  1. yes, all of Today's team events are also OQTs
  2. did you really think he could leave the LA area?
  3. He admitted his error in the 200m IM (not touching with both hands in a turn), but he definitely denied the second fly kick after a turn in the 100m IM yesterday and more in general, there are too many DQs...it looks that all swimmers can't swim anymore (those of swimswam know swimming very well, but they are also really biased towards Ceccon...it's not the first time they write bad comments about him )
  4. Later I'm going to post the new updated OQR...stay tuned!

  8. and French double also in the Epee individual tournaments in Vancouver! now I'm starting to be really worried...I fear will destroy the field in Paris

  10. VAR is definitely killing this sport it was supposed to be used just to catch some blatant cheaters using the fly kick more than once in the breaststroke races, but it's become a farce... according to this tournament's judges, there are a lot of swimmers that can't swim and make turns (including multiple world champions like Thomas Ceccon) as if it was a 7-year young kids' competition
  11. only NON-Olympic action Today in Doha and swept both the women's -64kg and the men's -81kg classes in the women's -64kg, the 20-year-old lifter Ri Suk broke seven junior world records in five good lifts. When she made 146kg on her final attempt, she also bettered the senior C&J world record set 4 years ago by Deng Wei, the Chinese star who won Olympic gold and 5 world titles before retiring in 2020. Her 264kg Total is only 2kg shy of Deng's WR. Silver also went to thanks to Rim Um Sim, who lifted 113-141-254 kg. Meanwhile Ruth Ayodele won the Bronze medal with 98-120-218 kg. in the men's -81kg, Ri Chong Song and Erwin Rahmat Abdullah had an epic fight, but at the end the man from missed the 214kg lift that would have given him the gold medal and a new C&J world record also in this weight class. Finally, Ri won the gold medal with 374kg Total ahead of Abdullah with 362kg. Both these scores are a lot better than Oscar Reyes' winning effort at the last world championships back in September. Today's bronze medal went to Gaygysyz Torayev with a modest Total of 338kg.
  12. meanwhile in Vancouver, total disaster for the female epee specialists (all the team members out in the early rounds) and the men's event doesn't look promising, too (even if Di Veroli survived a big scare in the 1st round and together with Vismara are still in play in the round of 32, but the rest of the team has long gone)
  13. Women's Individual Foil ( Novi Sad) Gold: Alice Volpi Silver: Lee Kiefer Bronze: Leonie Ebert & Jessica Guo Zi Jia Semifinals Volpi b. Guo 15-6 Kiefer b. Ebert 15-9 Final Volpi b. Kiefer 15-13 Full Ranking & Results https://fie.org/competitions/2024/125?tab=results
  14. Women's Individual Sabre GP ( Orleans) Gold: Manon Brunet-Apithy Silver: Olga Kharlan Bronze: Sara Balzer & Cecilia Berder Semifinals Brunet-Apithy b. Balzer 15-8 Kharlan b. Berder 15-11 Final Brunet-Apithy b. Kharlan 15-12 Full Ranking & Results https://fie.org/competitions/2024/152?tab=results
  15. Men's Individual Sabre GP ( Orleans) Gold: Matyas Szabo Silver: Maxime Pianfetti Bronze: Pietro Torre & Sebastien Patrice Semifinals Szabo b. Torre 15-10 Pianfetti b. Patrice 15-11 Final Szabo b. Pianfetti 15-10 Full Ranking & Results https://fie.org/competitions/2024/158?tab=results
  16. no, because it's Tomorrow + 3 more...and since they already have 2, it makes 6 however, as I wrote, I think the last one of those 6 won't count towards qualification...we'll see how FIE manages that
  17. @MHSN FIE have fixed that men's Sabre now actually has 3 more Team competitions in the OQP: Tbilisi (11/02/2024), Padua (3/3/2024) and Budapest (24/3/2024) on the other hand, it's still uclear why also the women's Team Foil has 3 more events in early 2024, when Tomorrow the 3rd OQT is already scheduled (most likely, the tournament in on April 21st, 2024 won't count towards the Olympic Qualification, but nobody has said/written anything about it)
  18. festival in Orleans in the Sabre Grand Prix there are 2 Frenchmen in the men's semifinals (and they face each other, so 1 is guaranteed the final) and 3 in the women's semifinals Men's Semis: Sebastien Patrice vs Maxime Pianfetti & Pietro Torre vs Matyas Szabo Women's Semis: Sara Balzer vs Manon Brunet-Apithy & Cecilia Berder vs Olga Kharlan the Final Four are scheduled for 6.30 p.m. CET (live on Youtube)
  19. Men's Individual Foil ( Tokoname) Gold: Alexander Massialas Silver: Mohamed Hamza Bronze: Edoardo Luperi & Ryan Choi Chun Yin Semifinals Massialas b. Choi 15-8 Hamza b. Luperi 15-13 Final Massialas b. Hamza 15-4 Full Ranking & Results https://fie.org/competitions/2024/135?tab=results
  20. afaik Poland is part of EU unfortunately, Italy is also another place where the vs conflict is still on top of the headlines (actually, here anything's good not to talk of the Italian people's daily troubles...so, you only find international conflicts and women/family murders on our media)
  21. also at youth level and other tournaments
  22. not "apparently"... https://www.nbcsports.com/olympics/news/toni-eggert-sascha-benecken-luge-retire
  23. well, that's another story Old Italian IOC Member Franco Carraro said that most likely there won't be any high ranking official to the Opening Ceremony because they (and also the organizers, even if they will never admit that) are afraid of a possible terrorist attack by the Islamic supporters related to the vs Hamas (& friends) current situation the only people outside and still talking of that conflict are those idiots running the EU, nobody else cares about that anymore
  24. spoiler, and athletes have alredy faced athletes in Wrestling and Judo this year...and nothing really unfair happened both on and off the mat the only shameful episode was the Kharlan case at the Fencing Worlds last Summer...and it was just a political farce fixed in a couple of days after the social media shitstorm that hit FIE for being senselessly pro-Russian, nothing remarkable actually happened on the piste
