  1. Brad Jacobs has secured a spot in the men's final, there is no scenario left where he isn't in first place per Devin Heroux.
  2. Freeride also. https://www.lequipe.fr/Ski/Actualites/-c-est-excitant-le-freeride-une-discipline-frisson-en-bonne-voie-pour-integrer-les-jo-2030/1612127
  3. first seeds, as God intended
  4. It’s also that CAS ruled on it so late that it was not tenable to exclude Australia
  5. I guess that’s it - short track thrives on chaos, long track not so much.
  6. She was awesome on the CBC Curling podcast she used to co-host with Devin Heroux. Maybe the most breezy yet serious sports show I’ve ever listened to.
  7. Honestly funny how great the mixed relay is in short track (even though on paper it shouldn’t have worked) while it’s a complete dumpster fire in long track. (I think it being a much shorter distance than the regular relay also helps it have it’s own personality compared to the regular relay)
  8. The women’s team pursuit in particular should be longer. Six laps is way too short.
  9. Yes, though normally that NOC would return five quotas. There is an entry time for all events too.
  10. Relays just don’t work well in long track. The ISU already has a good team format with the team sprint and team pursuit and should just focus on that.
  11. Sorry, 39. Specifically Canada *needs* to skate 3:39.176 or better to have any chance to qualify a men’s team pursuit team (assuming there aren’t *four* quotas that get declined xD )
  12. They need to lay down a 3:29.high at sea level to qualify by time. Qualifying by points is not possible.
  13. It would kinda take a miracle at this point.
  14. No I think this is a very popular opinion for everyone other than the Germans.
  15. Valerie Maltais easily wins the women's 1500m B division, with a time that would have been sixth in the A division.
  16. Wikipedia qualification page updated after today's races.
  17. Bloemen showed he is a medal contender in Milan, and also took a huge step towards qualifying for the 10k
  18. Monster skate! Track record!
  19. Not sure if he's pre-selected but as far as getting NOC quotas for the Olympics last season's results are irelevant. Looks like Howe's poor form is going to cost Canada one quota in both the 1000m and the 1500m. (Though it might not be that big of a deal, it won't affect Canada's overall quota - they just really need to qualify for the TP and for Bloemen to qualify for the 10k in order to get 8 men's quotas - and there is a decent chance Canada will get a third quota come game time in the 1000m, too early to say about the 1500m)
  20. Go check Wikipedia, just updated the men's 1000m standings (Haven't updated the Women's rankings yet because the world cup ranking isn't accurate yet because it doesn't reflect a DQ that happened)
  21. He could not race a single time for the rest of the world cups and he still would have a 500m quota.
  22. Which would also likely be career ending given this is meant to be her final season.
  23. Given his form I am less than optimistic. Unless he's nursing an injury or illness that will get better during the break.
  24. Don't let facts get in the way of talking about something related to the Olympics being surely cancelled!
  25. I mean, they have pretty much the exact same status as (constituent country within an independent country that does compete in the Olympics) so I would say no.
