  1. well, day #14 & #15 with the Breakedance events are unbeatable, of course but tbh, also day #-2, when it all starts, has always a lot of hype (even if it's only about a few not so exciting Football games and that farce named Rugby Sevens in this case)
  2. 2024 season of Karate 1 Premier League to take Karate's first-class events to new heights The 2023 season of the Karate 1-Premier League was a true celebration of the tremendous appeal of the sport, following the success of the tournaments that were held in Cairo, Rabat, Fukuoka and Dublin. The new year of Karate 1-Premier League will take Karate’s biggest events to Paris, Antalya, Cairo and Casablanca. The first event will take place in France’s Capital, and it will be held in January. The tournaments in and will be held in April and May, respectively, while the closing event of the season will take place in biggest city on the first days of June. FULL CALENDAR OF THE 2024 SEASON The 2024 Karate 1-Premier League will open a new era in the biggest events of the sport, not only for the growing interest and popularity of the events. The competition inaugurates the qualification for the 2025 World Individual Senior Championships, as the tournaments of the Karate 1-Premier League in 2024 will be included in the standings of Karate’s historic event to be held in Cairo in 2025. Moreover, as a result of the agreement between the WKF with major TV producing company MEDIAPRO, the events in 2024 will also initiate a new stage in the production of Karate events for TV, with many updates to be expected to further increase the popularity and global appeal of the sport. Among the many updates on the event, a new competition programme* has been established to maximise the presentation of the event. The closing event of the season in Casablanca will crown the new Grand Winners. Considered the best of the year in the Karate 1-Premier League, the Grand Winners are the leaders of the Karate 1 standings in each category. The Grand Winners have the right to wear the special karategi with the golden embroidery on the shoulder the following season. Fans can expect to watch all the action of the Karate 1-Premier League as it happens. The eliminations of all the Karate 1-Premier League events will be available LIVE on the WKF YouTube channel. 3. this week it's all about Wintersports (Alpine Skiing), Hockey (Spengler Cup, World Juniors & NHL) and American Football (NFL & NCAA Bowls)
  4. Athletics, ex-world champion Bosse calls time on athletics career https://www.france24.com/en/live-news/20231226-france-s-ex-world-champion-bosse-calls-time-on-athletics-career
  5. I'd rather watch Padel than Rugby Union
  6. my 2 cents...
  7. basically, it's desertion
  8. last night was just one of those nights one "Michigan" wasn't enough...
  9. Merry Christmas to all who celebrate, but also to all those who consider this just one day like any other... might peace, health, happyness make your life more enjoyable
  10. Parallel Slalom WC Davos, Switzerland Men Gold- Daniele Bagozza Silver- Arvid Auner Bronze- Edwin Coratti Women Gold- Ramona Theresia Hofmeister (3 wins in 3 races in the PSL/PGS World Cup this season ) Silver- Lucia Dalmasso Bronze- Sabine Schoeffmann
  11. Stoooooooooop!!!!!!!!!! please, stop this troll and his fuckin' bullshit! a new judges' tower will be built and ready by the WSL event in May, it's already been approved and supported by the majority of the French-Polynesia Parliament. anything else, it's bullshit.
  12. one of the easiest panel of choices so far... Men's Ski Cross... Frederic Chappuis is the man that won a world title, more world medals, the most world cup races in the male division, therefore he has to be my pick. Women's Ski Cross...that's even unfair to the other nominèes, the only reasonable choice is Sandra Naeslund. Biathlon, Men's Mass Start...the only really close battle, Martin Fourcade vs Johannes Boe. I go with the Norwegian. Biathlon, Women's Mass Start... Magdalena Neuner is undoubtably the GOAT in this sport, I just can't pick anyone else. Short Track, Women's 3000m Relay...6 gold medals in 9 Games (even if the 2018 one was a gigantic robbery ) speak for themselves...this is THE South Korean event par excellence.
  13. I decided to put them in the pair/mixed teams category (since there was also a woman in the team that won the European Champs)
  14. yeah, you're right...she might not have been a perfect fit in that category, so I changed my choice (I don't know how I could leave Pieterse out of my initial list ) to me, Katzberg is still in the category of the one-hit wonders rather in the established, consistent newcomers in the elite of the discipline actually, if there was a category named "upset/surprise of the Year", he'd be very high in that ranking
  15. yes, of course... I already fixed that in the PM I sent you a few days ago, now I'm gonna do it also in this public thread
  16. I meant Karoline, of course I don't know how I came up with the name Guri...most likely, I was "under influence" you know, this almost Holiday period, you always have to see people you normally don't see very often, friends, relatives...there's always a chance to party
  17. I must admit it wasn't easy... in some categories I had even too many names/events in mind that I found extremely difficult to choose only 6 (some times 7, thanks to a couple of ex-aequo) meanwhile in a few other categories I had the opposite problem, had to dig deep to find 6 really good options I also tried not to be so "obvious" when possible, but without being "extravagant" however, this is my effort for this year... 18. I don't know if it's more appropriate this or that I mean, when people get in trouble it's never a good thing, but reading the equation 'Bulgarian weightlifting = scandals' makes me laugh because it happens so often that's like saying 'water is wet', more or less
  19. Wintersports (mainly Alpine Skiing), Euroleague Basketball, a lot of Hockey and tons of US Sports (above all, Football...the NFL is coming to the RS climax and in the NCAA it's Bowl season! )

  22. by the way, took their revenge Tonight in Cortina, as Benny Karl edged out Andreas Promegger in the night PGS. the best , the veteran Captain Fisch, aka Roland Fischnaller, finished only 3rd among the women, it went a little better, as Lucia Dalmasso miraculously came 2nd behind the unstoppable Ramona Theresia Hofmeister. Sabine Schoeffman was 3rd.
  23. what should I say, now?
  24. 2014 & 2018 Olympics, 2013 and 2017 Worlds (not mentioning some world cup stages and the X-games)
