  1. Our staff got scared because of the people harassing the team in China and didn't want the same there. I'm surprised the organization didn't put a "Messi clause" in the match contract (less money if he doesn't play). That would have been the effective way to secure his presence.
  2. Brazil won, so rest of the tournament is already pointless. See you in 4 years
  3. Argentina defeated Colombia 19-0 so I guess the match vs Brazil in 20 minutes is basically the game for the olympic quota? I understand the women's tournament is a round robin with no final?
  4. Please, remove the "american" from the title. As if we can't tell it's american from the name of the competition and the name of the confederations involved already...
  5. I had tickets but already sold them to an uruguayan acquaintance today
  6. Israel defeated Brazil
  7. It's actually easy to explain... they hosted the euro U19 (so no grueling qualifiers to go thru) and then only defeated weak teams like Romania and Austria.
  8. Dramatic finish to group C... Israel beats Japan 2-1 while being down one player and down in the score to qualify for the next round. Colombia scores to tie the game against Senegal in the 7th minute of injury time, the african champions thus leave the tournament without a win.
  9. Lmao Italy's absolutely battering Brazil and the big crowd in Mendoza is loving it with very loud anti-brazil songs and "ole"s
  10. Yes, it's probably like the women's given this:
  11. Australia qualifies with a semifinal finish or with Samoa not winning the tournament.
  12. Go Spurs go Now I may feel like watching NBA again.
  13. qualified too. Before the last stage, the last olympic quota is up for grabs: 125 116 116 will stay as core team after finishing higher than .
  14. 30-70 in favor of public would be ideal. Enough to prevent clown acts from winning but also to not see a quality crowd favorite like Finland lose.
  15. Every time they send Flamenco-like music they get trounced. They should just accept at this point they have to embrace the latino reggaeton-type trash in order to have a chance
  16. Para sumarle al día: Sasia tiró 20.74 que es record sudamericano sub 23. O sea, ni Lauro ni los brasileros tiraron eso a su edad.
  17. Do these small sports really think the wisest decision is taking money from those shitty streaming services that nobody will buy? Yes, YT is no money but long term your sport is going to lose a lot of casual audience forever....
  18. Same for us, but I don't really care well, maybe about the waste of taxpayer money.
  19. Sorry if I sound like a broken record but... Gimson-Burnet: “We’ve had a whole week of our conditions. We had the one windy race at the start, but it’s generally been light air since and we worked on that quite a lot this winter, so we’re quite happy that the pace has been good. We’ll take that (winning the Palma and Hyères world cups in April)." “I think it’s still quite open (the class). We’ve had our breeze this week, but I’m sure if we’d been foiling the Italians would have been equally as strong. Last year was quite breezy (series) and we foiled in almost every regatta. This year, so far, has been quite a light airs year - every dog has its day." I was not surprised Argentina did well for the same reason.
  20. I know this coming from a nation that has perennial token participation in several team sports: losing 3 million games to top teams doesn't make you any better. Work on grassroots level and internal competition are much more decisive factors. Once that is in place, victories at higher levels come by themselves and after that the right to be part of the elite of the sport in question.
  21. Well, I don't think it's too bad. What is the W-L record of teams like Kenya, Japan, Canada this season? Something like 5-45? Few years ago they were always decent but now they seemingly can't challenge anyone. We already saw Wales and Scotland getting cut after basically losing every game they played. It's like sevens is becoming less and less competitive every year (or have the top teams improved too much?).
  22. won. Is men's World Series next season going to have 12 team tournaments (ala Olympics) or they stay with 16 teams but with just 12 of them being core teams?
