  1. Mary Parsons leads women's golf after round 1 with a -3, obviously there's a lot more golf to play.
  2. was third in the men's 100m freestyle preliminary
  3. No changes from ISSF, the last time the qualification document was updated was July 9th so if there was a change it was pretty recent.
  4. Wikipedia still lists the October event as the qualification event and it hasn't changed on FEI, which are pretty good at keeping things updated. Are you sure it just doesn't offer world ranking points?
  5. It's listed for October and besides Group F includes non-African nations.
  6. The men were scheduled to compete so I imagine they'll take that one. The Laser/Laser Radial could have multiple nations fighting for the quota. The other "free" quotas (women's 470, women's 49erFX, mixed nacra 17) don't have any athletes that I know of.
  7. Looks like another free quota is available for Pacific nations in the women's 470. Though more likely it will be reallocated to the next highest ranked nation at the 2019 Worlds.
  8. I think Warner is safe in the decathlon (assuming he gets a mark in the javelin). Victor might catch him in the javelin (he's pretty good while Warner is pretty bad), but Warner should beat him in the 1500m. Lepage's pole vault gave him a good buffer against Victor, but he needs either a good (relative for him) javelin or a good 1500m to keep second.
  9. Pretty surprising loss by the United States, but I'll take it.
  10. Looks like the Canadian women will win a bunch of silver and bronze, potentially winning us the race for the second most medals, but also meaning we'll finish third or fourth on the medal table unless athletics and to a lesser extent women's wrestling comes up big.
  11. Argentina denying Canada a couple of golds I see...
  12. Top 5 finishers were faster than the old record
  13. I don't think it would push us out of the bottom 3 for the Olympic qualifiers (not that qualifying to the Olympics is likely for us)
  14. I imagine we'll see a few records broken here given the quality of the field relative to previous games.
  15. Overall a pretty good session for Argentina, let's see how many medals this translates to.
  16. It would be a disaster if Canada failed to qualify in jumping. There's more quotas and no United States competing for them...
  17. Yeah, less than half showed up to training camp. I wonder how many of those people will show up if Canada somehow qualifies to the Olympics.
  18. Well at least that's fair. Other than the monstrous time it will take to run the event if other nations follow suit.
  19. Do they at least select which riders will compete in the team event ahead of time?
  20. Based on the notice of race they only need one race. That sounds wrong, but I guess with medals and Olympic quotas on the line they wanted some results.
  21. Unsuprisingly Kiefer takes gold in fencing
  22. Table tennis is the most important today as it doubles as denying Brazil another gold. We need all the help we can get before Brazil starts taking over in men's swimming.
  23. The other option is that they extend sailing until at most Saturday.
  24. Still lots to go for 2nd-7th place with over half events remaining, but athletics and swimming make up around 1/3 of the remaining medals.
