  1. ^Thank you. Italy and Austria qualifying would potentially kick China out of the olympic play-offs, maybe France or Korea if they fail at their own tournament, maybe South Africa if they fail too and also give up continental quota... those are the only ones at risk. Canada and Malaysia have nothing to worry and because of that I think one or both will lose the semifinal.
  2. They won't get a place in the olympic qualifiers, that's 100% sure. However, I don't know if the 3rd place of the event in which they compete gets the place instead or if it will be simply assigned by world ranking among the eliminated teams of all tournaments.
  3. I can't believe there are people saying it was a good episode of got. The start of the battle was the only good part but just from a choreographic/effects points of view. Spoilers:
  4. Knockout games: Austria vs winner of Malaysia-Wales Italy vs winner of China-Canada Impressive from Austria and Italy taking 1st places but, as I said before, FIH has ensured that even if they qualify Canada and Malaysia will still play easier opponents in the play-offs because of ranking, despite being defeated by them here. Anyway, I think Italy at least will make a big climb in the rankings.
  5. How? There is only 20 places (-1 for Japan, -1 for tripartite) and she isn't close to be top 18 in the world.
  6. I don't know much about weddings but there isn't any very particular tradition here. Usually you have bachelor party a few days before, then people get married in a church (if religious) and in the appropiate government venue (usually this two ceremonies take place in different days). For the religious ceremony usually the bride wears white wedding dress, for the civil one just any dress of her liking. After the ceremonies you have party in a place you rent, there guests bring gifts (most usually just money, like the "busta" described by the italian user the previous page) and eat and party for many hours. That's it.
  7. In the bizarre world of argentine athletics.... Today the newly crowned national champion of the men's 100m sprint with 10.60 is... a member of the rugby sevens national team To make it worse he's an 18 year old boy and he won the senior national championship lol
  8. At the argentine nationals this week only 1 qualification. Delfina Pignatiello, W 1500m Free, 16:13:xx She could have qualified as well in the 800 with her time of the brazilian championship of last week (sadly the competition didn't count for OQT) but opted not to compete in the event this week. Also some of our other swimmers that could qualify didn't participate (it seems no one takes our nationals seriously anymore lol).
  9. They have 7 argentinian, one of them is actually a quite good player (Thomas Keenan). I think he was capped with our team at some point or at least was part of the training squad. His brother Nicolás is playing with our team in pro league. Nice upsets in first day but I still feel like nothing here really matters. The higher ranked teams will still qualify and they will still get a better seeding for the playoffs. Of course it would be a milestone for Italy, Austria or Wales to just make the play offs but if they do they will get some impossible opponent like Germany or India while Canada will still be playing a team of around their ranking.
  10. Finals Tournament 1 starts tomorrow in Kuala Lumpur. 2 quotas for olympic play-offs available. In theory Malaysia and Canada should take them, with China running behind. Malaysia and Canada have nothing to fear though, their ranking almost guarantees they will qualify for the playoffs even if they fail here. As I predicted, Vanuatu withdrew from this round, they are being replaced by Belarus. Don't ask me what happens if Wales is top 2...
  11. I don't participate this time bestmen, which means you will probably earn some points.
  12. God, I hate when some athletes, especially in individual sports, start demanding special treatment from federations and putting conditions to represent the country thinking they "own" the sport just because they happen to be the best athlete in the country in x sport. Naturally, I mean when they make individual demands that aren't supported by the other athletes of the same sport. We have many like that here.
  13. The only good thing was the scene with everyone drinking at the fireplace. The rest was either cheesy or cringy, sometimes both.
  14. You talk about GOT? Because you are incredibly wrong if so
  15. I doubt Argentina will send anyone to the swimming world championships. We only have two swimmers that could realistically make semifinals there and nothing more. Every athlete has to win medals in Lima to keep their funding for the next 4 years, so for most of these swimmers it's just not worth the travel around the globe to just get a 26th place that won't give them anything and may also contribute to finish their hopes of a career in the sport. With the current government our athletes live in full survival mode and the pressure on many of them (at least on the ones that don't have any hope of a olympic medal or diploma next year) for this pan am games is huge.
  16. France??
  17. Two "bad" competitions in a row for Tita-Banti. World and internal competition tightening up for them. Maybe the others have learned the secrets of the new foil only them had mastered so far?
  18. Unfortunately the brazilian championships don't count for olympic qualification but only for pan am and WCh (?). Apparently it's some bureaucratic reason from brazilian confederation. It's a pity because several brazilian and argentinian swimmers made OQT so far during this competition.
  19. I mean, it's the world champion vs a team that doesn't even qualify for it...
  20. I don't get what is the purpose of this? Was 8 matches in two weeks considered too much or something?
  21. One of the boys from the Argentina team is the representative of my club (Yagocai, "cai" is for "club Atlético independiente"). Too bad he lost his match.
  22. Brazilian championship tomorrow. Every relevant south american swimmer from the other nations will also be there. Maybe we will see some qualifications.
  23. I think they will go for some kind of k or l type of ending. Think that both Targaryen and Lannister siblings will all die. Night king is a complete mystery so I can't really predict what will happen to him.
  24. From what I gather from journalists, lots of controversial decisions, unbalanced draws... the same as always.
  25. So basically floorball for people that can't buy skates to play ice hockey. Got it.
