  1. From Reddit, all men's Olympic gold medal winners since 2000 in water polo were born in this area.
  2. I find it fascinating that big Western countries are unable to send larger teams because they don't have the money. Like, we are nowhere near the GDP of Italy or Germany, but if we could we would send "everyone". Or maybe I am wrong, it's not like we will ever get to test if there are limits to the Hungarian Olympic budget, the size of our Olympic team is shrinking, not growing, even 200+ seems like a distant memory for us at this point.
  3. I think there are no restrictions, other than that every nation only can qualify one boat per event.
  4. Unless I am mistaken, I think simply getting to the Final A isn't enough because we got over 10 nations qualified for the finals so far, so you will still have to beat one or two boats at the very least on Wednesday, depending on how the finals will go. Qualified for three Final As: Qualified for two Final As: Qualified for one Final A:
  5. can take 2, but only if they win at least two events, 2nd or 3rd places aren't enough for double quotas here.
  6. I don't understand why some countries have national standards. We would never do this to our swimmers who achieve a OQT, especially to someone young who would have a great opportunity to gain some experience at the Games.
  7. The boat withdrew from the event, so there were only 6 boats, all qualified.
  8. I think we don't have any live scoring. The live audio commentary is the best thing we got.
  9. The issue with creating a personal schedule is that it's constantly evolving if you want to keep track of your countries' athletes, even during the day for stuff like fencing and judo. What I usually do is that I create a table listing all the Hungarian events for the day once the previous day is over and for sports where an athlete can have more than one match/race per day I leave multiple empty columns in the table, and I fill those slots with the scheduled time of the next matches as the day moves forward if they have qualified for the next round. That way I can keep track of what coming next. Here's an example for a day of Rio: Discipline Athlete(s) R64 R32 R16 QF Re SF F/3rd Fencing Rédli András 14:30 - Judo Csoknyai László - 15:35 Fencing Boczkó Gábor - 16:15 Fencing Imre Géza - 16:45 Discipline Athlete(s) H/Q Re QF SF F Rowing Molnár Bendegúz Y Y 13:50 X X Shooting Csonka Zsófia 14:00 - - Shooting Tobai-Sike Renáta 14:00 - - Rowing Juhász / Simon Y Y - 15:00 X Discipline Athlete(s) GS Water polo Hungary 14:00 I don't write down the name of the events because I remember them anyway. "Y" means that they qualified the previous day and "X" means that the next round won't take place today. I will probably do something similar this time, but I will also make time schedule for preferred neutral events. I didn't do that for the previous SOGs because I wasn't sure what the TV will air, plus for Rio we only had the Hungarian National TV, and they obviously prefer Hungarian events. This time I will have full control over what I can watch with Eurosport Player, plus I think even the Hungarian TV will have literally everything streamed live for free.
  10. And just in case one NOC wins more than one event. NOCs that have sent multiple entries and are eligible for two quotas: NOCs that are eligible for two quotas, but sent only one entry: NOCs that are eligible for one quota: So we got 10 nations that can win 2 quotas. But only if they finish first in more than one event.
  11. So we have 20 nations competing for 10 spots. I think it would be a big disappointment for us if we won't win a quota here. Our federation expects the Hungarian quota to be in M1x, or maybe LM2x.
  12. Zsolt Kalmár won't be able to play in the Hungarian team after the injury he suffered on the match against Andorra. First Lewandowski and now one of our best players. Playing against Andorra is not a good idea. It's an understatement that we really need Szoboszlai to return for EURO2020.
  13. Yeah, the schedule on the official site is lackluster to say the least. Thankfully we have this pinned thread:
  14. Apparently ISSF informed both Péni and Sidi that from now on bipods can't be used as weight at their events and they informed the ISSF jury members on this decision. So it looks like Péni was somehow right, but he still crossed a line because he and the other Hungarian team member should have still continued competing at the event. The Hungarian Federation found the behavior of all three Hungarian athletes unacceptable and fined them. The president of the Hungarian Federation said that if Sidi continues to "campaign against other Hungarian athletes on social media", which apparently he does, he won't be in the Olympic team. And he also said that Péni should concentrate on the competition instead of "helping" the ISSF jury. They will take some measures to ensure that there won't be drama in Tokyo, which means that there will be some extra social distancing between Sidi and Péni.
  15. I guess it was only a matter of time that this happened to Hungarian athletes: Szofi Özbas and Szabina Gercsák are in quarantine. One of Özbas' tests were positive (other was negative) and Gercsák is her roommate, both of them will stay in quarantine for 10 days in Turkey, which also means that they can't prepare for the ECh...
  16. Well, they can always use the Danube Arena in Budapest, we are pretty much willing to host anything even during the worst wave of COVID. The only issue is that Hungarian diving is literally dead at the moment, so it might be harder to convince the people in charge in Budapest that they should help FINA when there isn't a single Hungarian athlete who would compete at this event.
  17. Is there a site that's collecting the friendly matches scheduled before EURO2020 for the teams that will play at this event? The two matches scheduled for us, both will be played in Budapest: June 4, v June 8, v
