  1. Very tough group for us, three european teams and china, this will be very tough
  2. What an INSANE win by thailand, and they put Japan in a bad predicament. Thailand's last game is against Peru who will probably be out at that point, Japan still have to play against 2 european teams, but even if japan loses twice it's enough for them to lose 2-3 one time. Italy and Netherlands also sure seems to qualify so really seems like Japan or Thailand for the last spot (and what a miss by thailand after the previous loss to japan)
  3. really looks like Italy, Japan, Netherlands, South Korea dont see anyone who will prevent them from going to rio
  4. How does the seeding determined for rio? is it the final standings in 15-16 world series?
  5. A lot of countries have that, Mongolia, France, Brazil,Japan, Turkey (and thats just from the competitions in the first day in the almaty grand prix, i didnt overview the other 2 days yet, tomorrow i can review the full picture of the same noc competition of each weight)
  6. Going back to the rankings, taking the judoka with most points whos country still didnt qualify anyone in his/her weight (for example if south africa will not take the continental quota, which is Mabulu in Men's 66, then it will go to the next men who's country didnt qualify already)
  7. However there are top 16 from same country where one judoka can overtake the other with good performance (like Urzoboev and Lutfilaev from uzbekistan in Men 60, but there are a lot of examples)
  8. oh yea you are right, i forgot it....Shlomi Heimi is the one
  9. Still to Come Not much left in terms of athletes who still might Qualify. Judo will produce 7 or 8 more (Or Sasoon, Sagi Muki, Golan Pollack, Linda Bolder, Yarden Jerbi, Gili Cohen and currently Shira Rishony have the continental quota that still might go to Artem Arshansky if she can get into the top 14 which she is close to because she is just 44 points behind) Rowing - Dani Fridman have the Continental Event in the end of the month and might make the quota in Men Singles Triathlon - Ron Darmon will make the cut in the official rankings out next week Golf - Leticia Beck will probably be in the field for Women's Golf Cycling Road- Shani Bloh is at the edge of the ranking list Cycling Mountain Bike - Shlomi Heimy is well within the quota and is close of getting one quota place for israel Tennis - Dudi Sela is also right at the edge
  10. Past Israel arriving to the Rio 2016 games after disappointing games in London where they didnt win a medal for the first time since Barcelona. In 1992 the first 2 medals came in Judo, Yael Arad with the silver and Oren Smadja (the national judo coach today) with the bronze. 1996 saw Gal Fridman win bronze in sailing, 2000 Michael Kalganov won bronze in Kayak Sprint, 2004 2 medals won again. Bronze by Arik Zeevi in Judo and finally a gold by Gal Fridman in sailing. Last medal was in Beijing by Shahar Tzuberi, Bronze in Sailing. However 2012 wasn't so good Lee Kurzits came closest to a medal in Sailing but a bad medal race knocked her out. Alex Shatilov made the all around final which was a big achievement but he was a contender on the floor exercise and only finished 6th. Sergey Richter didnt make the final in shooting, Alice Shlesinger (representing Great Britain this year) lost in the repechage round in Judo. A good achievement was Yakov Toumarkin in swimming 200 Back, who reached the final and finished 7th.

  12. Question..... during the olympic trials USA had a K1 Women competition, Why? they didnt win the quota at world championships, or pan am's, and the only competition left is giving a european quota, so what did i miss?
  13. Ill say right now its women 63 and men 100+ with Or Sasoon in great shape. Also womens wrestling and triple jump.
  14. Well they will have less then 50 athletes. Maybe 3 medal hopefuls. No medals in london. 7 medals all together. I think in Olympic terms we are pretty small.
  15. What happens to the 4 Host Quota's? Do Brazil get them or do they move to the Tripartite Invitations?
  16. Israel first time in womens wrestling. And probably triathlon and womens road cycling
  17. Not completely true, only top 14 women goes automatically so things will change, also there are few battles within the same country (Lutfillaev,Urzoboev in men 60 for example) that are separated by very few points and all the points in a masters could definitely help one overtake the other
  18. A lot of the Israeli Olympians are naturalized * Hanna Minnenko Knyazeyva represented Ukraine in London and won silver in Beijing for Israel * Andrea Muraz was swimming for USA and now will represent Israel in Rio * Marharyta Drozhon Javelin * Gymanstics - Alex Shatilov * Shooting - Sergey Richter
  19. Thats exactly what i thought. Yet according to judobase.org they are not ranked...
  20. guys anyone knows if there is any rules as far as number of competitions everyone have to participate in? because bunch of judokas from oceania are unranked according to judobase and they only participated in oceanian championships 2015 and 2016 (but few finished top 2 in both, so according to my calculations enough points to get continental quota)
  21. i asked them through facebook , this was their answer " The schedule has not been released yet. It will be available soon. Keep a look out on our channels. Team FIH "
