  1. I think if Israel and Palestine were both banned or both left alone then it would be fair, but if one was banned and the other not then it would basically be saying one sides actions where justifiable and the other's not. Fair enough with leaving Israel in Eurovision as Palestine aren't apart of the EBU meaning Israel didn't do anything unruly to another member. But when it comes to events both are participating in, I'd be fine with either kicking them both out or leaving them both in.
  2. Yes, but for the 2 spots left over before that after continental qualifiers the 2022 worlds results would take priority over 2023. Making ARG and VEN take those spots.
  3. @Rafa Maciel do you know when the BMX Freestyle qualification system was changed from NOC's being allowed to qualify via 2022 and 2023 worlds as long as they didn't already have 2 athletes qualified to NOC's being allowed to qualify via 2022 and 2023 worlds as long as they didn't have any athletes qualified?
  4. 2022 worlds take priority over 2023, so VEN and ARG take the 2022 worlds spots and CAN the host reallocation spot. Latvia the first reserve.
  5. 1. Yes because some don't agree with the Putin and Lukashenko regimes. 2. No because unlike Russia they didn't attack a country, they retalliated against an attack on their country. 3. No because athletes who actively support an attack on another NOC for absolutely no reason shouldn't be apart of a games that's supposed to bring people together no matter what country they're from.
  6. Any chance will reject their quota in Men's Skeet?
  7. Given the tie between and I reckon the final spot will go to them and they'll just make out that the quota was rejected after the WQT (which is fairly easy to do).
  8. Yeah unless there's some sort of technicality that affects athletes of all countries then the quali systems shouldn't change, in this instance it's a big punch in the face to the likes of and who could be short changed out of an athlete.
  9. No you are right. Pretty stupid rule considering it's a sport dominated by a few countries, so you'd really be scrapping the barrel for the last couple of spaces.
  10. If thinks stay as they are in the rankings, the following athletes get a quota via continental and worlds: Diehm (Continental Quota) (Continental Quota) Muller (2022 Worlds) Worthington (2022 Worlds) Villegas Serna (2023 Worlds) The athlete will drop out of the rankings because she's not here, but she'll take a Worlds spot either way so if one of the above can overtake her then it doesn't affect anything. Pardoe is currently 1st reserve from 2023 Worlds, but I reckon she'll take a spot as it's quite likely don't accept their continental quota ( don't tend to accept continental quotas that are so low ranked). Another way Pardoe can get a quota without having to rely on rejection is for Bernegas to drop out of the rankings and exactly 1 of the Worthington, Muller and Villegas Serna along with Diehm take her and the athlete's place as it would mean an extra spot would open up for Pardoe through 2023 Worlds at the expense of Bernegas.
  11. GB may miss out on gold in Women's Team Pursuit and might not even medal in Omnium but we're still the heavy favourites in the Madison as we'll have the world championship team of Evans and Baker going instead.
  12. I'm pretty sure Benedetti overtakes her into 21st. There is a universality reallocation spot for 22nd, however the Moroccan will take this as a continental quota instead.
  13. According to one of the Italian users Pasolini, Tambling makes the cut fairly comfortably with Strachan being first reserve. In other skateboarding news Joe Hinson won't come through the rankings after he failed to make it into the semis.
  14. Ah right, didn't realised Benedetti had overtaken Strachan. Is it unlikely that Strachan comes in as first reserve or are there athletes who may potentially withdraw before Paris?
  15. Does Strachan not have a Universality reallocation quota?
  16. Oh, my mistake. I thought when you put your first sentence you were just taking the piss out of my prediction, it's hard at times to decipher sarcasm over text.
  17. I probably have, and there's a chance a couple I said would win a medal don't even make the final. But with how open half the events are this year and the amount of gold medal contenders there are in them it's hard not to give the nod to your home nation.
  18. You've literally just been as optimistic with Hungary as I have with GB. Nothing wrong with it, but I wouldn't call it much more realistic than mine from a Hungary perspective.
  19. Think I might have had a bit too much of the old optimism and ambition last night. In a follow up post I did downgrade one of my golds to a bronze and removed a bronze as I forgot about Pan in the 100m Free, so my revised prediction is 7 gold, 3 silver and 5 bronze. However, in a lot of the events I have us winning gold (the men's free sprints and the 10km) there are about 7 or 8 different nations with swimmers who could win gold so it's not like I've gone unrealistic, I've just given the nod in most of those scenarios. Either way if we can get more than 4 golds and close to 15 medals then I'd be more than happy.

  21. We haven't sent full strength squads at the last 2 and have only had some athletes come to form and fruition over the last couple months. Sette College will paint a better picture but I genuinely think this will be our best ever swimming performance at an Olympics.
  22. With Peaty now back to close to his best, that takes 2 seconds off our mixed relay time. Furthermore, Ollie Morgan's recent emergence makes him a better option than Dawson on the back. If MacInness can then go close to mid 57 on her 100 fly then well definitely leave Hopkin enough to beat Pan and Dressel on the last leg. As for the 200 Free, Richards definitely has the edge on Pan and Hwang for the gold and I can actually see him going sub 1.44. I also think Pardoe has a good chance of giving the Hungarians and Wellbrook a run for their money in the 10km and potentially beat them, he's in really good form. All in all our main aim is to get more than 4 golds and get close to winning 15 medals overall.
  23. When you have sprinters like Matt Richards, Duncan Scott and Ben Proud in your squad you're pretty much guaranteed a medal with each of those athletes in 50m, 100m and 200m. For the record, here's where I place our medals: Gold - Men's 50m Free, Men's 200m Free, Men's 100m Breast, Men's 10km Open Water, Men's 4x200 Free Relay, Men's 4x100m Medley Relay, Mixed 4x100m Medley Relay Silver - Men's 100m Backstroke, Men's 200m Free, Men's 4x100m Free Relay Bronze - Men's 50m Free, Women's 400m IM, Women's 100m Breastroke, Men's 100m Free, Men's 200m Backstroke I changed a few from my original prediction as I forgot about Pan in the 100m Free, so it's now 7 Gold, 3 Silver and 5 Bronze. But other than a few potential longshots I think that's a realistic prediction. If you think Canada is gonna finish ahead of us and in 3rd then you are very much mistaken. The most golds you'll get is 5 or 6 and that's if Summer near enough wins all her events which she won't. Australia and America will dominate as usual and less than 10 golds will be good enough for 3rd.
  24. 1. Which 3 swimmers are you most excited for? Matt Richards, Angharad Evans and Jordan Crooks (honourable mention to Eve Okoro). 2. Your 3 brave predictions for swimming at Paris? 1. Lana Pudar to win first Olympic medal. 2. To come 3rd in the medal table. 3. Angharad Evans to win a medal in the women's 100m breastroke. 3. Your country's swimming predictions? 8 Gold, 4 Silver, 4 Bronze
