  1. Is the result site (SIUS) working for you? My firewall is going crazy...
  2. If we want to go by nations with the most athletes with MQS by event here are the top three nations. Men's 10m Air Rifle - 17 - 16 - 14 - 14 Men's 50m Rifle 3 Positions - 15 - 14 - 13 Men's 10m Air Pistol - 18 - 15 - 13 Men's 25m Rapid Fire Pistol - 11 - 11 - 10 - 10 Men's Trap - 16 - 14 - 12 Men's Skeet - 16 - 14 - 12 - 12 Women's 10m Air Rifle - 20 - 18 - 14 - 14 Women's 50m Rifle 3 Positions - 18 - 14 - 13 - 13 Women's 10m Air Pistol - 22 - 15 - 15 Women's 25m Pistol - 18 - 13 - 13 Women's Trap - 14 - 14 - 10 - 10 - 10 - 10 - 10 Women's Skeet - 11 - 11 - 10 - 10 - 10 Also here's the top 10 in terms of total number of MQS spots (note athletes are counted for each MQS they achieve) - 155 - 151 - 147 - 141 - 129 - 126 - 111 - 90 - 78 - 78
  3. Considering how the other two cut events are still surviving (though badly beaten) I think it was the right decision in the end. An event should in theory be able to survive without the Olympics.
  4. I had to double check that Pakistan was in Group F. I'd imagine they would have been in Group G along with the other South Asian nations.
  5. They also own Toronto teams in ice hockey, soccer, Canadian football and e-soccer
  6. They were always going to be strong, it's essentially the world cup minus a few top teams.
  7. If they qualify a women's team, they'll claim to keep their streak.
  8. Iran is doing its job against the Philippines so China/Nigeria has become even more important for China.
  9. Nur Dhabitah Sabri won the quota in the women's 3m springboard
  10. Does that mean South Africa will use its continental quota or will they just miss the Olympic altogether?
  11. My only concern with a 3 horse team is that it may turn the event into a lottery (especially in eventing) where winning a medal is more about out-lasting your opponents rather than being the best. In reality, it'll likely be more similar to relays in athletics where one, maybe two major contenders get disqualified, but that's part of the event.
  12. As far as I can tell (no name was said) won the quota in the men's 3m springboard. Chew Yiwei and Ooi Tze Liang won silver and bronze respectively. No scores were listed. If anyone has more information it would be helpful.
  13. Once Egypt qualifies a team, the fight for the second Group F quota might be interesting a bunch of nations are pretty close together.
  14. They changed the rules for 2020, only nations with no quotas are eligible and eligible nations can only receive one quota. Add in the maximum of two quotas per event and we're pretty much guaranteed that not all tripartite quotas will be used.
  15. Quite impressive, considering that for most of the WSL athletes the quota place would be decided at the WSL or even the 2020 Surfing Games for the small handful that fail. It however may make it harder for athletes to grab the continental quota (they must finish in the top 30).
  16. Do they still play the third match if Australia goes 2-0?
  17. So it looks like it's the Americas that are under-represented in this tournament
  18. Yeah, just like Europe in women's football, relying on results against nations from other continents to determine a continental Olympic quota is ridiculous. Even if they didn't want to have an additional tournament they could have extended the qualification round until 1 or 2 teams remained.
  19. The same issue happened in swimming in 2016 where FINA had to clarify. Sadly, no team was disqualified in 2016 at the World Relays so we won't know for sure. I think the 8 finalists will all qualify, but I hope IAAF clarifies quickly should it happen.
  20. Then why bother with silver or bronze medals, why not give them a certificate like 4th-8th place?
  21. I mean, most people would take 9 golds over 10 bronzes, but what about 1 gold over 10 bronzes? That's why a point system is probably the best. The question is which one? 3-2-1, 4-2-1, 6-2-1, 9-3-1 are all different types I've seen. Then we have ones that take into account population or GDP or a medal to event ratio...
  22. Based on the current nations ranking, we are seeing and as the nations qualifying through the world championships (Mexico will qualify through the Pan American qualifier)
  23. Obviously it's due to cheating and not about being a sore loser
