  1. Sugar cane, coffee, cotton were the main products that were based on slavery. Don't think the Argentinian climate supports those.
  2. Actually it is the 2026 World Champs - but of course World Champs Q is via the World Cup so..... Speaking to BBC Sport, GB sprint coach and seven-time Olympic champion Sir Jason Kenny said: "We've missed out on some medals that we felt we could have been competitive for, but we've come away with a really good haul with some new medallists, so it's really exciting. "The fact that we were on the podium more than ever shows that we were competitive across the board, and it's really positive. "Next year's World Championships will go towards Olympic qualification so things will start getting really serious, and I think given the age profile of the team - and the fact that we are so competitive in so many events - is a really good place to start the Olympic journey."
  3. Final Medals Table was hard to find, Wikipedia seems to be the only place to have it. Using the scientifically-recognised Ranking by Total Medals method, run out the clear winners with 14 medals, a gallant second with 13 and tied for third with 5 each. 2025 UCI Track Cycling World Championships - Wikipedia
  4. So the World Track final total was 14 medals overall 4G 8S 3B, and in a really good place with the Olympic Qualifying cycle starting with the 2026 World Cups.
  5. No it got scrapped earlier this year. Still the old traditional Six Days as well. Gent Six Day is next month.
  6. So final medal is men's Madison
  7. guy crashed on.lap 2 or something.
  8. Now we get three weeks of frustration until the Levi Slaloms & the Scandi biathlon pre-seasons.
  9. Women's keirin the only sprint event did not win.
  10. also having a very good Champs. Used to be that the keirin was their only event & even then they struggled with the different rules.
  11. Yeah you can start the kids on the old concrete tracks, but for World class athletes you need a World Class track for sure.
  12. stole that points race like it was an exhibit in the Louvre.
  13. Not a chance. Not even a criterium. Theo Vos was the only guy who could do it, probably ever. The French had a sprint World Champ, Gregory Bauge, who could not even ride 200m.
  14. Italians used to be the masters of sprint tactics, but since they took the 25-minute track stands out of it, they have struggled.
  15. Just look at women's magazines - fashion, diets, makeup, interior design, gossip but never any articles about sport.
  16. Aaargh! Maes cannot find the second run to match his first, so top 20 only.
  17. And they went with the predictable Mondo & Femke Bol - bit unfair to Kambundji, I'd say.
  18. Started! Visibility not great, so again with the go fast.
  19. Weather delay, decision soon.
  20. Not quite so good, but had built enough for security.
  21. Second run running on go-fast schedule, so maybe weather change coming.
  22. Well, three more than most countries! But how many start off as teenagers then switch at U-23 or so? Rather more, I think?
  23. They have a big slice of luck in that cycling & speed skating are the two most compatible winter & summer sports so they can switch talent between the two.
  24. Goggia the first crash of the day, but is up & skiing down to the finish.
  25. Yeah, unlike sports like soccer, there are sometime weird country exemptions for some events. This is the page to check - like I say, it changes week from week so look regularly. FIS TV
