  1. Gold for Italy... I'm sure I've read here how this will be awful championships for the Italians.
  2. Well, I'm not sure, but I think you need to write something under those to get registered. Can't leave it empty.
  3. Indeed, everything looked ok with the horse until it suddenly happened. Probably the combination of travel stress, age (extremely old for this kind of competition), race and unscheduled break after the first loop played part...
  4. A detail from Isabell Werth's scoring card from yesterday. It was funny when commentator Karen Pavicic gasped "9.9 for transitions. Unbelieveable."
  5. Something happened to Blasco? There is no inspection after the dressage, so if something happened then it was a withdrawal.
  6. BREAKING NEWS Jumping stage of eventing has been postponed from Sunday to Monday due to upcoming torrential rain. Same goes for dressage freestyle final. Also, starting intervals for today's cross-country has been reduced from 4 to 3 minutes. Individual reining final has been brought forward from 6pm to 3pm.
  7. Not sure if you're talking about dressage or eventing, so I'll do both. In dressage, Brazil should be the favorite for the second spot, but their level is dropping, so Mexico and Argentina should definitely have a chance for a surprise. In eventing it very much depends on how many teams qualify here. It's quite possible that none of the American teams will make it (USA has been anything but consistent over XC in recent years, even though they'll be very determined this time), in that case it will be USA and CAN as the favorites. If USA makes it, then it will be hard to beat CAN and BRA. Finally, if two teams make it here, then Ecuador will have a very good chance.
  8. Yes, that's why they converted all of the previous results to new money.
  9. Stefano Brecciaroli competed today only hours after finding out that his mother has died.
  10. Backstory: Equiratings is basically like TISC stats, only more organized.
  11. American Jane Hamlin. And I thought the Americans love Irish.
  12. So at the end it's 4th, 6th and 42nd. Sounds about right. I wonder what would Serena Williams do to this judge.
  13. These judges are such media hypers, can't believe they already gave medal to Dujardin... Gold for Weth with unbelieveable 86%. Graves gets silver with 81%. Pre-event favorite Rothenberger 4th.
  14. Sonke Rothenberger goes just behind Graves on 81%. Pitty for the mistakes.
  15. Cross-country should be the best phase for all Canadians, except maybe Jessie Phoenix & Pavarotti who are usually slow.
  16. 79.726% for Kittel & Well Done de la Roche. Briliant score, but honestly I still don't get what judges see in this horse. I just can't wrap my head around it.
  17. Team standings after dressage... It's so close that the positions don't matter at all.
  18. Dongal's Trish Ryan is the individual indeed. Also I think this is much better cross-country team than in Rio. Ok, Ennis and Daniels are not super consistent, but if they are clear then they are also fast. Sam Watson is according to many people one of the best XC riders in the World (didn't compete in Rio), while McCarthy & Mr Chunky were very classy in Badminton this year. I remember Ian Stark himself picking him as the Badminton round of the day.
  19. Briliant dressage day for Ireland (not something you say often ). Reynolds qualifies for freestyle, Ennis and McCarthy enter top 10 in eventing!! All that despite McCarthy being the victim of the biggest robbery of WEG so far.
  20. Kasey Perry-Glass is the new leader at 78.5%... Sadly, it looks like the Swedish judge still has a personal agenda against her, just like in Aachen.
  21. Indeed, and she has also proven her worth in another job this week. She did an excellent job as co-commentator at FEItv in couple of sessions, definitely one of the best athlete commentators I've heard! Funnily enough, the host commentator is also Irish, and at one point they exchanged some Irish saying while talking about whether. I didn't quite catch it, but before that they were talking about having all four seasons during a day in Tryon.
  22. @OlympicIRL Judy Reynolds & Vancouver have just secured the top 15 freestyle final, after climbing no less than 11 positions compared to yesterday. What a comeback!
  23. Huge 77% for Ramel. Has she done that yesterday, Sweden would have taken the medal.
  24. What an awful day for the hosts after winning the team silver yesterday. Steffen Peters is 16th, Adrienne Lyle 17th (out of 17)! Both made huge and uncharacteristic mistakes. So this means the Americans will shockingly not have the full 3 quotas for the freestyle.
