  1. I find this drama completely ridiculous. Who the fuck cares if they have those colors on their uniforms, or that they are called "Russian team" or whatever. There most be more important matters to deal with, both regarding the Russian situation and regarding other important issues.
  2. Some kind of a rule change needs to done for the Games because this just shouldn't happen to any nation under any circumstances at the most important event of their lives.
  3. Sure, but they aren't replacing it with a similar, more modern version of finn, right? Instead there just won't be anything similar for these athletes.
  4. Zsombor Berecz is leading at the men's finn European championship after 8 races, and when he was asked about the races that he won yesterday, he used this opportunity to heavily imply his dissatisfaction with the current state of finn at the Olympics. He said that finn got many great athletes and it's one of the strongest group of a sportsmen in the sailing Olympic program and that finn sailors represent the grand history of the event. He also said that finn got many talented young athletes and they have to get their opportunity to shine at the Olympic Games, and I am sure he isn't just talking about Tokyo.
  5. Russia. I have a feeling that they will defend their title despite the fact that they didn't win any WCh or ECh since Rio. I might say Norway if they wouldn't had that kinda weak performance at the OQT (for a team as strong as Norway). I will be boring and say that the semi-finalists will be Russia, Norway, France and the Netherlands. If any team reaches the Top4 besides these 4, I would say Montenegro. Obviously I have zero faith in us being in the SF, we are lucky that we have qualified with this team.
  6. I have been watching and uploading videos in the last few days from 1996, and wow, @Vojthas, I didn't know that the men's pentathlon finish was this crazy in Atlanta.
  7. We are missing some of our best judokas here either because of injury or COVID, most notably Csernoviczki, Karakas and Özbas. Still, I think we should win a medal at the very least, it would be a good sign for the WCh and SOG. The two Hungarians judokas who need the rankings points the most, Attila Ungvári and Cirjenics, are here.
  8. No, it won't. You live in an alternate reality if you think that's possible. We are living in a world where Qatar is hosting a FIFA World Cup while doing much worse things than letting a full stadium of vaccinated people spectate a match. UEFA is doing literally the opposite of what you are saying, they were even suggesting that they will take away the matches from hosts who aren't letting any spectators in.
  9. It makes it easier to predict the winner when I know that it's not one of the 12 nations that I voted for. Thankfully Hungary is one of the last countries to vote so I won't spoil it for others early in the voting.
  10. I think we have past the point of no return, the Games will happen no matter what at this point. There's too much money involved, just like with other big sport events like F1, the Champions League, EURO2020, etc. And it's quite clear that most of the "important" nations won't request a postponement or cancellation this year, unlike in 2020. Japan will also be under more pressure to deliver as more and more international events will have spectators as we will get closer to the Games.
  11. The Hungarian Olympic Committee has announced that so far 665 Hungarian athletes have been vaccinated, 37 athletes are still waiting for the vaccine, and 103 athletes refused to take it. Overall most of our team will be vaccinated for Tokyo.
  12. It doesn't matter how effective the Chinese vaccine actually is, facts matter very little in Hungary when it comes to politics. If Orbán says that it's good enough, then there's nothing UEFA or EU can do to stop us from having a match with a full stadium other than to take away the matches from Budapest, but that's just not going to happen.
  13. Hey, leave kata alone, at least that's one weird, unique event. That's the one new event I will definitely watch just because of how bizarre it is as an Olympic event.
  14. My excitement is low for these sports, so I will go with karate, as this might be the only Games where it will be on the program.
  15. I was actually thinking about making a giant Google form for the site to forecast the medals. But we are talking about 339 events here, so it would take a lot of time for anyone to answer a form like that even if they skip some of the disciplines. Should we try to do a TISC forecast with a giant poll, probably with Google forms, or maybe with something else if that's better suited for users answering 3x339 questions? I am only talking about medals and nations, so users wouldn't have to name individual athletes.
  16. Hold on, gold medal for Halász in men's hammer throw? Did something happen to the Polish athletes in that event that I don't know about (other than that they seem to be cursed in men's hammer throw at the Olympics)?
  17. I am assuming that they know something about FIE disregarding continental ranking points this time, maybe because FIE is expending that a lot of nations won't show up? Or maybe the Hungarian media is wrong.
  18. I am not sure about the continentals, Hungarian media claims that even if they happen, they won't be counted for the ranking for some reason.
  19. The Hungarian media says that the rankings are done for Tokyo. So we can already know what the draw of the team events will be, @phelps? The Hungarian media also says that our opponents in the QFs will be (men's sabre) and (women's sabre).
  20. Great idea for a poll series. But this is one poll where I won't vote because I don't know enough about archery.
  21. Personally I am very pessimistic about Hosszú. Maybe she will pull through and win a medal like how László Cseh did at multiple Games where he wasn't at his best, but I have a bad feeling about where this is going for Hosszú. It's like Dániel Gyurta before Rio, except it might be an even worse situtation. Maybe the European Championships will paint a different picture, we will see. I also have a bad feeling about Késely, she lost a lot of her motivation when the Games got delayed and it still shows.
  22. I did what you suggested, I am uploading the unedited footage (what the MTVA aired last year) to this OK channel: https://ok.ru/video/c4394078 Two of the episodes are already there, and I will upload (slowly) the other two Barcelona episodes today. I will also announce in this thread if I uploaded something more to that channel, I think I will be able to share some stuff from Atlanta.

  24. Japan not being #1 on this seems like a mistake, they will get an even bigger home team advantage than previous hosts if they will let spectators in.
  25. These are never correct, right? I mean, I sure hope they will get it right this time, 7 gold medals and 28(!) medals for us would be amazing.
