  1. Dunno what any of it means, but there’s more Norwegian summer cross-country racing this weekend. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCE3RWD8MDZ5_5P8v-6G05RA
  2. Chouette! Here’s the link. https://www.youtube.com/user/ifscchannel
  3. There’s different tests & they don’t 100% overlap. Think that’s a bit more likely than a corrupt pro-Faroese conspiracy at the heart of UEFA, Inspector.
  4. I know some of you don’t like TV directors who dwell on injuries, but this clip has an important lesson for all those who go to ball parks. https://www.mlb.com/athletics/news/foul-ball-hits-teddy-bear-in-a-s-stands
  5. Just caught up with the final event. Very proud of Mellow Yellow, after a terrible season they were up & challenging all race and finally climbed off last to 14th place. Close season will be a difficult time with fans & sponsors insisting on big changes from the team management.
  6. Yeah, I’m sure I have seen this before. They’re an amateur club, probably spread over 50 islands, so won’t turn down the chance for a training session.
  7. Welsh League did not always exist: was only set up in 1992. Once it was set up, teams had to calculate based in their history, fanbase etc whether it was better to be in one or the other system. Some clubs that had only ever been in regional Leagues in England transferred to the Welsh League, but the big names - Cardiff, Swansea, Wrexham - obviously preferred to stay in the FA.
  8. Damn, geo-blocked! Is there perhaps some legal formality whereby one team must appear at the appointed time, and the other team must not before a walkover is awarded?
  9. So that goes down as a 0-3 loss I think. Unless they cancel the second leg as well.
  10. Small question of medical ethics there, though.
  11. Long-term British National coach Jurgen Gröbler steps down. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/rowing/53852817 Had a tremendous record of success since 1991 - 33 Olympic Gold medals. Had also many medals with the old teams.
  12. Stockholm preview. Unfortunately they’ve gone back to stupid stunts in some events. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/athletics/53849431
  13. Most of the Men’s 200m double up - Mike Rogers will be freshest. Lyles does the double.
  14. Very strong women’s 200m in Oooh, Lordy, Viktoria Tkachuk Lynna Irby takes it in 22.56.
  15. Hungarian long-jumper Nguyen benefits from a home judge on the LJ board....
  16. One small exception is Scotland, where one English team plays - Berwick Rangers - who are about 70km from the nearest other English team. I think there’s also N.Irish teams playing in the Irish system. But obviously all this is because the four British systems existed long before any other organistion.
  17. Livestream for the Hungary meet - 16:00 Uk, 17:00
  18. Ineos squad named for the TdF - Bernal will lead, Geraint Thomas is out, will lead the Giro, Chris Froome also out, will lead the Vuelta. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/cycling/53830140
  19. Stockholm DL schedule & competitors for Sunday afternoon. https://stockholm.diamondleague.com/en/lists-results-stockholm/
  20. Looks like a good meet - The Istvan Gyulai from Hungary is on the same night.
  21. Hah! Peleton in Wallonie caught taking a sneaky short-cut through someone’s neat suburban garden! Arnauld Demare gets over Caleb Ewan for the win.
  22. Was too much for Pinot in the end, got the gap down to 10 secs - well, dodgy GPS timings anyway - but Martinez fought back.
  23. Epic drama in the Dauphiné - the two Martinez & Lopez battling it out with Pinot for the overall...Pinot getting lots of help from French riders on other teams, some big favours being called in. Meanwhile Seb Kuss is going for the stage.
  24. Tour de Wallonie is sponsored by the local tourist board, so we are getting more chateaux than cycling at the moment. Heading towards a city-centre bunch sprint in heavy rain.... Long, straight & wide last km, fortunately. All went down safely, Caleb Ewan takes the sprint.
  25. Hopefully just a precaution for Roglič. Sets up a good battle for the overall though.
