  1. I agree, the absence of Lisa Zimmermann clearly lowered the level of competition.
  2. Me too! What the fuck? I just looked at the results and couldn't believe it, greatest winter sports talent ever? It's ABSOLUTELY INSANE to be so good in two very different sports + women's super-g is a very competitive discipline, so if she also wins the PGS, this will easily be among top 5 olympic performances every. Best day for czech sport in a very long time? Did czech tv even broadcast this?
  3. Really ... ? I think your chances in downhill are much better.
  4. Of course, because there are no speed skating events today ...
  5. On the one hand beautiful podium, on the other hand ... why again Fenninger and not Weirather? Yesterday i said that Sweden is having once in a century olympics, but Austria is not far behind. How many events have they been favorites in so far? 2 in my opinion, but this will already be their 4th gold. Not hard to predict that Flock will win gold as well today.
  6. Would be great for the sport, if an idol like her continues to compete. Speed skating is losing more and more popularity, so an international star like here can only help the sport. Would be absolutely sensational if she would win a medal in mass start.
  7. Wasn't the super-g last night?
  8. Hopefully gold for Germany, it would only be deserved considering the dominance since the last olympics. I am very surprised how good Fernstädt is here ... would be funny if she would win a medal.
  9. What about Zhou and Chen? Let's also not forget that Boyang and Uno are only 2 years older ... Would be cool if Samohin could win a medal for Israel some time, don't think they won many medals at winter olympics before.
  10. Ok, thanks, now i understand why i picked Fernandez. Of course Hanyu winning gold would make me very happy, i hope he will be able to forgive me for not believing in him.
  11. The medallists should be thankful that the german coach rested Thomas Bing for the relay, otherwise it would have been very close.
  12. I think this event/format is very boring. Also very sad that Spitsov won a medal, i am sure he was a good talent, but before the olympics he wasn't nearly on the same level.
  13. Do you know the course? If there would be a large hill from 7.5 to 9.8 km for example this would make sense. Is there any other reason why the intermediates shouldn't be something like 2.5, 5, 7.5, 10, 12.5?
  14. I thought the logical podium would be Hanyu ahead of Fernandez and Uno, but i just saw that i predicted Fernandez ahead of Hanyu and Chen ... what a blackout, i feel really sorry for myself. Didn't Fernandez just come back from an injury? Why did i predict him to win gold ahead of Hanyu, although Hanyu is by far my favorite figure skater?
  15. Now that you say it ... The gold in men's luge was surprising, as well as the bronze in men's biathlon, the bronze in nordic combined and the two medals today (although of course Mayer winning a medal would have been no surprise). Negative results so far: Snowboard women's slopestyle, that's probably it? Medals in ski jumping or speed skating weren't really expected. Let's hope that Flock won't continue the trend ...
  16. It's already safe that she won't start ... http://www.espn.com/olympics/winter18/story/_/id/22450731/mikaela-shiffrin-skip-super-g-compressed-schedule Note the first line: Michael Shiffrin's bid for 5 gold medals ...
  17. Ok, nothing new. I see that Hanyu is running away with the gold as expected? I think my prediction was Hanyu ahead of Fernandez and Uno. Chan, Aliev and Boyang might have a problem with that.
  18. Medal for Brazil! Also crazy gold for Italy, they are the second biggest positive surprise at the olympics behind only Sweden.
  19. Of course Gallhuber got lucky with the wind, but she showed absolutely no fear, so she deserved some reward.
  20. Jacobellis flopped again? Can't say i am surprised. Chen out of the medal race? I think i predicted bronze for him, not sure ...
  21. You are really good at seeing the negativ in everything. Absolutely noone expected two medals for Austria today.
  22. I feel sorry for anyone who slept through this, most amazing race of the season and easily top 3 at the olympics so far. Great podium, although i hoped for a Holdener win. Swedish people are probably crying 24/7 this week, once in a century olympics for them, also very nice to see that Austria is still alive. Shiffrin already has a gold + probably another one in the combined, so she will get over it. This means that there are still only 4 women who defended their olympic title, none did it in the slalom.
  23. I think we all agree that in skeleton/bob/luge the material and experience on a certain track is much more important than in other sports. I think that Germany, despite probably having a technical advantage, winning 8 out of 11 golds at the last 3 olympics deserves some credit. In bob and skeleton the home athletes were much more successful.
  24. I don't think you can call it a fact ... If the olympics would have been held in north korea, south korea probably also would have "created" him. Of course giving the olympics to north korea might seem a bit unlikely, but with IOC you never know. South Korea is very good in shorttrack, so they might have thought about giving the olympics to north korea to advance the sport of shorttrack there and to make it a more diverse sport.
  25. Very clever to lose weight right ahead of the race, probably copied it from the wrestlers and boxers.
