  1. Damn, there goes my NBA career!
  2. Why bother? If the season’s cancelled they will have all the excitement & drama of one of those pre-season tournaments played in Bangkok or Kuala Lumpur.
  3. I suppose the good thing is that it’ll open the NBA up to a lot of new players. Up until now very tall young guys have had a monopoly of the best jobs in the Sport. However, now that it’s all about boycotts and not about playing basketball anyone - short, fat, middle-aged, one-legged - will be able to become a pro basketball boycotter. So the whole sport becomes a lot more equal.
  4. Indeed it will. Soon the factory goes out if business & all grievances are automatically resolved.
  5. If they don’t care enough to play, why should anyone care to watch? Ratings are already in the toilet, this ought to kill them. Just end the season already.
  6. Just wait till they find out what this placename means. https://www.nps.gov/grte/index.htm
  7. Nice British double in the Women’s GP de Plouay this morning. Lizzie Deignan beats Lizzie Banks after a long dual break. Big &m names in the chasing pack never managed to bury the egos. Race held in pouring rain & driving wind, or what we in Britain call “a day at the beach.”
  8. Well, if girls don’t want to be questioned about their weight perhaps they should concentrate on sports where it is less of an issue, like rugby.
  9. Which cannot possibly exist yet, since nobody had ever been compelled to wear those cheap chinese masks all day before. Guess we’ll find out in five years or so.
  10. Oh, and is this the same World Health Organisation that were telling is masks were NOT needed six months ago? Have they been able to conduct any research into the long-term effects of using masks daily - say, over the period of a year or so - in the intervening six months? Because a lot of research has been done over many decades going back over 150 years into the long term effects of fine dust particles on the lungs. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC1035330/ Yet you say the World Health Organisation has, in the space of merely six months, been able to lay all these doubts to rest. Truly they are miracle workers!
  11. Saw the same in the French nationals last week, there were four of them at one point. Race Commissars should really be enforcing the rules on the road, they’re not just out there to dry their hair. And of course they will be ultra-strict at the Olympics & everyone will complain.
  12. Do face masks alone protect against COVID? Science says NO! French health authorities have warned of a 'very worrying' outbreak of coronavirusat a famous nudist resort in the south of the country. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-8658063/100-nudists-test-positive-Covid-19-worrying-outbreak-French-naturist-resort.html Do not be tempted to look at the photos btw. Nothing but disappointment awaits. (Well, apart from the top-left corner of photo #15, obviously.)
  13. Usain Bolt positive for Covid after behaving like an idiot. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/sportsnews/article-8658877/Usain-Bolt-tests-positive-coronavirus-days-celebrating-34th-birthday-party.html Several other sports people involved.
  14. Well, he seemed disappointed! I’m sure if I been pedalling under an August Andalucian sun for six hours I’d want something a bit better!
  15. Excellent last 10k in the French Nationals today, won’t spoil it, but worth the watch.
  16. Gets the win, but no chance of a good time.
  17. It’s a very old record & is now a long way behind most other continents, so good luck. Kids, Mondo Duplantis is not going to be able to read your signs if you write them in Swedish..... 6.01 WL. Very impressive from Laura Muir! Duplantis going for 6.15, but it’s very windy....
  18. Del Ponte wins again, must be disappointed there’s no 4x100s so far this year. I guess Lausanne will put one on.
  19. It’s the ER, second best ever. Wikipedia page has already updated!
  20. Wow, Warholm 46:87 after clipping the last hurdle..... Miles ahead of the field!
  21. Stockholm live strøm here.
  22. Horrible day for Jesus Herrada - was fighting it out with Luis Leon Sanchez for the Spanish title, but dropped his chain on the cobbles with 200m to go.....would have had Silver for sure, but ended up walking has bike over the line down about 15th or so.
  23. French, Italian & Spanish National Championship Cycling races. Stockholm Diamond League (in spite of Long Jump stupidity)
  24. Looks like I was wrong & the Germans are taking #dcro’s robust approach. Three pop concerts are being staged on one day in Germany to enable scientists to investigate the risks of such mass indoor events during the pandemic. It’s German pop, so nobody cares what happens to the musicians anyway. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-53875370
  25. Caught up with Blink Biathlon from 2 weeks ago. The YT vid is very confusing because it’s mixed up with CC skiing but it’s all there. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vz3Abb7GveI 00:37:00- Women’s Super Sprint 01:04:00- Men’s Super Sprint 02:18:00 - Women’s Pursuit 03:07:00- Men’s Pursuit
