Germany makes it to the playoffs with a steal in the 10th, knocking out Switzerland! All playoff teams are set, just positioning now. Canada wins or Scotland loses tonight, Canada secures a semi spot. Neither of their opponents are playing for anything (SUI and SWE, respectfully).

My thoughts on Canada being in the same group as the host: Canada beat England in London 2012 -> Bronze Canada beat Brazil in Rio 2016 -> Bronze Canada tied Japan in Tokyo 202(1) -> Gold I see a trend! -
I'm confused here, Josh. Did you mean, "second in Group A" in your third paragraph? If so, how is a potential matchup with the US in the semis easier than Spain? Or maybe I'm just reading this wrong altogether. I do agree, best possible group besides having the hometown team (but they beat Brazil in Rio and England in London, and then tied Japan in Tokyo. Wait, I'm seeing a trend here...)
