  1. 4 men in the quarterfinals (and no head-to-head between them, so, potentially, it could be a clean sweep at the end of the day...even if it's highly unlikely) Nadya Ochner, retiring after today's race, is also among the last 8 in the women's race (unfortunately she fell in her QF heat, so she'll end in a place between 5th through 8th). as usual, very unfair courses, with people on the red course winning all the races (unless they make a big mistake) the only snowboarder losing a heat on the red course without making apparent mistakes was Lucia Dalmasso, a pathetic loser that now is our best PGS specialist left
  2. just one remarkable news in the women's +87kg class Mary Anne Theisen Lappen wins Gold with 120-163-283kg, improving her best Total by 6kg and overtaking by 1 kilo her compatriot Sarah Robles in the OQR. Now she's the best American lifter in this class (5th useful place). Duangaksorn Chaidee won Today's Silver with 121-152-273kg, but she didn't improve her best Total in the OQR. Still, she's 4th in the OQR, so, her qualification is definitely not in danger. Also Iuniarra Sipaia, despite the overall Bronze medal in Today's event, didn't improve her best Total in the OQR, but mantained her 9th useful place in that ranking. That's all from the women's competitions in the Grand Prix II in Doha. Later Today, the last event of this tournament, the men's Superheavyweights.
  3. Grand Prix II ( Doha) women's +87kg Gold: Mary Anne Theisen Lappen (283kg Total) Silver: Duangaksorn Chaidee (273kg Total) Bronze: Iuniarra Sipaia (262kg Total)
  4. IWF and SPORTFIVE renovate partnership for 2024-2028 The IWF and SPORTFIVE have renovated their partnership for the Olympic cycle 2024-2028, thus re-appointing the German-based company as the exclusive media rights agency on a global basis. Under this agreement, SPORTFIVE will be responsible for handling the media international rights (outside the Host Country) for the IWF World Championships, IWF World Cups, and IWF World Junior Championships during this period. Following the recent IWF Executive Board meeting in Doha, where the IWF Grand Prix II is taking place until December 14, 4 major competitions are already part of this package: in 2024, the IWF World Championships in Manama, in 2025, the IWF World Championships in Forde and the IWF World Junior Championships in Tashkent, and in 2026 the IWF World Championships in Ningbo. SPORTFIVE has been firstly appointed by the IWF as exclusive media rights partner for the period 2022-2024.
  5. NON-Olympic action in the forelast day of the Grand Prix II in Doha and man, Today's events were really modest. in the women's -87kg class, Hripsime Khurshudyan won Gold with a 106-126-232kg line, which wouldn't have been enough for a medal in the -59kg class Anamjan Rustamova won Silver lifting just 1 kilo less in Total than the Armenian, while a further kilo down the score of the girl from , Tatem Hakobyan earned Bronze. obviously, no score is good enough to be taken into consideration for the OQR. in the men's -109kg class, Dadash Dadashbayli won Gold with a Total of 388kg. But the biggest achievement of the day, though, was Taniela Rainibogi’s show of strength in the men’s 109kg. In making six-from-six for a huge career best of 170-210-380kg, Rainibogi became the first male lifter from to win a medal at a global competition. There have been medals in Oceania and Commonwealth events, but none in a competition open to the world. Rainibogi improved his best snatch by 5kg, C&J by 18kg and total by 23kg and finished 3rd behind Dadashbayli and Bekdoolot Rasulbekov, who won C&J gold with a career-best lift of 219kg and Silver on Total with 381kg. Also in this case, however, no score is even close to climb in the top 25 of the OQR. Tomorrow the GP II ends with the Superheavyweights, both in the women and men's categories.
  6. so, for the 2nd time ever (previously, 2018/2019 season), in the last 4 we have 4 teams coming from 4 different Nations (Leagues), the 4 best European leagues (KHL apart, but they never participated to the CHL) now it looks a true Champions League

  11. Women's Qualifiers Skaters advancing to the Quarterfinals Also Pre-Qualified to the Quarterfinals
  12. because it's already reserved for the Football tournaments tbh, they could use the smaller stadium used by the Paris club team in their domestic league, Top 14 (which was the original plan, but it looks that they had too many tickets requests and decided to move the Sevens tournaments to the biggest stadium available)
  13. it happens...don't worry
  14. but she's a freeski specialist, not a snowboarder however, a true snowboarder, Nadya Ochner, has announced her retirement. the PGS in Carezza on Thursday will be her last competition.
  15. in the women's -81kg class, the only remarkable score came from the eventual winner, Liang Xiaomei, who consolidated her position at the top of the OQR thanks to her Total of 284kg, increasing her margin over the strongest contender, her teammate Wang Zhouyu (who got Today's Silver). Today's Bronze medal winner, Eileen Chikamatana, improved her score in the OQR by 1 kilo (up to 261kg), but kept her position (7th overall, 5th "useful"). Unfortunately, no other remarkable lift was recorded Today, therefore there are no further changes at the top positions of the OQR.
  16. "Nemo profeta in Patria" people used to say in the ancient times... but sometimes that's not exactly true. Earlier Today, in fact, local hero Fares Elbakh triumphed in the men's -102kg class with a very solid performance, lifting 400kg in Total (176-224-400kg his final line) and defeating the reigning world champion, Liu Huanhua, who only lifted 398kg in Total (176-222-398kg his line), compared to the 404kg he lifted last September at the World Championships. The Bronze medal went to the 2023 European champion Garik Karapetyan, who lifted 180-211-391kg. In terms of OQR, Elbakh moves up to the 2nd place overall (from 6th), meanwhile the real winner of Today's event is Tudor Bratu, who was 4th with a Total of 390kg (175-215-390kg) and jumped from nowhere straight into the 9th useful position. The unlucky lifter of the day, instead, is Brian Wesley Kitts, who momentarily drops from 10th to 11th place in the OQR, the first man under the qualification line.
  17. Grand Prix II ( Doha) men's -102kg Gold: Fares Ibrahim Elbakh (400kg Total) Silver: Liu Huanhua (398kg Total) Bronze: Garik Karapetyan (391kg Total)
  18. Grand Prix II ( Doha) women's -81kg Gold: Liang Xiaomei (284kg Total) Silver: Wang Zhouyu (268kg Total) Bronze: Eileen Floanna Maria Chikamatana (261kg Total)
  19. do you really think Salvini knows anything about that? he's the most idiot among that bunch of idiots trying to destroy our Country...he doesn't know even what Meloni and her accolades are doing (and they're part of the same government) be sure that if and when he says something, then the outcome can only be the opposite

  23. in terms of sports expertise they count for less than 0, however this is the winners' list of the "Gazzetta Sports Awards", the yearly sport recognition organized by the (in)famous newspaper with the pink pages.
