  1. Game 7, let’s do this!
  2. Just making sure, because I think Wikipedia got it wrong again, but I believe Katie Vincent is entered in two events? Edit: Yep, she finished 1st in Trials.
  3. I think it’s possible, but I wouldn’t say it for sure will happen. Some athletes will crumble under pressure, and* be nowhere near their PB’s. Others will thrive. Personally, I’m thinking 49.15 or so.
  4. Khamica Bingham (athletics) https://www.instagram.com/reel/C8nEdL1vTjM/?igsh=eTFvNG1hczluMXdo 2nd best women’s 100m runner in Canada, would’ve been a massive boost to our 4x100m relay (not in terms of medals, but maybe making the final) @Topicmaster1010 @james89 @Surlympics @intoronto @NearPup
  5. Thought I included FAA, Fernandez, and Dabrowski in tennis, but apparently not. That’s 295. Raonic and Andresscu, if they take PR’s, would be 297. Judo I already included in our total. I’d say 305-310 overall.
  6. Dearica Hamby will replace Brink https://www.instagram.com/p/C8m6C1nRldz/?igsh=azE2MzB0M3ZiaXh4 Howard might also be out injured, with an ankle injury, but how serious it is/her timeline for recovery has yet to be determined.
  7. A lot of sprinters don’t say they’re going to break the WR nearly every time they race, and don’t get anywhere near it though
  8. That’s not correct. As I said on the first page (but pretty much everyone seemed to forget), I have the number of athletes and events updated daily on the very first reply, anything else is inaccurate. We have 292, with all athletics Q’s (including the relay athletes). No Andresscu/Raonic (I’m waiting for Tennis Canada to publish a team selection article), and no athletes through the Road to Paris have been calculated in yet.
  9. Canoe sprint team officially named! https://www.instagram.com/p/C8mrfejO1T6/?igsh=MWZ5ZDltenExazg5dg==
  10. As you can probably tell, I’m really excited for the Olympics to start Schedule/Results Live Streaming Day -2/-1/0 Canadian Olympic Schedule (start time, PST/EST) July 25 12:30 AM/3:30 AM: Archery - Women’s Individual Ranking Round - Virginie Chenier 5:15 AM/8:15 AM: Archery - Men’s Individual Ranking Round - Eric Peters 8:00 AM/11:00 AM: Football - Women’s Group A - Canada v. New Zealand July 26 10:30 AM/1:30 PM: Olympics Opening Ceremony Medal Events N/A Canadian Olympic Medal Chances N/A Canadian Day-By-Day Olympic Medal Overview 0 G | 0 S | 0 B = 0 T (N/A on the overall medal table)
  11. Canada’s B team lost their opening match to Austria.
  12. Olympic Draw Pots Pot 1: Pot 2: Pot 3: Pot 4:
  13. Provisional Olympic team after Day 3 (23 athletes) On Tuesday, when the US Olympic Trials are taking a break (not sure why), I’ll do a rundown of the events where the US hasn’t qualified a full Olympic team Men Track 100m - Noah Lyles, Kenny Bednarek, Fred Kerley 10000m - Grant Fisher, Woody Kincaid, Nico Young 4x100m Relay - Noah Lyles, Kenny Bednarek, Fred Kerley Field Shot Put - Ryan Crouser, Joe Kovacs, Payton Otterdahl Pole Vault - Sam Kendricks, Chris Nilsen, Jacob Wooten Combined Decathlon - Heath Baldwin, Harrison Williams, Zack Ziemek Women Track 100m - Sha’Carri Richardson, Melissa Jefferson, Twanisha Terry 400m - Kendall Ellis, Aaliyah Butler, Alexis Holmes 4x100m Relay - Sha’Carri Richardson, Melissa Jefferson, Twanisha Terry 4x400m Relay - Kendall Ellis, Aaliyah Butler, Alexis Holmes Field Hammer Throw - Deanna Price, Annette Echikunwoke
  14. 9.83 for Noah Lyles in the men’s 100m Kenny Bednarek 2nd in 9.87, and Fred Kerley 3rd in 9.88. Christian Coleman will not be making the Olympic team individually
  15. Very strange scenes in the men’s javelin throw final, with Thompson fouling during his last 3 rounds, and Williamson and Banks in their last 4 (!!) rounds. Coincidentally, those were the top 3 and therefore have “qualified” for the Olympics (None of them have the Olympic standard, Thompson is safe, Williamson might qualify, and Banks will probably not, so if Minichello can stay within the quotas he’ll qualify)
  16. Kaylyn Brown would’ve been one, but she didn’t even qualify.
  17. @Triplecast given that Corrigan is nowhere near a spot through the Road to Paris, what would happen? Would they give his spot to Jager (4th at US Trials), or Rotich (Highest finisher with the Olympic standard) ?
  18. 49.46 for Kendall Ellis in the women’s 400m Aaliyah Butler 2nd in 49.71, and Alexis Holmes 3rd in 49.78 grab the other two individual quotas.
  19. 44.49 Another U18 WR in the men’s 400m for Quincy Wilson
  20. Another surprise as Ajee Wilson fails to advance to the women’s 800m final.
  21. 5 men under 9.90 in the men’s 100m semifinals Ridiculous. Noah Lyles is the top qualifier with 9.80, Kenny Bednarek 2nd in 9.82, Christian Coleman 3rd in 9.86, Courtney Lindsey 4th in 9.88, and Fred Kerley 5th in 9.89.
  22. Wait a minute, KC Lightfoot out in men’s pole vault qualifying
  23. Wide open for the Olympic medals now. Assuming Rogers and Price win gold and silver (no particular order), there’s a whole bunch of names that could win bronze. Wlodarczyk, Fantini, Skydan, Kosonen, Marglieva just to name a few.
