rule ever applied to the Olympic sports, the weapons' rotation in the team events ) are and will always be unmatched in this discipline. Fencing, men's Team Sabre...this one, instead, is a very difficult choice, as we have quite a few really great dinasties that surely deserve at least a mention of Honor. was amazing in the early part of last Century, Podzniakov's Russia in the Nineties was remarkable (and almost unbeatable), but honestly, I think that the current generation of South Korea 2012, 2020 (and morally, 2016, if not for the same rule that heavily penalized Italy in the women's Foil) truly represent the best team ever in modern Sabre, which is to be considered more competitive that the heroic age's, at least because of the way bigger competition there's now compared to may years ago.
  8. Simone Sabbioni (Swimming) got a 20-month ban (starting from 23 March 2022) because of whereabouts rules infringement (3 missed tests). Source (in Italian): https://www.oasport.it/2022/11/nuoto-simone-sabbioni-patteggia-con-la-procura-antidoping-20-mesi-di-stop/?refresh_ce

  12. well, my previous post, I mean...
  13. see above...
  14. 2010 World Cup vs in the afternoon and vs at night (even if it was the last day of the group stage, therefore there were 2 other matches at the same time both in the afternoon and at night, but still it's double 0-0 in 2 consecutive time slots of the same day).
  15. lucky people! for sure it would be better than actually watching this afternoon's matches of the WC...
  16. Karate senior season came to an end with last Serie A tournament in Jakarta (unless we consider January's Athens tournament still part of the 2022 season, which looks like WKF does). Participation was, as expected, very poor, to say the least. However, this is how it went: Karate 1 Serie A Stage #4 ( Jakarta) Medallists Recap Women's Individual Kata Gold: Saeko Azuma Silver: Emiri Iwamoto Bronze #1: Sekar Damayanti Bronze #2: Mirisa Ohuchi Women's Team Kata Gold: Indonesia "A" Silver: Indonesia "B" Bronze #1: Cambodia Bronze #2: Malaysia Men's Individual Kata Gold: Aoi Funada Silver: Mohammad Hussain Bronze #1: Eiji Otsuki Bronze #2: Hazel Ramadhan Men's Team Kata Gold: Indonesia "A" Silver: Indonesia "B" Bronze #1: Peru Bronze #2: Kuwait Women's Individual Kumite, -50kg Gold: Shahmalarani Chandran Silver: Annisa Nur Anggraini Bronze #1: Seri Devi Bronze #2: Solomiya Kmit Women's Individual Kumite, -55kg Gold: Assemgul Yerdaulet Silver: Gulmira Ussenova Bronze #1: Madina sadigova Bronze #2: Gulsen Demirturk Women's Individual Kumite, -61kg Gold: Reem Khamis Silver: Nina Radjenovic Bronze #1: Mihaela Malauta Miruna Bronze #2: Ku Tsui-Ping Women's Individual Kumite, -68kg Gold: Laura Alikul Silver: Sara Deuble Bronze #1: Georgia Zefanya Ceyco Bronze #2: Mandy Yap Women's Individual Kumite, +68kg Gold: Dessynta Rakawuni Silver: Hannah Sullivan Bronze #1: Selina Stamer Bronze #2: Nikola Bartha Men's Individual Kumite, -60kg Gold: Aymane Takzima Silver: Daulet Shymyrbekov Bronze #1: Nizamiddin Khalmatov Bronze #2: Sena Kondo Men's Individual Kumite, -67kg Gold: Pranay Sharma Silver: Davyd Yanovskyi Bronze #1: Hiroki Nakano Bronze #2: Shih Cheng-Chung Men's Individual Kumite, -75kg Gold: Hamza Turulja Silver: Mohamed Ahmed Mohamed Aboudabous Bronze #1: Oleksandr Cheniaiev Bronze #2: Enes Bulut Men's Individual Kumite, -84kg Gold: Rikito Shimada Silver: Yuta Mori Bronze #1: Andrii Toroshanko Bronze #2: Aykhan Mamayev Men's Individual Kumite, +84kg Gold: Rijad Dzuho Silver: Fumiya Yoshimura Bronze #1: Sandi Firmansyah Bronze #2: Nurniyaz Yeldashov
  17. yeah, but that's about the numbers...the German win itself was not out of order. we're talking of teams winning matches that nobody would expect to happen. no doubt that it was really painful (and somehow "unforgettable"), though.
  18. I agree on the top 2, but today's score is nothing compared to 1950 decisive match 1:2 and also a few more upsets in the history of the WC are comparable to this one...
  19. but Pepe really looks like that!
  20. well, I can understand your feeling...especially after twice in a row not even qualifying to the party...
  21. I fear that there will be enough for all the people in the stands, with all players, coaches and officials grilled at the same time... p.s. more seriously, I hope nothing stupid happens in the Country after such a disappointing start of the day...
  22. top of the week!
  23. if I think that a team like Wales (not wanna mention the non-European teams, as they rightly have their reserved spots) is playing the world Cup and Italy are playing the clown role in some meaningless "friendlies", I just have the unstoppable temptation to throw something big and heavy out of my window...
