  6. 16 Nations with at least a medal, 8 of them with at least 1 Gold. and 4 Continents represented (5 if we consider the Panamerican Continent split into North/Central and South America), only Oceania missing. all this, thanks to only 10 events. I really want to see if there's still someone throwing sh*t on Fencing, saying that's not a truly global sport.
  7. ehm... and ended up behind the chalkboard in the men's Sabre... destroyed and just edged out at the last hit. semis are vs and vs in the women's Sabre, it's the mostly expected vs for Gold and vs for Bronze in the men's Epee, vs is the GMM, meanwhile and are fighting for Bronze in the women's Epee, as already written, it's vs for Gold and vs for Bronze finally, in the men's Foil, the GMM is the great classic of the last 10 years, vs meanwhile the BMM is vs so, is the only team making the top 4 in all of today's 5 events (twice in the GMM, twice in the BMM and once still TBD, but sure of the top 4). are in 3 GMMs and 1 BMM, but also once out of the semifinals and are once in the GMM, once in the BMM and once TBD, but sure of the top 4.
  8. vs for Gold in the women's team Epee... are in the top 4 in all of today's events already through to that stage... in the men's team Sabre we're still waiting for the quarterfinals to start (where we have a very interesting vs matchup).
  9. naaaa...the correct claim is: "7 hours of commercial-free football start now!" (and it's every Sunday at 7 p.m. CET) otherwise you have to pay for the royalties...
  10. even if I don't like rain, I agree about the temperature...I'd like to have 10° C 365 days/year (366 once every 4 years ).
  12. earlier Today, history has been made in Florence. Italy defeated Australia for the very first time in the history of the game. 28-27 the final score, with the Aussie missing well beyond the 80th minute a not-so-difficult conversion that would have given them an undeserved win. but Today the Gods of Rugby decided that once in a lifetime justice had to prevail.
  13. nice start of the 2022/2023 World Cup for Italy... medals coming from 4 out of 5 events (and in the men's Epee, despite no medals, we still have 3 guys in the quarterfinals), one Gold. we did even get a medal in the women's individual Sabre, which is very rare (have to admit that this is the weapon that most feels the Russian ban). only truly disappointing result is Marini's loss to his teammate Bianchi in the second round of the men's Foil. let's see how the team events go tomorrow...missing the top 4 even in a single weapon must be counted as an upset and a disapponting result.
  14. Women's Individual Epee ( Tallinn) Gold: Alberta Santuccio Silver: Marie-Florence Candassamy Bronze: Song Se Ra & Zhu Mingye Semifinals Santuccio b. Zhu 11-6 Candassamy b. Song 15-13 Final Santuccio b. Candassamy 15-11 Full Ranking & Results https://fie.org/competitions/2023/80?tab=results
  15. Men's Individual Epee ( Bern) Gold: Tibor Andrasfi Silver: John Edison Rodriguez Bronze: Luigi Midelton & Koki Kano Semifinals Andrasfi b. Kano 15-11 Rodriguez b. Midelton 15-12 Final Andrasfi b. Rodriguez 12-11 Full Ranking & Results https://fie.org/competitions/2023/385?tab=results
  16. Men's Individual Foil ( Bonn) Gold: Kyosuke Matsuyama Silver: Alessio Foconi Bronze: Enzo Lefort & Marcus Mepstead Semifinals Matsuyama b. Lefort 15-12 Foconi b. Mepstead 15-8 Final Matsuyama b. Foconi 15-11 Full Ranking & Results https://fie.org/competitions/2023/1406?tab=results
  17. Men's Individual Sabre ( Algiers) Gold: Sandro Bazadze Silver: Luigi Samele Bronze: Bolade Apithy & Ziad Elsissy Semifinals Bazadze b. Elsissy 15-13 Samele b. Apithy 15-11 Final Bazadze b. Samele 15-13 Full Ranking & Results https://fie.org/competitions/2023/1410?tab=results
  18. p.s. the last group of medallists in the other sports are comin'up in the early days of next week (the WSG end tomorrow).
  19. Argentina will face Portugal in the men's Rink Hockey Gold Medal match. defeated 5-0 and beat 4-1 in yesterday's semifinals. the women's Rink Hockey Gold Medal match, instead, is a revenge fight between and , with the spanish girls trying to win the title on the opponents' soil after Argentina did it in Barcelona 3 years ago. and will battle for Bronze.
  20. this season came to an end just a few hours ago in Eilat. the women's race was won by Chesea Gubecka ahead of Marcela Cunha and Leonie Beck. the men's race (and the whole series) was won by Gregorio Paltrinieri. Today he anticipated at the sprint finish Marc-Antoine Olivier and David Betlehem. yesterday, the last team relay of the season was won by France, ahead of Australia 1 and Italy 1.
  21. now THIS link works perfectly (no registration/no vpn)... https://tv.nrk.no/serie/skiskyting/202211/MSPO40500222/avspiller
  22. this is the link, but I just found out that on my PC it doesn't work unless I register and log in. https://www.nrk.no/sport/skiskyting_-kvinner-1.11558946 on the other hand, I have the NRK app on my android tv and it works without any registration/vpn...frankly, I don't understand why? and their politics... p.s. don't open this link...high danger of spoiler!
  23. to watch any event on NRK, you have to wait for them to upload in the sport section (then, you don't even need a vpn). any streaming launched from from their TV guide never work, unless you're registered to their website with a Norwegian Bank ID (which is impossible to get, unless you live there), even the basic registration (free) is not enough.
  24. it was a really tough match, played in an amazing atmosphere. in the end, the experienced Spanish players won at the OT and now Italy are really in trouble, as we have to win at least 2 more matches, first in Georgia (and this team doesn't have both size and power to match our rivals) and then at home against Ukraine (our bete noir, who beat us in Milan at the recent European Champs). I don't even think about winning the last match in Spain...it's basically impossible. we're seriously risking to throw 3 years away.
  25. Italian Winter Nationals (Short Course) best of Day #2 (Afternoon Session) women's 100m IM 1. Costanza Cocconcelli, 59"24* women's 200m Fly 1. Ilaria Cusinato, 2'06"09 men's 200m Back 1. Lorenzo Mora, 1'50"23* women's 200m Breast 1. Martina Carraro, 2'21"11 2. Francesca Fangio, 2'21"32 3. Lisa Angiolini, 2'21"97 men's 50m Free 1. Leonardo Deplano, 21"38* 2. Alessandro Miressi, 21"40* women's 100m Back 1. Silvia Scalia, 56"78** men's 800m Free 1. Davide Marchello, 7'41"49 2. Filippo Bertoni, 7'41"56 3. Luca De Tullio, 7'42"73 women's 1500m Free 1. Simona Quadarella, 15'41"79* men's 200 IM 1. Alberto Razzetti, 1'54"06* women's 100m Free 1. Chiara Tarantino, 53"35 2. Costanza Cocconcelli, 53"55* * = swimmers already qualified to the SC Worlds (based on previous results) ** = swimmers who matched the required time to qualify to the SC Worlds Ilaria Cusinato is a strange case: she swam the required time in the W 200m Fly at the Berlin WC stage, but that wasn't a sanctioned meet. in Genua and here she didn't match any required mark, but she got close and won both races with comfortable margin. then she swam the required time in the W 200m IM, but she was only 3rd in that race. I'm really curious to see what the coaches are going to do with her. Personally, I think she deserves to fly to the SC Worlds.
