  1. And everyone will be waiting to see if she will appear at the all around or some or all of the finals. Is she allowed to pull out of say two of the finals and only do two. Or does she have to do all four or withdraw from all of them?
  2. America are still competing and looking good for the silver or bronze so I presume they still showing it.
  3. I really do hope The Gadrilova twins continue to progress as by Paris on current form they could be medal contenders.
  4. NBC saying Biles will take no further part. If Biles doesn’t recover for the all around and the individuals it’s not impossible to think America won’t win a gold in Gymnastics as the rest of team are unpredictable and could easily fail to win any of the rest of the five events.
  5. The Olympics is rating badly there already - this will wreck it for them.
  6. Billes not looking at her best so it feels like ROC’s day. I don’t want GB to finish fourth - As that would mean ROC being allowed to compete might well be what ends British Gymnastics as a competitive force in global gymnastics because I am not sure even a apparatus medal later on in the week will save the funding in the way a team medal would have. T
  7. I know. But it seems they going to try and qualify with a mostly the B team which doesn’t really work that often for GB over the years. Back in 2916 they only made once change from semi to final.
  8. GB focusing on the 4 x 200m relay rather than individual events. That is an interesting but risky decision.
  9. A great result. The rest of today has been rather mixed for Team GB so far - some great performances in the Rugby (Just about) and Tennis and Sailing but some disappointing performances elsewhere. Boxing not looking as sharp as expected. They will do well to match their Rio total medal - which probably means Team GB not making the 45-52 medal range.
  10. I think it will be gone or heavily amended so that it can be like Judo and Takewondo and not need judges.
  11. That’s better. It would have been a tedious watch otherwise.
  12. Am I right in thinking all team members go consecutively? Or are they going in rotation so we don’t have to wait till the end to see the top 3?
  13. Disappointment for GB to not win a gold at these games. Be interesting to see if funding levels survive two silvers and maybe one bronze. The sport has become more popular in the UK through - I don’t remember this hype even back when Jade Jones won in 2012 and 2016. British sporting history is often defined by cruel and agonising last minute defeats which is sport perfectly fits.
  14. Unlike the Gymnastics yesterday the BBC pundits really dislike the Russian swimmers and did not approve of the Backstroke result.
  15. Firs time since 1908 two different Brits have won gold medals in Swimming and also first time since 1908 two British Men have medaled in the same event. A great result.
  16. According to the official Tokyo 2020 website God Save the Queen (rather than the local Bermuda Anthem) will be played for Duffy’s medal ceremony which will be fascinating to see.
  17. I think the Team GB women are going to be surprisingly shut out of the medals here (Of course Duffy is a British Citizen as well)
  18. Bravo of Ecuador also falls but it looks like she will continue.
  19. The IOC biggest nightmare is China and Russia setting up a anti American games and pulling entirely out of the Olympics.
  20. They will play Tang Chun Man and Tse Ying Suet of Hong Kong on Wednesday in the quarter finals. The Hong Kong pair were world bronze medalists in 2018 so will be very tough but who knows - Ellis and Smith looks to be in good form.
