  1. ...you do realize what the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland is, right?
  2. Well, that and the Olympics is actually important in women’s football, unlike in men’s football.
  3. Correct, along with the winner of Italy - Netherlands and Germany - Sweden.
  4. Good. Wave pools should be a last resort.
  5. The Olympics are close to as important as the World Cup in the women’s game, if not as important.
  6. He’s American. Got San Marino citizenship through his mom.
  7. I don’t think it’s allowed for a ref from CONCACAF or UEFA to handle it.
  8. Don’t forget that the goal was disallowed by the referee that was appointed because obviously a French-speaking Canadian ref would have a bias towards France. ( /s)
  9. That’s football for ya.
  10. As opposed to Cameroon who played very beautiful football?
  11. At this point I don’t see Skateboarding, Surfing or Climbing going anywhere anytime soon, and at this point they may as well make them permanent. Breaking... I suspect that might be a one time experiment.
  12. Not a surprising outcome given the farcical format. Hopefully they improve things by the 2023 tournament.
  13. I don’t get how people see this as a corrupt decision. The IOC went with the safest option, which is completely understandable given their current situation. Milan just had a good bid.
  14. I don’t think anybody predicted that France and Romania would play to a scoreless draw.
  15. I think it’s time to do some change in the coaching staff. If heads don’t roll after this I will be extremely disappointed. This was a disastrous tournaments, scoring four goals in four matches when you got to play Cameroon and New Zealand, really? Time to rebuild, and not around Sinclair.
  16. I feel this would have been more likely had the Calgary bid survived.
  17. I’d be surprised if the France - Brazil match ended with 22 players on the field. It’s rough out there.
  18. I don’t think you quite understand how good that is for Brazil xD This is really no different than having a Brazilian ref a Portugal / England game or whatever.
  19. ...how the heck is Mongolia the second seed?
  20. I really like that their cross country venue is urban. Would provide for a great atmosphere.
  21. I feel like I'm the only person here who would be pretty happy with either bid winning (either will be an improvement over Beijing IMO). Both bids have pretty big weaknesses, but I feel like they also both have some pretty big strengths too. If it wasn't for the venues for Alpine Skiing and the sliding sports I would be all in behind the Stockholm bid. But hosting the sliding sports in another country is just really weird and Milan's Alpine Skiing venues are way, way better than Åre. I'm honestly really torn on which bid I prefer.
  22. This might be a stupid question, but do performances in combined events count for Olympic qualification in the individual event?
  23. Félix Auger-Aliassime is already the GOAT when it comes to playing against Stefanos Tsitsipas xD
  24. If France and Romania draw they are both qualified for the Olympics. Who is the genius that thought that having three groups and only letting four teams make the knockout stage was a good idea? At least you can’t accuse UEFA of sexism, their men’s Olympic qualification system is as terrible as their women’s.
