    I'm so happy with this gold medal. If this isn't my favourite moment of these Olympics it's because something amazing will have happened later (yes this narrowly beats Harvey's medal for me!)

    It's a FIFA thing specifically. It was like that in Qatar 2022 and Australia/NZ 2023, and presumably it will be like this in NA 2026 as well.

    Ya, eight gold medals is the point where I will personally consider these Olympics a success for Canada regardless of the details or where we end up on the medal table. Would be nice to be 11th again tho :P

    Agreed that is favourite to lead the medal table, that being said there is a decent chance two different countries end up winning the men's and women's event and no other medal.

    Ya, IMO the repechage is only just a way to fill up the morning sessions with more races. In that way I guess it did work? From a competitive standpoint it's a real bust.

    If Phil Wizzard wins gold there is a good chance this will be only the second summer sport where Canada leads the medal table xD

    realistically needs two more gold medals to stay past . They will win another Canoeing gold courtesy of Dame Lisa Carrington, and Lydia Ko is looking like the favourite to win women's golf (I would be reasonably happy with that outcome, medal standing implications asside, she would be a really worthy winner)

    Ya, I find the breaking way too subjective to be a sport, but IMO it's at least entertaining. It's kinda fun to watch, and I've enjoyed watching some previous events. Don't want it in the Olympics, but I'm not that upset that it's here as a one time curriosity. Fully agree that the MCs are incredibly annoying xD
