Saatvik reacted to MHSN in Asian Games 2022
from what I see most people on social media are furious on our own team for continuing the match and receiving the silver medal. people don't see them as "heroes" who got robbed but as cowards!
but I just watched an interview with Iran's coach, when journalists asked him the same question, he said something like "we talked (with his boss) and finally decided to play because abandoning the match would hurt the sport of Kabaddi in general which we care about regardless of who wins the gold or silver"
personally I think Kabaddi has the potential to develop outside of this region but not with current organization. they don't even have an active website nobody knows when is the next World Cup or the Asian Championship and the officiating is just bad (not necessarily biased, but just bad) and that Iran/India final debacle didn't help at all. in the heat of the moment I was hoping for them to refuse to continue but now after watching that interview I think they did the right thing, someone had to give up. but you expect more from the motherland of this sport to protect it.

Last 2 Gold medals we won were both farcical. Cricket should have reserve days and in Kabbadi, referees should be more authoritative. I don't believe that they should not change decision based on discussion. What should have happened is: The main officials should have pulled the two coaches aside and have discussion with them asking each to give their interpretation of the rule, consulted the official rulebook and made the decision and stuck to it. If either team was adamant on not accepting the ruling, they should have declared the other team winner by forfeit.
Since India is the bigger force in Kabbadi, was the team that protested initially and the final decision was in our favour, we do come out as the culprit. And I am sad that we couldn't complete our redemption by defeating Iran fair and square in the final.

and after more than an hour India finally got what
what a disgrace, and that's what the English commentator said.
when you invent a sport you want to develop , 1 gold medal more or less shouldn't matter much for you.
and what a shame Iran continued the match, they had to leave the court

the most important use of doping is done in training, to sustain bigger workloads and speed up recovery
and the new genetic doping is used way before you enter in competition to literally build more muscles and strenghten all of your body, improve the endurance and all the physical skills you need to succeed
the only chance to catch the big cheaters is in the socalled "out of competition" tests, a long time far away from the targeted events (and that's why the whereabouts issue is a big one and 3 missed tests are compared to a positive one)
those who are caught in competition, it only happens because something went wrong in calculating the time needed by the human body to eliminate all the signs of the doping usage
nobody at this level is so stupid to come to a competition completly filled with illegal substances
that's why all the athletes who have not been tested for a long period often comeback stronger than ever, that's why and shouldn't be allowed to get back to the international sports scene until they have passed a very long period in which they are tested regularly for any kind of doping products, otherwise it would be extremely unfair to all the remaining participants

It would be funny if the whole team will become neighbours
Anyway the president of Indonesian Rowing Union is also the Minister of Public Works and Infrastructure who is reponsible for these rewards

It's getting worse every single day it seems...
Weightlifting commentators keeps pronouncing Hyang as "Chang" and my favorite is shortening of DPRK as "Democratic People's" (which is as we know, very wrong both literally and figuratively).

they get tested for sure here like everybody else but I don't think anybody excepts them to test positive here. nowadays people rarely test positive "in competition" it's more about out of competition tests.
I'm no doctor. people with more knowledge can explain better. but since 2019 nobody could enter PRK to test their athletes. so they came here without any doping test in past 4 years. of course they are clean now but who knows what they did in past few years. using drugs don't only help you in official competitions, they also help you tolerate heavy trainings.
but while it's very hard, we still have to give them the benefit of the doubt. innocent until proven guilty

It was hilarious in badminton when Zhang and Zheng plays in the semifinal. The poor commentator found himself in the trouble after pronouncing Zhang as “Zayng”, then he had to pause for a few seconds to think how he will pronounce Zheng.

Might have to start keeping score of English commentators versus the common Vietnamese name “Nguyen.” I don’t think I’ve heard a single international feed commentator get it right so far…
Kind of embarrassing at the Asian Games.

Thanks and also congrats on your great performance overall specially in shooting
he is not the most popular athlete here mostly because of what he did and said outside of his career but he is/was indeed our best ever athlete in this sport. it's always sad to see a great athlete like him retires with tears running down his face. I believe he never lost a competition in Asia until today

Harmilan Bains of India won silver yesterday in 1500m This is her second 1500 m in Asiad. Once when she was in her mother's womb in 1998 and yesterday when she won 🥈 in 1500 m Hunagzhou Asian Games.
Her mother also won 🥈 for India in 2002 Busan Asian Games when Harmilan was 4 years old

our football managed to make history and lost to Hong Kong in the quarterfinal today
they just assembled a team in last 10 days. lots of clubs didn't release their players. 3 players left the team a day ago because their club insisted on having them back. It just doesn't worth sending a football team to the AG (unless it's in July/August)
yeah our football is a total disaster. only the senior team was/is good in Asian standards but I'm afraid that will disappear soon too
in general we had some nice results like first ever medal in Gymnastics and MTB Cycling or two surprising heroic bronze medals in Table Tennis but it's not a good competition for our delegation so far. but of course we have to wait until the Wrestling competition.

The roller sports venue is probably one of the best ever constructed. In spite of my political differences with the country, China definitely knows a thing or two about sports infrastructure.

But for the athletes, competing in Paris 2024 doesn't really matter...
Chinese weightlifters, beware. They have been locked out for 3 years and now all they're hungry for a new apartment unit in Pyongyang

ahaha! that's great! and the headbutts reminded me to the old Keirin races, where the only forbidden move was removing the hands from the handlebars and anything else was allowed
imagine doing that face to face for 30/40 mins before sprinting for an Olympic medal
p.s. also those who went on in the final lap, actually didn't do the surplace correctly, because there's also a rule that you can't go backwords by more than 20 cms
and all of them broke that rule (in the old times in that case you were forced to start pedaling for at least 100m before you could try once again)

the great Italian sprinters of the Sixties were the absolute masters of that trick, the official record in competition is 1 hour and 3 mins (it happened at the Italian Nationals in 1968), the world record on the track but not in competition, as a standalone attempt, is 2 hours 6 mins 15 secs by a 2nd/3rd tier Italian rider in 1975 (there's a video on Youtube dedicated to that attempt)
and since the tv stations started to complain about the waste of time, one day the UCI decided to cut the surplace max time to 15 mins, then 10 and finally they drastically came to the current 30 second-limit, which has made this tactic disappear from the tracks (and therefore the riders do not practice that anymore and just can't do it for such long time, as it gets very painful and puts the legs' muscles at risk when you suddenly start from scratch after a long stand in an uncomfortable position)

This is first time we are leaving the Taekwondo competition at the Asian Games without a single gold medal. and not because our team was bad. mostly because we weren't supposed to.
I'm watching Asian Games since 1998 and I know the officiating is always bad in certain sports (probably worst than any other sport competitions) but taekwondo this year was something special.
the only good thing is today was the last day and I don't have to torture myself watching Taekwondo anymore.

makes the League of Legends final after a 2-0 win over ! They will be the heavy favorite to win gold, which would grant a career-extending exemption from military service to the legendary Faker.
