    Nasty crash for Tiesj Benoot from the leading group. Fortunately the grass is very lush! About €4000 worth of damage for the bike.

Sam Bennett got the intermediate bonus, so is now equal with Sagan on points but way down on time, so unless he does something in the end.... Today’s futile, pointless, doomed solo bid for glory will be staged by Nils Politt

    Lausanne Diamond League tomorrow. Not a full meet though - it’s a special pole-vault only city centre event held on the only flat bit of Lausanne, in front of the station. All the big men’s names are there. Women’s event not quite so strong.

    Only going to be one WTS race this year, and it’s in Hamburg this weekend. Men & Womens on Saturday, team relay Sunday. https://wts.triathlon.org/news/article/2020_world_triathlon_champions_to_be_crowned_at_wts_hamburg There’s also a couple of World Cup races in September & October, but obviously no chance of races in N. America.
