  1. This country dominates in boxing on summer games, for example Paris. I remember that we were cheated of an Italian in a fight with an opponent from this country in the heaviest weight class.
  2. In any case, without Fontana in top form we will have to continue to count on such lucky coincidences.
  3. Men`s team also in final, even though Sighel isn`t in top form.
  5. And from which countries - If you have VPN still can to watch via YouTube? For me, YouTube is the best, because you can watch everything with a delay - even a few days.
  6. It`s all the more strange that Italy qualified two womens for Paris, even though this discipline has been in a great crisis in our country for many years - since we stopped naturalizing Chinese some 20 years ago.
  7. Sven Goran Eriksson probably had 1 year to live after the diagnosis but it was a good life or so it looked like - he traveled, for example, he was in Rome at the Lazio stadium in the spring. If he felt really bad, he probably wouldn't have traveled. I hope it's similar for Hoy, although unfortunately cancer with metastases to the guests can cause severe pain
  8. 2-4 years is not a short time to enjoy life - the question is what will life be like after 2 years? Will it not be full of pain in hospice and under morphine?
  9. Sinner won against Alcaraz for the first time this season. This match will not count towards official statistics but from a mental point of view it will be very important for him. Firstly, a prestigious tournament and final + 6 million dollars more in the account :P
  10. Milan is good, but the rest of the team is weak. What's more, the same people keep starting, even if they are out of shape: Paternoster, Scartezzini, etc. This is a good time for me to test someone younger. We win a lot of medals at junior competitions but the same people keep starting, who will probably never will be better.
  11. She could have tried to compete in the Olympics on the track this year, especially since the road course wasn`t good for her. I don't understand what's the point of fielding riders like Scartezzini... He's 32 and starts in a points race completely anonymously... It's probably time to start fielding younger riders. Ok, Viviani has great authority and we have to say goodbye to him nicely but that's all.
  12. I have a feeling that if Wiebes took track more seriously, she could have won 1-2 gold medals in Paris. Especially since Archibald couldn't start. The competition between these two athletes could be very interesting in the Omnium. Kopecky has lost some of her track skills after putting more concentration on her road career.
  13. A weak day for our team. The women's performance in the pursuit race was very telling... In 2022, we clearly beat the UK in the World Championship final. Now we haven't even advanced to the final, and the UK had no rivals here. At the moment, the UK, New Zealand and the USA are clearly beyond our reach and yet our squad has been very stable squad for several years. Others are making progress, and us? Maybe it's because the UK focuses 100% on the track, and our competitors ride the road all the time. On the other hand, some of the girls in the USA also compete on the road, and they won gold in Paris. After 2022, I expected a little more from our girls than 4th place in Paris and bronze at the World Championships in an Olympic year in a weak field. In my opinion, we miss a great individuality in the women's team, like Ganna in the men's, or Archibald in the UK, Kopecky in Belgium, etc. What great individuality means was shown yesterday by Wiebes in scratch, who outclassed the rest of her opponents, despite never having competed on the track before. Perhaps Balsamo would be such a person for us, but unfortunately constant injuries don`t allow her to spread her wings. We did win gold in Paris in Madison but let's not kid ourselves that neither Paternoster, nor Consonni, Guazzini, or Fidanza will ever be great stars.
  14. And when was the last time you had a winter where you could skate outside? Is`t more like 10 or 30 years ago?
  15. Are conditions used for skating in Netherlands in winter time, now? I read that it some time ago to be very popular. How is it now? Secondly, how does the covered track in Heerenveen earn money outside of competition days? Do other teams from other countries train there or can private people just skate there?
  16. Perhaps because of the increasingly warmer winters? From a competitive sports perspective, you need to train indoors to be successful these days: training takes place all year round + you are free from weather conditions. I suspect that until the end of the 20th century there were a lot of open ice rinks - the weather allowed it then.
  17. The track in Inzell was also once open but the Germans decided to cover it and now they make money on the fact that, for example, the Italian team trains there in the summer. If the Italians had such a good approach to business, they would build a covered track in Collalbo themselves and, for example, other nations would train here, e.g. Poland, the Czech Republic, etc. The Olympics in 2026 should be an impulse for such action but unfortunately in Italy is miss wise and competent managers.
  18. I think that our speed skating staff is doing a great job under Marchetto's leadership. At least 1 covered ice track is missing, so that we don't have to train all summer and autumn in Inzell. Unfortunately, Turin 2006 was a great missed opportunity and that object is no longer used for sports purposes. In 2026, unfortunately, it may be similar, which is why I regret that a covered track wasn`t built in Collalbo - I find the arguments that it`s a small town funny, since we train in Inzell - similarly, a small village in Bavaria.
  19. Barelli is their enemy and they are taking revenge on the athletes. And unfortunately, water polo in close matches is 90% dependent on referees. And I`m afraid that until Barelli leaves, it will be like this. This also shows that Malago isn`t able to do anything, because in most federations we have problems, even in those where we used to have an advantage, e.g. fencing. The Paris Olympics showed this.
  20. You write these results quite funny. In tennis it`s quite unusual, e.g. 2x 3 places
  21. Euro 2004 was definitely above par, but the following years up to 2014, e.g. under Santos, showed that it wasn`t entirely a coincidence (not qualifying for the 2006 World Cup was, in turn, a result below par and this has evened out to some extent). In retrospect, I can write that Greece from the first decade of the 21st century wasn`t a much weaker team than current Italy, which also won Euro 2021 (I also consider this a result above par and some lucky).
  22. In the previous edition of the Nations League, they lost, for example, 0-4 at home to Hungary. It`s no coincidence that they are now playing in the 2nd division. However, they will certainly return to good form in the World Cup qualifiers and one of the seeded teams will have a problem if they draw England from the 3rd pot (I remind you that the seeding will be based only on this Nations League). Knowing our bad luck: Italy - drawn from the 1st pot will fall on England
  23. I'm counting on that too. The question is how many more years do we need?
  24. In my opinion, people believe in propaganda because they want to believe in it - it's more convenient for them. They could look for independent information, but they don't want to do that. In Russia, people want to believe that Russia is great, but the whole evil world is against it. If they wanted to think more critically, they would have to accept reality as it is. Not everyone wants that. That is why Putin is a credible meaning emanation of the majority of society – he tells people what they expect from him.
  25. Until recently I thought that propaganda on TV no longer plays such a role as it did in the times of the USSR due to start of the Internet but as you can see it still works
