  1. Fett had 5:1 and 40:15 in the final set against Wozniacki, and of course she lost. WTA should be banned.
  2. Competition started today with men's short program and continues with pairs short in the evening. This will be the first competition Petranović/Souza after injury troubles. Very excited, but also very clueless about how they'll go!
  3. Figure Skating ISU European Championships 2018 Moscow (RUS) - 17 January 2018 - 20 January 2018 Totallympics Results Thread
  4. Maria Pietilae-Holmner has announced her retirement.
  5. But at the end of the year you'll get the exact same thing - year rankings. Plus, this way rankings are calculated on a monthly basis, making it easier to run. Do we really need the rankings to be updated after every single contest? And, as you said, it's for fun. So, yeah, stuff like career high ranking etc adds to the fun. Can't really use that if you get 12-months rankings only at the end of a calendar year... Also, I completely disagree with the FIFA rankings comparison. This system just means that there's 12 months in the background of each rankings, simple as that. Between January-February rankings and March-February rankings, it's the first one that is more FIFA alike!
  6. Should be, as he is still ahead of Rodeš who is likely to qualify anyway. I've made some simulations, and realistically we can expect around 30 or more reallocations, what would even put the likes of Komšić and Štimac on the bubble (taking into account that most of the spots on reallocation list come from big nations/nations who will decline). At least 3 should be safe though.
  7. Also the bobsleigh entries are in. Argentina is seriously planning to a win medal in this event, if not here then four years from now, 1928.
  8. Isn't Strychnine something like a plain, death causing, poison? It's often used in Agatha Christie's mysteries.
  9. Yeah, I tried looking for some at NOC pages, but with no results (except the Bjoerndalen explanation). No idea how @Griff88 found all those flag bearers before Rio.
  10. Now we know the truth. According to Google Translate, Bjoerndalen wasn't selected because he didn't pass the piano-play selections. Later on... "Biorandlen expressed dissatisfaction with the Norwegian Biathlon Federation and the local Olympic Committee. The athlete is convinced that it would be a good sporting form for piano."
  11. Not sure, this would favor those who do well at more popular contests - meaning more popular sports. Also, I have an idea concerning the general standings. I think using tennis-alike system would be nice, meaning points from one contest are removed one year after the contest was held. Ranking could be updated on a monthly basis (as opposed to tennis' weekly basis). This way we'll eventually always have yearly Totallympics rankings, and not just at the end of each year. Also defending points and stuff like for how many weeks X user has been no. 1 can add to the intrigue. This time we obviously start from 0, so this is more of a 2019 idea.
  12. Well, Turkish races were initially planned in Bolu/Gerede, and those were only classic interval starts + free pursuit. Now it has been relocated to Erzurum, and the pursuit was replaced with another interval start. Pretty sure that change was made after Pita's James Bond alike attempt.
  13. This post is even more... Wow...
  14. Of course we have Ghanian national championships during the final week of Olympic qualification...
  15. Brilliant. There should be negative points for such streaks. If your streak doesn't end with 10 consecutive losses, then you get -200 pts for every next loss.
  16. Switzerland has selected two athletes: Livio Wenger (1500m, 5000m, Mass start) and Ramona Hardi (Mass start).
  17. That is one party flag.
  18. Exciting for Haiti, Iraq and Zambia in particular, as I have never seen them competing in any FEI event.
  19. Yeah, Spain has for example already selected a figure skater who competed for Russia in 2015/16 season, so same as Matousek. Hopefully it will work out for the Slovaks.
  20. Well, let's wait and see, I don't think that rule is so harshly applied. I can remember quite a few nationality changes that happened right before Rio.
  21. Yay, quota for Niger. IBSF fail.
  22. Close, but no cigar... Dadić is 309th in the distance rankings. Maybe he can climb, but it will be very hard.
  23. No, that's not what this means. It means that NED and SVK have received unused quotas (from unused continental spots). There are 3 continental quotas in each event and only one was used here (Australia).
  24. That's right. We get the additional spot since Malec is ranked inside top 300 in sprint.
  25. Istok Rodeš already started with the overuse of combined races. A victory in Garmisch yesterday, which should climb him about 7 places on allocation list. However, our biggest wild card should be Vidović (hopefully he will enter some of the combined races...). Already ranked 18th in slalom, so any kind of remotely decent combined result would put him right up there.
