  1. Day 7 Preview A huge huge day today, with 5 gold medal chances for Australia. Our first chance in the day, and least likely comes with Morrison/Mcintyre in the rowing woman’s pair final. They are the clear favourites for silver behind the dutch pair. I cant help but think this is our only chance for gold in rowing, but its small. Men’s windsurfing medal race is today, and grae morris is straight through to the final. I hope he can win it, as it would be a surprising gold for us. Swimming tonight is Cam Mcevoy in the 50free final and Kaylee in the 200back. Cant help but think both are must wins. Will be very nervous Then the day ends with the BMX racing finals. Sakakibara looked really strong so far but hopefully she continues in the semis and then the final. Conservatively I think Kennedy is just a small bronze medal chance as although hes looked good, the french could wipe out that podium. Outside of the medals today some important things happening such as high jump qualifying, hopefully patterson and olyslagers start well, and lets see what moloney can do in the decathlon. Teremoana in the boxing 92kg quarterfinal. Massive day!
  2. Day 6 Review A really solid day with good results right across the board. The Racewalks went as I expected, with Tingay 11th and Montag getting the bronze. I hope we can contend in the new mixed relay event. Tara Rigney is through to the A final in the single sculls, while both eight boats got through the repechage Del Solar/Clancy are looking good to go through in the beach volleyball. Not so much for both men’s teams Woman’s 3x3 basketball with solid wins over China and the US, are currently first overall. Still more games to come Men’s Hockey bounced back after the Belgian defeat with a 5-0 win over NZ, but the woman were held to a tight 3-3 draw. Both teams will progress to the next stage Sailing is still looking great for us as Grae morris in the windsurfing still leads after 13 races. Matt Wearn got underway today in the laser and is 2nd overall after 2 races. Water Polo has been great for us at these Paris games as the men defeated France 9-8. Woman’s basketball got a crucial win over Canada 70-65 Surfing looks good as Tyler Wright is through to the quarters. The Ewing/Robinson showdown is happening in the next few hours, so at least one Aussie will be through to the semi. Kennedy and Sakakibara look strong so far in the BMX racing, both are through to the semis. With swimming it was underwhelming for dekkers not to medal but Woman’s 4x200 with a great gold and Olympic record. Such a crucial result as we didn’t win that one in Tokyo. Cam was ok in semi but will need to swim faster tomorrow. So in the end a great day overall with solid results, but we are building into a massive day tomorrow with many chances Medal Count after day 6 Gold 8 Silver 6 Bronze 4
  3. Christou! 💪💪👍 Yassou Get in!
  4. Cam 21.32 in the heat!
  5. Day 6 Preview Day starts with the race walks, our best chance is Jemima Montag, as she will be one of the favourites, ranked no 3 in the world. In the rowing the both eight boats are in the repechages, Tara rigney in single sculls semi final, men’s 4 in the A and maybe a small chance for bronze with that. Swimming heats this morning we will get our first look at McEvoy the 50, he is now so crucial after what happened last night. Kaylee in 200 back heats, Woman’s 4x200 relay aswell. Men’s windsurfing continues so hopefully grae morris continues his form. wearn gets under way in the Icla 7 Also beginning today is the BMX racing, Sakakibara and Kennedy are both big chances so hopefully they start well. In swimming finals tonight hopefully dekkers can sneak in a minor medal in the 200 butterfly, and the woman’s 4x200 relay is a must win. Hopefully a gold, silver and bronze today but a surprise in the woman’s race walk would be nice.
  6. Day 5 Review That tough swimming session dampened what has otherwise been a good day for Australia. Day started positively with Penny Smith making the Trap final and going on to win a solid bronze Hauser 7th in Triathlon which was the best result for an Australian in 20 years A surprise win over Netherlands for our woman in the water polo Natalya Diehm bmx bronze was a surprise result Logan martin failed to land a run in the BMX free final, but I didn’t predict him to win pre games, I thought JeanJean would win it. Jess Fox was incredible and has now completed the K1 C1 double with the cross still to come Peers/Ebden through to Semi finals of mens doubles but Ebden/Perez choked badly in the mixed, having match point. Biggest positive of the day outside of Jess Fox has to be Grae Morris in the windsurfing, he’s stormed into 1st place overall after 4 solid races today. Theres still a while to go but will be one to keep an eye on as I was expecting matt wearn to be our only sailing gold medal chance. swimming was rough, but I’m proud of both Chalmers and ZSC. Both gold medal winners were just too good, there wasn’t much more they could do Im more disappointed with MOC, sarah did swim well but thats such a painful event for us not to win, let alone even medal. Extremely poor result I’m now getting concerned that we may not reach the 17 golds won in tokyo, but there is still many chances ahead. At the end of swimming we will likely be down on swimming golds compared to tokyo. So reaching 17 is just gonna be extremely tough because of that. We definitely wont reach 50 medals. But still a small chance of getting near 17 golds, although very tough. We still have a healthy amount chances to come Medal Count after day 5 Gold 7 Silver 6 Bronze 3
  7. Jess you are fucking incredible ❤️❤️
  8. Natalya Diehm Bronze 🥉in Woman’s BMX Freestyle!!! First unexpected medal of the games so far for Australia, as I can’t recall her finishing better than 5th before. A great result 👍 Penny smith also just sneaks through to Trap Final.
  9. Day 5 Preview Day 5 is likely to be the biggest day of the games for Australia in terms of chances for gold. First medal chance for Australia will come in the men’s Triathlon, as Hauser is a small chance for a bronze. It will then be a wait to see if Penny Smith makes the final of the woman’s trap. My prediction of not winning a gold in rowing is looking likely but there are 2 important semi finals today with Tara Rigney in the woman’s single sculls and Morrison/McIntyre in the woman’s pair. Lizzie Dekkers the main one to look for in the heats of the swimming. First gold chance of the day will come with reigning champ Logan Martin in the BMX free final. I didn’t predict him to win again pre games but you never know. Then we see Jess fox again in woman’s C1 final. Really hope she completes the double. Then the swimming tonight is going to be something else. MOC in the woman’s 100 free final, Chalmers in the men’s 100 free final, and ZSC in the 200 breast final. I really want us to win at least 2/3 of these but it’s tough once again. I think MOC is most likely. Not winning any of these would be a disaster. Shayna Jack could also end up on the podium. It hard to predict how many of these chances I want us to win today, but this is clearly the day that will seperate an average games to an incredible games for the team. Looking forward to it but it will be a tough one.
  10. Day 4 Review A rough day for Australia was saved at the end thanks to Kaylee Mckeown defeating smith in the swimming 100back final. That result is also crucial for our chances in beating the US in the swimming gold medal tally, which is very much possible. The day started positively with our men defeating Serbia in the water polo, but things very quickly started to turn bad a few hours later with the Boomers losing to Canada, then James Willet bottoming out in the mens trap final, doing much more poorly than in qualifying. Whilst that was happening, it was also absolute chaos at the Rugby 7s as our woman strongly favoured to make the gold medal final and contend against NZ was defeated by Canada. Then to make matters worse, they go on to lose the bronze medal final against the US. This was giving London 2012/Rio 2016 vibes at this point, with poor results happening all over the joint. Mens hockey then go on the lose to Belgium 6-2 which is a concern. But thankfully Kaylee critically saved the day with that massive result, as Smith was always gonna be more likely to take the 100back crown from her compared to the 200. Mens 4x200 relay was fine and gave us our first bronze of the games Medal Count After Day 4 Gold 6 Silver 4 Bronze 1 We are now also only 2 golds away from matching the amount won in London and rio.
  11. That’s what happens when you don’t convert penalty corners
  12. NBC quickly going to an add break now for the medal ceremony 👍
  13. What a meet Italy are having 👍👍 Congrats Ireland aswell
  14. A rough day for Australia is forgotten. The relief man 😭
  15. Kaylee saves the day MASSIVE thank god 😂😂
  16. YESSS YESSS YESSSSSSSSSS
  17. This day has really turned ugly quickly, but it was always gonna eventually happen…. Just poor results everywhere you look bar the win over Serbia in water polo. That rugby result is horrible. I’m coping with it by saying that if we won that we would’ve lost to NZ anyway in the final. We BADLY need Kaylee to win later in the 100 back to rescue today.
  18. Canadaaaaa why are you doing this to me today
  19. Bro left his supplements at the village 💀
  20. ZSC giving me a heart attack before the last 25m as always
  21. Lani Pallister withdraws from 1500m due to covid 🦠
  22. Day 4 Preview Another massive day for the team, with many medal chances although some tough ones. I can see 3 gold medal chances today, with James willet in trap shooting, McKeown in 100 back swimming, and woman’s rugby sevens gold medal final. Lots of important swimming heats underway aswell. Small chances for bronze today in men’s 4x200 relay and Haecker in woman’s 63kg judo. It will be tough, but goal for today is 2 golds won, and a bronze. We could win 3 golds today, or not even get 1. It will be tough Massive day 💪💪
  23. Day 3 Review Another mostly solid day for Australia, with MOC getting the better over Titmus for gold in the 200free, and Chris Burton getting a silver in the Equestrian Eventing Individual Jumping final. Outside of the medals won, both hockey teams with solid results and are both 2 from 2, woman’s rugby storm through to the semis and are looking in top form. Also worth noting James willet in the trap shooting qualification is currently inside the top 3 and in good form. A Robinson/Ewing matchup awaiting in the Quarter finals of the surfing There were a handful of poor results today however which will hurt our chances for medals later on, such as Short not making the 800free final, which inevitably rules out his chances of a good result in the 1500m, opals basketball with a ugly loss to Nigeria, Tokyo boxing bronze medalist Garside crashing out in the round of 16 Overall Day 3 went to plan in terms of the medals won. TOTAL MEDAL COUNT Gold- 5 Silver- 4 Bronze- 0
