  1. Assuming we don't want to drop any sports or disciplines there are events that IMO could see some cuts in quotas: the marathons (10 each), single scull rowing (E/F finals), single dinghy Sailing (10 each), every Judo category (down to 16), 10m rifle (5 each), the road races (just 5 each, not asking much).
  2. Neither should be the men's team barring some major revamp of the squad. They may not even qualify.
  3. You understood well, it's just that the title is ambiguous: it says "you will add if your country hosts" (which could be interpreted as if you were personally in charge of the decision) when I think the intention was to say "what sports do you think your country would add if they were to host".
  4. [hide] Knockout Stage October 14th - October 28th, 2023 8 Nations, The Winners of each Quarterfinal will qualify for Semifinals. Quarterfinals Date & Time (GMT +2) Nation 1 T1 T2 Nation 2 October 14th, h. 17:00 Wales 5 Argentina October 14th, h. 21:00 Ireland 7 New Zealand October 15th, h. 17:00 England 15 Fiji October 15th, h. 21:00 France 3 South Africa [/hide]
  5. I would add nothing but the imaginary organizing committee would try to get water ski, polo or pelota in.
  6. wins in the last play. Crazy. Fiji still advances.
  7. Fiji can qualify even losing by 6 points to Portugal. They scored a try to equalize just now but they were losing by 7 lol
  8. Obviously I meant countries that have no private sector to rely on for funding sport. Basically most countries in the continent.
  9. Post-covid world governments finally realizing that using taxpayer money to fund the 30th best athlete in the americas is pointless. Was about time.
  10. Italy and Cuba are currently tied in wins, points and set ratio. If Italy beats Brazil, Cuba can grab the quota if they beat Iran with a better score (eg. ITA wins 3-1, CUB needs to win 3-0). If they win by the same score, Italy will probably qualify because their points ratio is much better. If Brazil wins none of the above matters and Brazil qualifies.
  11. I'll put it very simply: The loser of Brazil v Italy, Argentina and Slovenia are 99,99% qualified by ranking. Then other place for Egypt or Tunisia. And the final place is going to be for Serbia (most likely) or Cuba/Canada/Netherlands/Iran (low chance).
  12. There's no Oceania in volley. Slovenia has an enormous difference over Serbia who are next in ranking. Only a shockingly terrible VNL performance would prevent them from qualifying.
  13. If only Poland wouldn't have dropped a point to both these teams we'd still have a realistic chance. But Poland's coach probably assumed they were not tough opposition beforehand... oh well.
  14. will play OQTs. I wonder if will play it given they were chosen as host of one. Probably not, they have been happy to host hockey tournaments in which they don't participate recently.
  15. Leon made all the difference. Without his serves in key moments Poland doesn't win today. He rests out with Canada but plays today.
  16. The men's volleyball roster is stronger than I expected, I think they are favorite for gold now.
