  1. are qualified even before the last round that also means we will have the full list of continental quotas for women's events Oceania: Anacan (Kata - Rank 9) Africa: Sayed (55kg - Rank 11) America: Grande (61kg - Rank 9) Asia: Alipour (61kg - Rank 6) Europe: Plank (55kg - Rank 14) Pan-Am last quota: Dimitrova (Kata - Rank 11) 2 wild cards will be avaible in +61kg but only is eligible for that. that means even if MNE takes that Wild Card, will take the unused TC quota. I will double check everything later today. but that's my understandings from the rules. of course I might be wrong completely.
  2. it seems there is still a way for Eleni Chatziliadou to qualify if both Italy and Egypt qualify here (whcih is very likely) , there will be 2 Wild Cards available in this weight but only 1 athlete in eligible for that (from Montenegro) rules say Quirici is next , and Eleni is right after her. so one of them will take that reallocated quota. id Quirici qualifies here. there is a very good chance for Greece to have her in Tokyo @Makedonas
  3. and we had lots of surprises in men's +75kg. I think only Arkania was expected to be here. Arkania Hamedi Lardy Gaysinsky what a day for Canada so far.
  4. these 4 girls will fight for 3 quotas in women's +61kg Semeraro Abdelaziz Quirici Bratic ITA and EGY are already qualified even if they fail here. but this is very important for Brazil and Kumizaki. if both of them qualify. that last Pan-Am continental quota will go to Dominican Republic in Kata.
  5. Yuldashev's elimination completed the list for continental quotas Oceania: Yahiro (75kg - Rank 22) Africa: Abdelaziz (75kg - Rank 8) America: Irr (+75kg - Rank 16) Asia: Yuldashev (+75kg - Rank 8) Europe: Kalnins (67kg - Rank 14) Africa last quota: El Hakimi (Kata - Rank 17) that means 1 wild card in Kata and 1 in 67kg will be available. the following countries are eligible for WC Kata: 67kg:
  6. Brian Irr is out. therefore he will take the Pan-American quota. that also qualifies Kalvis Kalnins in men's 67kg the last continental quota in the men's side is between Yuldashev (KAZ - +75kg) and Saymatov (UZB - 67kg) . depends on if Yuldashev qualifies here directly or not.
  7. that's correct, no chance
  8. kind of interesting that both Feryal and Semeraro will qualify at the end no matter what they do here. but for Feryal she has other motivations. her victory here will secure another quota for Egypt. if Semeraro wins that will qualify Plank (Austria) if I'm not wrong. that will be bad news for Brazil. because if both 55kg quotas will be taken. then Kumizaki can't qualify anymore. Brazil needs one of Italy or Egypt fail to qualify.
  9. Japan Olympic team is finalized today Men's freestyle: 57: Yuki Takahashi 65: Takuto Otoguro 74: Keisuke Otoguro 86: Sosuke Takatani Men's Greco-Roman 60: Kenichiro Fumita 77: Shohei Yabiku Women's freestyle: 50: Yui Susaki 53: Mayu Mukaida 57: Risako Kawai 62: Yukako Kawai 68: Sara Dosho 76: Hiroe Minagawa
  10. Olympic seeding in Greco-Roman after the first day of Polish Open GR competition. 67kg: 1. Borrero 2. El Sayed 3. Surkov 4. Nemes 77kg: 1. Loincz 2. Bjurberg 3. Chalyan 4. Geraei 130kg: 1. Kayaalp 2. Mohamed 3. Abdullaev 4. Nabi
  11. indeed a friendly 0-0 with some fake attacks qualified in men's 75kg
  12. your guy is safe, even if he loses
  13. Kazakhstan beat Jordan that means Kazakhstan and Hungary are 100% qualified. Germany most probably will join them soon. poor guy from Jordan after the first win, he was 5 seconds away from Tokyo. he will not forget this day for a very long time.
  14. btw draw is still possible even in case of 2-2 or 3-3 or more but under special circumstances, that's rare but possible. Germany and Hungary will play the last match of Group. otherwise a 0-0 wouldn't guarantee them the quota. now they will start match knowing what happened in the previous match.
  15. number of points is the next tie break (not the points difference) so I guess Hungary was very lucky that last punch didn't counted for Kazakhstan now it's JOR 7, HUN 6, GER 6 and KAZ 5 Hungary and Germany will qualify with a friendly 0-0 draw. Kazakhstan is the one who has to win.
  16. that was quite an "Ashi Barai" for Hungary in last 5 seconds.
  17. Ukraine and Morocoo played for a 0-0 draw. they didn't even touch each other during the fight. only threw some random kicks and punches. I really don't blame them. I would do the same. this format was a terrible idea btw, this result ended the hopes for Kazakhstan so qualified in women's 61kg
  18. as expected qualified in men's Kata
  19. looks like it will be the same story as yesterday, the Iranian will lost all 3 matches to finish last I watched 6 matches = 12 boring Katas and nothing at the end. not really fair for me to do that again and still got nothing at the end USA and TPE have one foot in Tokyo by winning the first round matches
  20. looks like that guy is retired now or found a new job. I'm going to miss his "Olympic is going to be cancelled", "Australia will pull the plug", "Biden will push the Plug" posts. they were fun for me
  21. Iran's freestyle team for Tokyo Olympics is now officially confirmed 57kg: Reza Atri (Mazandaran) 65kg: Morteza Ghiasi (Lorestan) 74kg: Mostafa Hosseinkhani (Tehran) 86kg: Hassan Yazdani (Mazandaran) 97kg: Mohammad Hossein Mohammadian (Mazandaran) 125kg: Amir Hossein Zare (Mazandaran)
  22. Continental quotas ladder after today Men: Oceania: 1. Yahiro (75kg - Rank 22) - Qualified Continental Quota Africa: 1. Abdelaziz (75kg - Rank 8) - Qualified Continental Quota 2. El Hakimi (Kata - Rank 17) - Qualified Continental Quota America: 1. Irr (+75kg - Rank 16) - will go to Tokyo even if doesn't qualify directly 2. Madera (67kg - Rank 34) Asia: 1. Yuldashev (+75kg - Rank 8)- will go to Tokyo even if doesn't qualify directly 2. Saymatov (67kg - Rank 15) Europe: 1. Kalnins (67kg - Rank 14) 2. Gurbanli (+75kg - Rank 24) 3. Arkania (+75kg - Rank 5) 4. Chobotar (+75kg - Rank 11) ================== and Women Oceania: 1. Anacan (Kata - Rank 9) - Qualified Continental Quota Africa: 1. Abdelaziz (+61kg - Rank 5) 2. Sayed (55kg - Rank 11) - failed to qualify directly America: 1. Grande (61kg - Rank 9)- Qualified Continental Quota 2. Kumizaki (55kg - Rank 19) 3. Dimitrova (Kata - Rank 11) Asia: 1. Alipour (61kg - Rank 6)- Qualified Continental Quota Europe: 1. Semeraro (+61kg - Rank 11) - will go to Tokyo even if doesn't qualify directly 2. Plank (55kg - Rank 14) - failed to qualify directly ================== there will be one more additional quota for Africa and Pan-Ams. for Africa Egypt can't take that (already has 2) so it's Morocco in men's Kata. so that means the last Pan-Am quota will to go a female athlete. Kumizaki has a very good chance to take that but still not 100% because Egypt and Austria can take both 55kg quotas before her.
  23. and for men's 75kg: Noah Bitsch Gabor Harspataki Bashar Al-Najjar Nurkanat Azhikanov
  24. we know 4 athletes for the final round in women's 61kg: Btissam Sadini Claudymer Garces Sabina Zakharova Anita Serogina
