  1. Finlay just KNOXED down the competition! Surprise gold!
  2. Great time for her! That would make the final at the Olympics.
  3. Her time would have gotten her silver in the last two Olympics (bronze the one before).
  4. Yeah, that's the one. I've lived in one and my mom was born in the other. I do know the difference, my memory is just not great as I age.
  5. This reminds me of the men's volleyball qualification when Bulgaria beat Netherlands to save Canada.
  6. They never perform at the Olympics anyway. It was either shit the bed here or shit the bed in Paris. They decided to get it out of the way early this time. At least our men finally qualified.
  7. Congratulations to Japan. Frankly, despite their ranking, Canada never looked good at the Olympics anyway and failing to qualify can just eliminate the fake hype around them early. But hey, there's still a chance. Go Spain!
  8. It just means only the best of the best will be in Paris, so there will be less disappointment there, right? RIGHT?
  9. Wow, Canada, wow.
  10. I didn't mean to imply they were bad. I meant if Canada loses to Spain AND Japan here they don't deserve the Olympics.
  11. I misread your original post, I did not see the "or", and thought you meant "and". Sorry! But if Canada loses to Japan then they don't really belong at the Olympics anyway, injuries or not. Of course if Spain loses to Hungary (and Japan) then they don't really deserve it either, but they did enough.
  12. "Here are a whole bunch of words that mean nothing and don't address anything. Also, you're not allowed to ask us any more questions about this."
  13. Why is this so? They're all 1-1 now. If Canada and Hungary both lose they'd both be 1-2. Isn't the first tie-breaker head-to-head, which Canada holds? Canada also still has the best point differential. The same with Japan/Spain. If they both lose, Japan should hold the tie-breaker against Spain and qualify.
  14. 4th place? No, not our Canadians....
  15. While I agree, they also have way more power than Canadians.
  16. ISU is in kahoots with the Russians and would have let them keep gold if they could have. It's a disgrace.
  17. This is the nicest things anyone has ever said to me...
  18. I live in Guatemala now and I would love to be able to hop over to Mexico City for the game on the 11th and then up to Toronto (home-ish) for the one on the 12th, but I think I'm just going to concentrate on getting to the one in Toronto. Then maybe down to the American Northeast for a few more games. This is all very exciting!
  19. Same spot Vallee got last year in the 1m, with much better competition. She was ok at the PanAms, but I'm not super confident for Paris.
  20. Wooooo! I just want to see the best playing the best. McDavid and McKinnon (and many, many others) finally in the Olympics! I think this will help SLC win their bid, especially if they get their new arena and NHL team.
  21. I'm actually going to be in Europe (and Africa) just before the Games, but I decided not to try to fit it in due to costs and logistics. I have to be back at work halfway through the Games and need some rest. I've been to two WOG, but my first SOG will have to wait for LA 28.
