  1. Ahora abro otro thread para comentar la actividad deportiva Argentina en general.
  2. [hide] Knockout Round January 22nd - January 29th, 2023 8 Nations, The Winners of each Crossover-matches will qualify for the Quarterfinals. Crossovers Date & Time (GMT +5:30) Nation 1 T1 T2 Nation 2 January 22nd 2023, h. 16:30 Malaysia 2 4 Spain January 22nd 2023, h. 19:00 India 3 1 New Zealand January 23rd 2023, h. 16:30 Argentina 3 0 South Korea January 23rd 2023, h. 19:00 Germany 4 1 France [/hide]
  3. - Many older players retired and the younger ones are very mediocre. - The coach is just some former assistant they hired because it was cheap. - they barely play games outside big tournaments (this is a perennial problem though). Nobody cares about this sport anymore. There was one good generation (the Youth 2007/Juniors 2009) and they did the best they could but nothing really changed.
  4. Most impressive team so far is England. I think this is the strongest they have looked since 2012. I knew beforehand that Netherlands was in a "mirage" pool with extremely weak teams... Chile weakest team in the WC, Malaysia typical defensively weak asian team, NZ a declining team. The QF match will be a drastic spike in difficulty for them.
  5. I missed a prediction for the first time in this WC and it was bittersweet since I didn't get the prediction points nor an amazing win for our team... was really close but Australia saved the draw.
  6. Unlike the women's, things are so predictable in men's hockey right now... This group stage literally has only 4 games in which I have any kind of doubt of who the winner will be: ENGvIND RSAvFRA GERvBEL KORvJPN That's it, every other game already has a winner set before the start.
  7. Time to see if the dutch men can also play handball (probably yes).
  8. This scoring system for the hockey contest is terrible. The winner will be whoever made the most random guesses. Unlike football, a close match can easily finish 4-3 as much as it can finish 1-0. Nobody would ever think of using this system for Ice hockey... I don't know on what basis the previous system (2014-2018) has been changed and I'm being refused an answer
  9. Russia won't be allowed as long as it isn't financially profitable for IOC, that's about it. IOC doesn't care about any other reasons (human rights, deaths, etc are not their real concern). If NATO countries won't participate as long as there are russian athletes, then Russia won't ever come back. IOC are not dumb, they know who is their main cash cow.
  10. Why did you change the format of previous field hockey contests? (Guessing GD instead of the exact score). This sport has more goals than football and just a little less than ice hockey. Last men's WCs average goals per game in each sport: Football 2.69 Hockey 4.36 Ice hockey 5.86 Guessing the correct score in match is just a bit easier than winning the lottery...

  12. Well, they never gave a shit when stuff gets blown up in some middle east country so it would be consistent.
  13. Just a bit (read parts of his two main works) but not a fan of him, anyone from the same branch or "analytic" philosophy in general.
  14. One page of discussion about zzzemantics? You guys must be bored. He wrote: "Another interesting topic could be using human feces as a resource." Whatever "resource" means there.
  15. It's cuz he said south american teams couldn't win WC last few times because they don't play "high level matches". That quote got a lot buzz and backlash here so probably the players were waiting to have their "comeback". Also, there were rumors that Mbappe wanted all the south americans out of PSG to have his own group as majority so maybe there's something on that as well.
  16. Haha I saw this but it's just a mistranslation of "vamos carajo" which is more like "let's fucking go".
  17. What? This has nothing to do with Mbappe. He made a similar gesture after the copa america last year.
  18. Konig doesn't live in Buenos Aires but I'm literally in the middle of this.
  19. I will only say... that I hope you guys will never have to watch a team you support in a final like this one Ya somos campeón mundial
  20. You're a bit blind, don't know what else to tell you, those brilliant 80 minutes were all him. Every pass, every line broken.
  21. Unfortunately it's 99% France win. Our players are dead tired and theirs look like they can run a marathon. Penalties or a Messi moment my only hope.
