Re Skateboarding I don't see if snowboarding can be at the winter Olympics why cannot be skateboarding in the summer one. So I am ok with this one (moreover I like to watch it haha) Surfing and sport climbing are even more "legit" than skateboarding. It will be more interesting what attitude will the eventual IOC president show towards a Saudi/Qatari/Emirati OG. Hopefully at least for 2036 this bullet can be dodged. If I remember correctly this leaves Bosnia and Macedonia without a medal from the broader Western Balkans region (ex Yu + Albania) About the naturalised RU citizens: is this guy in question naturalised as Albania since the beginning of the war? E.g. has a wrestler who is from Russia (Ismail Musukaev) who competes for Hungary since 2019, well before the war. And for that matter as far as I know he is not even ethnically Russian (was born in Tatarstan province/region)

Maybe the non professional (meaning not informed about the competition/race) camera/production staff only got some material before the competition which stated that Boehm was the world champion and no 1 seed going into the race. Probably someone forgot to tell them that Boehm finished among the last in fencing there by eliminating himself from the medal contenders. I don't see any other reason why a non Hungarian broadcast operator shows Boehm in this situation.

Probably it is not a good press if people travel to the Olympics on the state's expense, do not reach an internationally excellent level of performance (if I found it correctly this swimmer finished among the last of the 31 member field of her event) and then acts as a tourist, documenting all that in social media. Some people might ask the question back home: should we really spend on this?

Nobody was under any illusion of the quality of the team compared to the 2000-2008 one. My concern was whether we can avoid the all time worst finish. Even if we finished 4th that would be accomplished.
