  1. In the case of Italy, we had Rizzo, the 200-meter medalist from Tokyo for k-1, who was unable to adapt to the 500 meters and will not go to the Olympics. However, there are no young successors. What's the point of winning medals among juniors or U-23s if we can't transfer it to senior sport later? The result will be that in the kayak sprint we will send two people in c2-500 to Paris... Not much When you remember the times and names such as Rossi-Bonomi or Josefa Idem, it makes me heart sad
  2. The Netherlands is a powerhouse in rowing, so nothing stops you from investing in kayaks. You can choose similar places to train. Here it is more necessary to attract training ideas from abroad, which should not be a problem considering the large financial resources in Dutch sport. It frustrates me that Italy has given up on kayaking, which once brought us many Olympic medals but the problem is that there is still too little money for olympics sports sports in our country.
  3. Italy will started also in: LW2x, M1x and probably in W4x or W2-.
  4. And there is her after 60 years in San Remo 2024. Still phenomenally beautiful and singing beautifully. No botox, fake breasts or lips.
  5. In this competition, only the winner counts for me. There are no silver and bronze medals here. For me this competition has long lost its magic and shine.
  6. That's true. Those were wonderful times and not just because I was young and life was simpler.
  7. In the case of saber, the problem was already visible at last year's World Championships and, in fact, the team's 2 qualifications should be considered a success. For the women a team miss QO of 99% would mean 0 people in Paris and there was a high risk of this happening. For men, we still have to count on Samele and Curatoli.
  8. For me it's at least +1 mixed team, but I'm counting on a men's team. It's a pity that Asia's QO was taken over by low-ranking Kazakhstan, rather than India or Taiwan. This sport has become so competitive lately that basically anyone can beat anyone. The second thing is that before Tokyo that I remember 6-7 teams qualified from the World Championships and now only the medalists and Italy were left with nothing - 4th place.
  9. Looking at individual performances, the Netherlands will be the favorite for team gold and Olympic qualifications. I know it's archery, but it looks that way on paper. So the only thing left for Italy is the world runner-up or ranking (for now we are in 3rd place), so you can also root for e.g. India or Taiwan. However, it is all or nothing, because if our team does not enter, we may have a 0 in men's archery in Paris! Then we can't enter a mixed team either and we have 1 individual chance for women. Drama, since we had as many as 2 medals in Tokyo... Do I understand these rules correctly?
  10. If the team does not advance, there is a high risk that we will have 0 people in men's archery in Paris
  11. I think that Italy needs to improve its result in the mixed relay a bit at the European Championships in Rome to be sure of moving up the rankings.
  12. 4/5 for us + wirtual QO from ranking 4x400 mixed.
  13. Isola and Rizzi are already in the semi-finals Looking at the form this year alone, Navarria is probably doing the worst. Fiamingo definitely shouldn't fight in the last match in team tournaments.
  14. I remember Sydney 2000 best: it was my first Olympics as an informed spectator. Overall, in my opinion it was the best time for our sport: great football, the best football league in Europe and lots of medals at the summer and winter games. On the other hand, after losing the Euro 2000 final against France, I cried for several nights and couldn't sleep. Good thing it was summer then and there was no school :P
  15. Italy is the only nation among men that is able to interrupt Polish domination from time to time, either in the national team or in the club. For me, Trento deserved this title after so many years of waiting. Moreover, it is a rare example of an Italian team with a great youth academy that is not afraid to rely on young Italians: Michieletto and Giannelli trained there in their youth.
  16. A remember that: an unbelievable finish. These were the beginnings of the crisis in our sport and miss of this gold was very hard for me. She later competed for the Azerbaijan national team.
  17. Kherson region was not famous for good kayaking school? For example: Inna Osypenko-Radomska comes from there.
  18. Finally a victory for Trento after 13 years (time of Juantorena and Kazyiski) and three defeats in the three finals in a row (two in 2021 and 2022). The series of victories of Polish teams was also broken: 3 in a row. In the women's game, Paola Egonu played very poorly today and this is worrying in the context of the national team season.
  19. Yes, but it's better to advance today. There is one change from yesterday.
  20. Italian squad today: 4x100 uomini: Roberto Rigali, Marcell Jacobs, Lorenzo Patta, Filippo Tortu 4x100 donne: Zaynab Dosso, Dalia Kaddari, Anna Bongiorni, Arianna De Masi 4x400 uomini: Luca Sito, Vladimir Aceti, Edoardo Scotti, Davide Re 4x400 donne: Rebecca Borga, Ayomide Folorunso, Viginia Troiani, Giancarla Trevisan 4x400 mista: Lapo Bianciardi, Anna Polinari, Riccardo Meli, Alice Mangione Changes from yesterday in bold font.
  21. The 2023 World Champ definitely counts.
