  1. Same dumb trick as last year.
  2. I'm hoping this will cause a shift back to flatter freestyle technique after Phelps' success caused many coaches the world over to teach loping freestyle. He'll get it next time he swims in a fast pool. Problem is unless the Worlds schedule changes he'll have to choose between the 200 breast and 200 IM. His form isn't that bad but he doesnt have the aerobic fitness he had before so can't handle a heavy schedule with a heap of doubles like he did in the past. Now he'll rest until the medley relay so will be able to put up a big fly split there.
  3. It was in 2022 and this was confirmation of rumours that were already spreading at the time on social media and at SwimSwam that she'd tested positive.
  4. Should've swum the semi.
  5. Second fastest. Tang Muhan went 27.95 when negative splitting her current PB 1:54.26
  6. Tactical masterclass from Mollie
  7. So glad for Italy. They were looking so good in 2022 and then kind disappeared last year.
  8. A pool like this is such a disadvantage for a swimmer like Popovici but he somehow still managed to get it done. I'd have been super pissed if he lost with how much of a favourite he was coming in.
  9. Forrester's mother was diagnosed with cancer and I heard she missed quite a bit of training because she didn't cope well
  10. Swimming 3 x 200s plus 4x2 before the 100 final makes it more likely he'll fail. It's smart but he shouldn't have taken the spot to begin with. Edit: Guiliano should've given his 200 spot away as well.
  11. Was obviously intentional. Same as Doha. Focussing on the 100, 4x2 and relays.
  12. Crazy atmosphere for Marchand.
  13. Why would he relax? He's got four days off until his next race. He usually gets a bit faster as a meet progresses but that was the old Dressel so I'm not sure that'll happen this time.
  14. Good point. I still think Pan will need to regress back up to the 47s for Chalmers to win but his stocks have definitely risen and I think the wavey pool might actually suit him although Pan doesn't seem to have too much trouble with it either. They're probably gonna have to use ZSC in the relays if he's looking good in the 200. In Tokyo he produced a couple of pretty solid splits but he's been quite unreliable since.
  15. Gonna be interesting to see how the pool affects the 200 because Mollie's relay lead off was in line with her performances earlier this year so even if she might've been faster in a better pool she wasn't slower while Titmus was slower. It seems like not everyone is affected by a "slow pool" to the same degree.
  16. I completely missed Grace's gold! Was so focussed on swimming and then sleeping to get up and watch more swimming.
  17. Still the second fastest performance all time. Dream day needed gold in the men's 400 but still an awesome day! I'm just a bit bummed about the times. Doping will never be eradicated not even in your own country or anywhere else.
  18. Athletes haven't just been training to win medals but to also break records. Some of them will never be in such great shape again so it's a missed opportunity. In the men's sprints in particular the wavey pool is an advantage to the bigger guys.
  19. The pool is so slow it's quite tragic.
  20. Very slow heats in the 100 breast.
  21. You'll be dreaming of that sexy naked smurf.
  22. The heats are up on the Paris website now. Here's the women's 100 fly for example.
  23. I guess SwimSwam are armchair experts because they reported on it.
  24. No, the swimming is hosted in an existing arena using a temporary pool. The new aquatic centre is hosting diving, water polo and artistic swimming.
  25. Are they willing to risk having their medals stripped??
