Qualification Tracker

Test

  1. checking the lists. that wasn't just dirty. that was also stupid for Marcos Ruiz. he would qualify in his own weight and maybe even stand a slim chance for medal. he would be #12 in 109kg ranking which was good enough for the European quota. (after removing Yang Zhe, all Europeans above him would be in top 8) same goes to Martirosjan, of course only one of them would qualify, but without Ruiz he could have the best European quota. now it goes to Roman Zaitsev (Ukraine's replacement for Chumak)
  2. and the other guys ate him alive later that was so sweet when the Uzbek guy pinned him to the Tatami. the last time he participated in a World Championship he claimed he was forced to lose. (which was a lie) I wonder what's his excuse today.
  3. Olympic seeding in 3 remaning weights 65kg: 1. Rashidov - 60 2. Bajrang - 59 3. Niyazbekov - 56 4. Muszukajev - 41 74kg: 1. Chamizo - 76 2. Kaisanov - 69 3. Sidakov - 60 4. Hosseinkhani - 32 125kg: 1. Petriashvili - 80 2. Batirmurzaev - 42 3. Akgul - 40 4. Khotsianivskyi - 39
  4. is this official ? I mean did he or his coaches said something ? btw you don't know Hosseinkhani he gave heart attack to Iranian wrestling fans so many times before. he is master in losing close matches. and by my count he will be 4th seed in Tokyo. even though I doubt he can go that far to meet Chamizo in the SF. but I hope so! kind of interesting, as far as I remember despite being active in so many tournaments Chamizo never wrestled Iranian wrestlers in this Olympic cycle. I would love a Chamizo-Hosseinkhani semifinal in Tokyo (even though technically Hosseinkhani is not confirmed yet, not sure if winning the gold like that is enough)
  5. well we are talking about IWF, they might want to play along with those countries. (bribe or something) we will see if IOC does something here
  6. only countries in this list are officially suspended https://www.iwf.net/wp-content/uploads/downloads/2021/06/Number-of-ADRV_08062021.pdf this is a long process, I believe the rest (Romania, Vietnam and maybe Colombia) are somehow wasting time by making the process longer (CAS, etc) to not get suspended before the Olympics. they want to serve the suspension after Tokyo. (which I think will hurt their chances for 2024 Olympics qualifiers) Vietnam and Romania are still likely to be suspended. but they are not until it's official.
  7. this document says 11 June https://www.iwf.net/wp-content/uploads/downloads/2021/05/T2020-Revised-QS_Application-Process-FINAL-04052021.pdf I assume IWF will publish the last the next day, 12 June.
  8. this list is not final. they just removed other weightlifters from the same country and forced weightlifters to pick one weight and as expected Martirosjan and Ruiz did the dirty job and picked +109kg just to go to Tokyo. that's kind of disgusting
  9. @phelps Chamizo didn't show up in the final. any reason ? just tired ? he just ruined our trials. boooooo we were supposed to "watch" Hosseinkhani against one of the favorites in this weight. I don't know if winning gold that way is enough. he beat the guy who beat our other wrestler Emami though but that wasn't convincing.
  10. actually the format is two pools of five athletes , top 2 advance to the semis
  11. he collected good points because ranking system is terrible. he is surely not that good to be ranked 3. lots of wrestlers in Iran, Russia and USA will beat him easily but since they can send just 1 wrestler to Tokyo, yes he has a chance for medal. the thing is 3 wrestlers will eat the rest alive in this weight. Yazdani (IRN), Naifonov (RUS) and Taylor (USA) I highly doubt anybody touches them in Tokyo. thanks to this ranking system. Yazdani and Naifonov will be in the same side. and there is a 50% chance for Taylor to fall in the same side as well. after these 3 guys everybody has a chance for medal. (bronze or maybe even silver) I believe Amine, Shabanov, Gocen and Makoev are better than the rest. Amine has a better chance because he is guaranteed not facing Yazdani and Naifonov before the final.
  12. today was the first day of Polish Open. the ranking is now finalized for 3 weights but most importantly for us, this is our trials in 5 weights. one of them was today. 97kg freestyle. all 3 Iranian finished on the podium with gold, silver and bronze but MH Mohammadian booked his place in Tokyo by beating Karimi 2-2 and Shabani 1-1 ! I believe he is the only man on the planet who may have a small chance to beat the great Sadulaev. very unfortunate that 3 of our best wrestlers are in the same weight (while we are very weak in 65kg) but well whoever lost today can still call the great Tom Bach. IOC is ready to give refugee team status to any Iranian who fails to qualify. ------------ by my count Olympic seeding will be something like this 57kg: 1. Micic - 62pts 2. Uguev - 60 3. Atli - 58 4. Ravi - 45 86kg: 1. Yazdani - 60 2. Deepak - 54 3. Amine - 50 4. Naifonov - 47 * Deepak Punia was registered today and even participated in the weighin but all of a sudden withdrew before his match. guess what ? with just one win he could add 8 more points to his tally to become #1 in Tokyo but he didn't want that now he can avoid both Iran and Russia before the final. the bottom half is already weaker in this weight. and there is a 50% chance that the other favorite David Taylor falls in the top half means we will have a lucky silver medalist at least. 97kg: 1. Sadulaev - 80 2. Snyder - 57 3. Yergali - 48 4. Nurov - 47 interestingly our 2nd guy manhandled both #3 and #4 here. none of them are medal contender. but with RUS and USA being in different brackets the draw will be balanced.
  13. https://worldtkd.simplycompete.com/playerRankingV2?limit=25&pageNo=1&month=5&year=2020&rankingCategoryId=11ea9376-9371-e3ef-aefb-0af9674366aa&subCategory1=11ea9376-4530-2b19-aefb-0af9674366aa&rankingTypeId=11ea9376-1b54-af01-aefb-0af9674366aa but this is not final. July Ranking will be counted for the Olympic seeding they have to add Pan-American and African Championship results (and Asian Champs later this month) to finalize the ranking. lots of changes still possible.
  14. of course this is politics. this is no coincidence half these so called " refugees" are from Iran and Syria. seriously how many athletes qualified from Syria to be in their own delegation ? less than 9 for sure. but I understand there is a bloody war going on in Syria. all these 5 Iranian guys were former member of Iran national teams. all of them are relatively famous, all of them are at least Asian Championship medalists. none of them real refugees with a tough life and HAD to flee the country. no way. obviously the economy is beyond terrible in Iran. that's the reason people consider moving. at this rate in 2028 we will have more Iranians in the refugee team than the real Iran delegation. IOC is encouraging our athletes to leave the country this way. I'm OK if they represent another country (I don't like it but that's understandable) but this ? without even actually qualifying !
  15. WTF ?! so Derafshipour and Mahjoub are refugees !!! I really need to learn what the word refugee means. these guys still travel to Iran regularly. Derafshipour is a world bronze medalist in Karate, he lost Iranian trials then moved to Canada. now he can go the Olympics without doing anything while the guy who beat him in the trials has to go through 80-man bracket in World Qualifiers to qualify. this is the most disgusting thing from IOC, if these guys could qualify themselves by merit that was at least OK but even when they lost in the qualifiers, IOC found a way to let them in. lots of athletes around the world had to kill themselves to qualify for the Olympics while these guys can just walk to Tokyo.
  16. that's correct but before that they had a chance to remove anybody they want. for example Iran removed all three 96kg Iranian weightlifters above our main guy in the ranking.
  17. yes I know about all those scenarios but some of them are unlikely. most of these matches will happen after Iran-Iraq Japan will beat KGZ. I'm not worried about that group. either Jordan or Kuwait will finish 2nd in that group. if Jordan beat Kuwait, will Australia play with maximum capacity to beat Jordan and help Iran advance ? will KSA try to beat Uzbekistan to help Iran ? (I highly doubt about this one) Lebanon losing to (already eliminated) TKM is a bit unlikely. and from what I saw UAE will be favorite against Vietnam. even a draw will be enough for them most probably. considering everything I think Iran's chance is something around 30% at best to qualify in case of drawing Iraq. of course Iraq has to beat HKG first.
  18. Our World Cup hopes will be alive for another 8 days first ever away win against Bahrain, even though technically that was a "home match" 2 wins out 4, and I assume beating Cambodia will be easy. so it's win or die match against Iraq now. if it wasn't for North Korea's withdrawal Iran would qualify even after losing to Iraq but now only a win will be enough.
  19. I see Iranian girl Aghaei is currently #3 reserve. but actually #2 because the Egyptian girl is also qualified in doubles events. is there any chance 2 players withdraw ? sounds a bit unlikely. Aghaei herself was injured for something like 1.5 years and had two surgeries . I know Marin is injured (unfortunately) but she will be replaced by another Spanish girl
  20. can you give us the same link for other 4 events.
  21. that's interesting. he was supposed to compete in Final C with a Kuwaiti guy but withdrew. I thought he won't be counted in the final ranking and won't be eligible to receive a quota but apparently I was wrong. maybe one country rejected its quota. or maybe KUW took the female quota. because after all Asia had 1 additional quota because of unused host quota. meaning 6 (instead of 5) qualified in single sculls events. but this line was amazing skill and fighting spirit

  23. yes Kazakhstan too, most of those others "suspicious" qualification marks for Iranian athletes were achieved in Kazakhstan! mostly in Kosanov tournament. either the track is super fast or they do magic with the numbers what's really annoying for me is that some of those probably "fake" results are national records at the moment. I seriously suspect at least our Hammer throw and 110mH records.
  24. Results of 2021 Pan-American Championships https://wt.uptkd.com/resul_elim_horiz.php?camp=39 https://wt.uptkd.com/resul_elim_horiz.php?camp=40 I wonder why Edival Pontes of Brazil didn't participate here ?! injured or something ? I had him as one of medal contenders in Tokyo. btw by not participating here he probably put himself in a very tough situation in the ranking. (and therefore the Olympic seeding)
  25. I found out recently that some Iranian athletes who qualified for 2012 and 2016 Olympics cheated their way into it. of course I have no proof but I'm almost sure about at least two of them. (I suspect 5 or 6) it seems in certain countries (mostly Belarus) you can get whatever result you want!!! while checking some results this one caught my attention, this guy from Bahrain all of a sudden qualified for the Olympics by a 21.10m throw in Belarus. (which is equal to the qualification mark) his other results are much weaker. I think this is at best suspicious . (or maybe he is young and improved big time ) https://www.worldathletics.org/athletes/bahrain/abdelrahman-mahmoud-14847215
