I never have any issues with 1, 2 is case by case, 3 I have mostly negatives feelings about, though I’m not fully opposed to it. Also depends on the sport, in figure skating for instance I have no problems with one member of the pair being offered citizenship purely so they can compete at the Olympics with their partner who is from that country.

The teams with incomplete teams are are essentially guaranteed to get the additional quotas (2 each for , one for ). If France gets a re-allocated pair quota, then will get two additional quotas. will not be able to have a full team in any case because they do not have a pair team that is anywhere near reaching the tech minimum.

That is still how qualifying for worlds work. They only changed the rule for the Olympics.

Based on how things are going, this is who I expect to be in the team event. Full team: Likely to have full team: Likely to have a full team after additional quota allocation: Likely to have incomplete team: (South Korea will be missing pairs and Poland will be missing dance) France and GB will be pretty secure for an additional team spot (in pairs and men’s respectively), Poland and China will fight it out for the additional dance spot (depends on their team ranking). If either gets a pairs spot through re-allocation or if both and qualify in ice dance then every country except Korea will have a full team (as far as I can tell South Korea has no eligible pairs team)

The whole way quotas to worlds are decided is quite bad in general.

I mean, between five weight classes or six weight classes... obviously better for the lifters to have six weight classes, even if it goes down from 12 to 10 lifters per.
